[Bug 1945410] [NEW] Alt+Shift+F10 and some others not working (not captured)

2021-09-28 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

Base case
=

Step:
- Turn Num Lock on.
- Press Alt+Shift+F10 in an IDE that has that shortcut set.

Exptected: works as expected.

Actual: does nothing.

Testing with Gnome Settings
===

Alt+Shift+F10 can be added as a shortcut in Keyboard Shortcuts in Gnome
Settings, and it works.

Testing with `xev`
==

When Num Lock is on, pressing Alt+Shift+F10 doesn't print any F10
press/release events.

[Bug 1942293] [NEW] Geogebra not scaled in HiDPI monitor

2021-08-31 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

In HiDPI monitor which Ubuntu scales 200% the app is not scaled. The
workaround for now is to open the app by running:

java -Xms32m -Xmx512m -Dsun.java2d.uiScale=2.0 -jar
/usr/share/geogebra/geogebra.jar

By the way, the package in Ubuntu repository looks like not up to date.

[Bug 1940597] [NEW] [ATH-SR30BT] Bluetooth headset disconnected after auto-connected

2021-08-19 Thread Fikrul Arif

I've paired the headset with Ubuntu. On the other day when I turn the

list. However, a second (or less) later, it is disconnected. I need to

Not sure, but I've set it manually via the GUI the make sure of it.

> do you see DNS servers?
I can't see such "DNS" or "name server" in the output. Btw, if I connect by
executing the command line, there's no DNS problem, because it hardcodes
`/etc/resolv.conf` to the VPN's DNS, the default 127.0.0.53 is deleted,
replaced by 10.x.x.x.

[Bug 1934980] [NEW] NetworkManager does not use openconnect GlobalProtect VPN's DNS

2021-07-08 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

1. Add a GlobalProtect VPN in network settings GUI, set DNS to manual, enter
DNS IP address.
2. Open an internal website that should be routed through the VPN.

Actual: failed to open the internal website.
Expected: should open the internal website.

Content of `/etc/resolv.conf`: using systemd-resolved's 127.0.0.53.

Output of `resolvectl status`: only wlo1 has DNS Servers entry, there is
no DNS Servers entry in vpn0.

Workaround: manually set the DNS in /etc/resolv.conf. Side effects of
the workaround: the setting does not persist.

[Bug 1934597] [NEW] Overlapping texts in Show Keyboard Layout window (RTL, AltGr)

2021-07-04 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

1. In Region & Language settings, add a keyboard layout that contains RTL
characters and uses AltGr, e.g. "Arabic (QWERTY)" or "Indonesian (Arab Melayu,
ext. phonetic)".
2. Open the keyboard layout window by pressing the eye icon.

Expected: on each key, the corresponding characters are displayed:
- (A) without modifier: bottom left
- (B) with Shift: top left
- (C) with AltGr: bottom right
- (D) with Shift+AltGr: top right

Actual: there are keys which contain overlapping character, (A) and (B)
are rendered on the right side, overlap (C) and (D) respectively.

I've seen the source code somewhere in the past, it seems the text area
for (A) and (B) fill the key width. It's okay when the text of (A) and
(B) are short and LTR. However, if (A) or (B) are RTL, it is right
aligned so it takes (C) or (D) place. So a simple fix probably by
reducing (A) by half of the key width if there's (C) for that key, and
so for (B) and (D).

[Bug 1931324] [NEW] Mic mute key doesn't work on HP Envy 15

2021-06-08 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

Pressing mic mute on the keyboard doesn't mute/unmute the microphone,
and the light indicator on the key is not changed. `xev` gives this when
the key is pressed:

MappingNotify event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x0,
request MappingKeyboard, first_keycode 8, count 248

KeyPress event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x221,
root 0x93b, subw 0x0, time 1133652, (210,515), root:(2914,643),
state 0x0, keycode 248 (keysym 0x0, NoSymbol), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 37, synthetic NO, window 0x221,
root 0x93b, subw 0x0, time 1133652, (210,515), root:(2914,643),
state 0x0, keycode 248 (keysym 0x0, NoSymbol), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False

However, trying to record/add the keyboard shortcut in Settings >
Keyboard is not successful. When the key is pressed it seems it doesn't
detect the key pressed event.

[Bug 1921317] Re: [20VA, Realtek ALC287, Speaker, Internal] Playback problem

2021-03-25 Thread Fikrul Arif
Additional bugs, probably related:
1. When the sound works, there is a little noise that can be heard if there's a
silent audio playing.
2. When increasing/decreasing volume by using multimedia keys, sometimes it
continuously increases/decreases as if the button is kept pressed although I
just press it once and release it immediately.

[Bug 1921317] [NEW] [20VA, Realtek ALC287, Speaker, Internal] Playback problem

2021-03-24 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

Lenovo ThinkBook 14s G2
1. Boot to windows (ah yes, I'm still using windows for something that's not
fully supported by Ubuntu).
2. Restart, boot to Ubuntu.
3. Got no sound, except just a cool "hreck" sound when it has to be a
sound, only a short sound although I'm about to play a long audio. Probably
each time playback is activated the short "hreck" sound is produced.
4. Restart, boot to Ubuntu again.
5. It is not fixed yet.

