[Bug 2063955] [NEW] 23.10 to 24.04 upgrade needed to reinstall of GPU drivers for Blender to see them
Public bug reported: how to reproduce the issue 1. clean install of Ubuntu 23.10 on something like a Dell Optiplex 5050 + GTX 1650 2. make sure nvidia-driver-535(proprietary, tested) is installed and active 3. install Blender 4.1.1 from Snap 4. open Blender and go to the GPU settings, GPU should be listed 5. update to current patch level IE update-manager ( reboot ) 6. upgrade to 24.04 via update-manager -d ( reboot ) 7. open Blender and go to the GPU settings, GPU should be missing to fix 1. switch to nouveau ( reboot ) 2. switch back to nvidia-driver-535(proprietary, tested) ( reboot ) 3. open Blender and go to the GPU settings, GPU should be listed Dell Optiplex 5050 ( GF's daughter's computer, she uses for Blender 4.1.1 ) I7-7700 GTX 1650 + nvidia-driver-535(proprietary, tested) was on Ubuntu 23.10 Did an update-manager -d to 24.04 and everything seemed to go smoothly. I opened Blender 4.1.1 and it couldn't find the GPU. I had to switch to nouveau, reboot, switch back to nvidia-driver-535(proprietary, tested), and reboot and Blender 4.1.1 could find the GPU again. I did the same on my computer Custom PC i5-12400F Arc A750 + intel's Ubuntu Repo was on Ubuntu 23.10 Did an update-manager -d to 24.04 and everything seemed to go smoothly too. I opened Blender 4.1.1 and it couldn't find the GPU. I tired older versions no luck. reinstalled all the packages from intel no luck. this might be partly an intel issue so I posted in their community too https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-ARC-Graphics/Blender-can-t-find-my- GPU-now-upgraded-to-Ubuntu-24-04-from-23/m-p/1593065#M13990 ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2063955 Title: 23.10 to 24.04 upgrade needed to reinstall of GPU drivers for Blender to see them To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/2063955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 521291] Re: podcast details are shifted one column over or something else
it looks like the info in the feeds ( xml , rss, etc... ) gets replaced by what info is in the podcast file itself. I think the old way makes more sense from a users point of view. Info from podcast file itself should only fill in missing information and not replace what is there or ask the user how they want to deal with it -- podcast details are shifted one column over or something else https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/521291 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 25632] Re: SPDIF won't play PCM after playing AC3
I tried turning off and back on my pre/pro+amp ( Yamaha DSP-A1 ) that didn't work for me nor did rebooting my computer. Since PCM via spdif should get send at a fixed clock rate, I think the computer side might go out of of sync since when it brakes. Just running speaker-test -D spdif -c 2 fixes it for me more than once. My guess is that that command restarts the clock spdif is using or reinitialises it.
