[Bug 1005224] Re: Video frame buffering failed too many times
i have a seperate frontend that runs 0.27 atm. when i ran 0.25 on BE and FE they both worked fine. i could watch live TV on both of them. upgrading to 0.26 broke it. live tv still works fine on the BE but the FE can't watch it anymore. after 2 seconds i get above messages. i upgraded to 0.27 hoping the dev version would have it fixed. but lifeTV still works on the BE, the frontend is still broken. i run ubuntu 12.04LTS on both of them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005224 Title: Video frame buffering failed too many times To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythtv/+bug/1005224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop
I never had a problem with 11.04. but with 11.10 i get the occasional freeze from nvidia. going to 'additional drivers' and removing the nvidia driver completely solves the freeze. I have yet to test it but the issue seems to be related to the power saving mode. if you add Option RegistryDwordsPowerMizerEnable=0x1; PerfLevelSrc=0x; PowerMizerDefault=0x2; PowerMizerDefaultAC=0x2 to the xorg.conf, the system is stable, it will just never run at low or high power, just stick somewhere in the middle. lspci says i have a 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GF106 [Quadro 2000M] (rev a1) i hope nvidia and the 3.0 kernel guys figure out what's going on soon as currently i'm loosing production hours and i'm definitely not used to that from linux. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728745 Title: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nux/+bug/728745/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

i played an unencrypted DVD that had some read errors when i copied it to the hard drive. it crashed the frontend again. i'm starting to get pretty annoyed with the inability of the frontend to play dvds properly. i played the dvd with xbmc just fine. if that had the same easy filelevel management of video files i'd switch permanently. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/796738 Title: trying to play dvd crashed frontend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythtv/+bug/796738/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

i ran 10.10 before natty with the lirc-modules-source which had a different imon kernel driver. that used to have similar problems but the later releases didnt and the system kept running for months without problems. with the update to natty the error returned. so i could well be the kernel driver or some setting i can pass the module when it loads. the latest 0.23.1 was installed. upgrading to 0.24 fixed the problem. i didn't install the dbg package first so i dont have a trace to upload. still all 10.04 and 10.10 installs dont have 0.24 enabled and could experience similar problems. messages before the segfault may indicate that hdmi and nvidia may have something to do with it: Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268040] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.35/lib/vsprintf.c:1283 vsnprintf+0x416/0x430() Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268042] Hardware name: System Product Name Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268044] Modules linked in: lirc_i2c(C) autofs4 nfsd exportfs nfs lockd fscache nfs_acl auth_rpcgss snd_hda_codec_nvhdmi sunrpc ir_lirc_codec tuner_simple tuner_types lirc_dev ir_sony_decoder tuner ir_jvc_decoder msp3400 ir_rc6_decoder snd_hda_codec_realtek rc_imon_pad ir_rc5_decoder saa7115 snd_hda_intel ivtv i2c_algo_bit cx2341x v4l2_common videodev ir_nec_decoder imon snd_hda_codec v4l1_compat snd_hwdep tveeprom k8temp nvidia(P) i2c_piix4 asus_atk0110 snd_pcm psmouse serio_raw ir_core ppdev snd_seq_midi parport_pc snd_rawmidi snd_seq_midi_event snd_seq snd_timer snd_seq_device snd soundcore snd_page_alloc ati_agp agpgart lp parport usbhid hid ahci r8169 libahci mii pata_atiixp Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268095] Pid: 804, comm: hd-audio1 Tainted: P C 2.6.35-24-generic #42-Ubuntu Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268098] Call Trace: Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268107] [c014ad02] warn_slowpath_common+0x72/0xa0 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268111] [c0358f46] ? vsnprintf+0x416/0x430 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268114] [c0358f46] ? vsnprintf+0x416/0x430 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268120] [c014ad52] warn_slowpath_null+0x22/0x30 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268123] [c0358f46] vsnprintf+0x416/0x430 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268127] [c0358fea] snprintf+0x1a/0x20 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268139] [f80f066d] snd_print_pcm_bits+0x5d/0x80 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268149] [f80f98a7] hdmi_show_short_audio_desc+0xf7/0x100 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268153] [c0358fea] ? snprintf+0x1a/0x20 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268161] [f80f990f] snd_hdmi_show_eld+0x5f/0xa0 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268170] [f80f9cb0] ? snd_hdmi_get_eld+0xd0/0x100 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268178] [f80f9cb0] ? snd_hdmi_get_eld+0xd0/0x100 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268183] [f804f64e] hdmi_present_sense+0x5e/0x70 [snd_hda_codec_nvhdmi] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268187] [f804f74d] hdmi_intrinsic_event+0xed/0x100 [snd_hda_codec_nvhdmi] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268191] [f804f7a6] hdmi_unsol_event+0x46/0x80 [snd_hda_codec_nvhdmi] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268194] [c013eb8d] ? finish_task_switch+0x3d/0xc0 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268201] [f80f0106] process_unsol_events+0x56/0x70 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268207] [c0161afe] run_workqueue+0x8e/0x150 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268214] [f80f00b0] ? process_unsol_events+0x0/0x70 [snd_hda_codec] Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268218] [c0161c44] worker_thread+0x84/0xe0 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268222] [c0165ec0] ? autoremove_wake_function+0x0/0x50 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268226] [c0161bc0] ? worker_thread+0x0/0xe0 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268229] [c0165a94] kthread+0x74/0x80 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268232] [c0165a20] ? kthread+0x0/0x80 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268236] [c010363e] kernel_thread_helper+0x6/0x10 Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268239] ---[ end trace c48fb5460fd593de ]--- Jan 6 01:56:41 lmc kernel: [ 23.268241] HDMI: supports coding type LPCM: channels = 2, rates = 44100 48000 88200, bits = 16 Jan 6 01:56:42 lmc kernel: [ 24.053019] HDMI: detected monitor SAMSUNG Jan 6 01:56:42 lmc kernel: [ 24.053022] at connection type HDMI Jan 6 01:56:42 lmc kernel: [ 24.053025] HDMI: available speakers: FL/FR Jan 6 01:56:42 lmc kernel: [ 24.053029] HDMI: supports coding type LPCM: channels = 2, rates = 44100 48000 88200, bits = 16 Jan 6 01:57:07 lmc kernel: [ 49.325593] EXT4-fs (sdb1): re-mounted. [Bug 601192] Re: linux-image-virtual installs PAE kernel instead
i did a quick test with 'vmbuilder' today and the produced virtual machine installs the PAE kernel too (as expected). so currently, all virtual machines build on ubuntu 10 have an unnecessary big kernel aboard! this bug was reported a week ago. any possibility of a status update? i'm sure plenty users are affected though they may not know as the machine does still function after a reboot.. -- linux-image-virtual installs PAE kernel instead https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/601192 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

i should perhaps also mention that this happens on 3 different linux machines that i tested on. one is fresh installed, 2 are upgraded from 9.10, all 3 have usb issues now. all had no problems with usb devices before the upgrade to 10.04. i would opt for an increase in priority of this issue as all 3 systems are less than reliable at the moment and 2 of them 'need' to be running 24/7. -- external USB hard drive disconnects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349767 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