However the playback works if I fully turn the computer off and then
turn it on again, instead of restarting.

[Bug 1897995] [NEW] Internal speaker not working because it's treated as headphone and muted by default

2020-09-30 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

I am using Ubuntu Focal in HP Pavilion g4, the internal speaker not
working, no sound at all. However it works if I run alsamixer and unmute
the headphone. It's strange that the internal speaker is assumed as
headphone.

For your information, it happens after upgrading to Focal, it was good
in the previous LTS version. For additional information, I upgraded to
Focal while using external monitor that has speaker by using HDMI cable.
The HDMI was connected before and after upgrade process. I don't know if
this is related.

[Bug 1809712] [NEW] Not responding to input after switch user to auto-login account

2018-12-24 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

Step:

1. There are two users, A and B. A is adminstrator, B is standard user, B is
automatic login.
2. Boot into Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, it will automatically login to user B.
3. Switch User to user A without logging out.
4. Switch User back to user B, either by logging out from user A or not.

Expected: it will be back to user B normally.

Actual: it backs to user B but become not responding to keyboard,
touchpad, or mouse input. Closing the lid is responded normally, which
is locking the screen, the three-arrows in the lock screen is animated
normally, clock is updated.

[Bug 1272242] [NEW] Hybrid graphics: switching to discrete by using switcheroo make screen going black

2014-01-24 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:
* In lightdm login screen, switch to tty2 (Ctrl+Alt+F2)
* Execute this after login:

sudo su
service lightdm stop
echo DDIS > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
# frozen here, can't switch to other ttys; but keyboard input is still
received, eg.:
reboot

Actually I want to switch to AMD Radeon graphics, because in X session

[Bug 1196803] [NEW] Firefox says I am using proxy after update

2013-07-01 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

After updating Firefox, I can't connect to the internet. It said that
the connection cannot be established with the proxy set. I'd checked
Firefox settings, "Use system proxy settings" was checked and the system
is not set any proxy. I've confirmed it by checking System Settings ->
Network and running `set | grep proxy`. I could connect to the internet
again after setting Firefox proxy to "No proxy" rather than "Use system
proxy settings".

[Bug 1180587] [NEW] Pressing Super doesn't open Unity dash on Ubuntu 13.04

2013-05-15 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

I have enabled workspaces (by default it is disabled in Ubuntu 13.04). This is
the steps of reproducing the bug:
1) Open an application in one workspace, leave other workspaces blank
2) Move to another workspace (whose no application/window there) by using
Ctrl+Down, Ctrl+Right, etc
3) Press Super
Expected: the dash will open
Got: nothing

In addition, sometimes moving the mouse pointer to the left edge reveal
the launcher (so I still can use the mouse to open an application in
that workspace), sometimes nothing happens.

Thank you

2013-03-27 Thread Fikrul Arif

In LibreOffice Writer, when I go to Insert menu -> Indexes and Tables ->

after several save-document or click-the-menu-item -- it doesn't open any

[Bug 1077546] [NEW] Gnome Shell sudo dialog said "Sorry, that didn't work. Please try again" when opening Synaptic

2012-11-10 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce the bug:
1. Run Synaptic Package Manager, Gnome Shell's sudo dialog appear, enter
password
2. Exit Synaptic
3. Run again, type password, and there's a message before pressing Enter:
"Sorry, that didn't work. Please try again."

Sometimes, after successfully installing some packages and
installation/downloading dialog disappear, Synaptic's main window is
still dark. This is usually happen when a dialog appears in front of a
window, but the window should become normal again after the dialog
disappears. I don't know whether this has relationship with the bug I am
reporting.

[Bug 1068930] [NEW] Warzone 2100 can't launch or crashes

2012-10-19 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

When I launch/run Warzone 2100, it suddenly halted/crashed and I was
brought to the login (it caused the system to be logged out). I tried
this several times: run warzone2100, crashed, login again, run again...
About the 3rd trial I can run warzone2100, but sometimes it crashes
while running (I attach the dump file). I will try to get the stderr
output later.

[Bug 1016827] [NEW] Unable to connect to security.ubuntu.com

2012-06-23 Thread Fikrul Arif
Public bug reported:

When I do `apt-get update` I got many error messages. One of them is "W:
Failed to fetch http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/precise-
security/main/binary-i386/Packages Unable to connect to
security.ubuntu.com:http: [IP: 91.189.92.151 80]". I think the problem
is proxy settings, but the `set | grep proxy` gave me the correct
http_proxy and no_proxy. Before doing that, I've also set
org.gnome.system.proxy.socks host, org.gnome.system.proxy.socks port,
org.gnome.system.proxy ignore-hosts, and org.gnome.system.proxy mode
'manual' with `gsettings set`.

[Bug 996290] Re: gnome-shell doesn't include fonts-cantarell as dependency

2012-05-07 Thread Fikrul Arif
Thank you Jeremy. I am very sorry for "very ugly" words. I just realized that
the phrase is not polite, but I don't speak English natively :).
However, I just know that there's metapackage for that.
