[Bug 1690939] [NEW] evince crashes with segmentation fault when $DISPLAY is set
Public bug reported: I ssh into another computer with X11-forwarding and compression to run some programs. My $DISPLAY is automatically set to "localhost:10.0" or the like and I can successfully run xterm and xeyes and all those programs. When I try to run evince, I get "Segmentation fault (core dumped)". No core file is generated when this happens. When I am logged into the same system locally, I have no problem with evince -- only when ssh'ed in remotely. ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1690939 Title: evince crashes with segmentation fault when $DISPLAY is set To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1690939/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 905894] Re: HAM Radio category missing
I agree with Tom White in comment #3. Synaptic has a category titled Amateur Radio -- it is that set of applications which should be under the Amateur Radio subcategory in the USC. [Bug 662539] [NEW] gnumeric segfaults when printing or print-previewing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnumeric I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit desktop and Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition. Both computers exhibit the same result. I am using an HP Officejet J6480 configured via HPLIP which worked on previous Ubuntu installs, and a freshly installed cups-pdf print to PDF driver. Both printers exhibit the same result. I am using gnumeric 1.10.8-1ubuntu1. I expected that telling gnumeric to print my document (attached below) would cause the document to print, and that telling gnumeric to print- preview would preview the print. Instead, both commands cause a segmentation fault. I tried running gnumeric in gdb to see if it would generate traceback information. Here's what I got: (gdb) run Starting program: /usr/bin/gnumeric [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0x7fffee35d710 (LWP 2999)] Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x75ebebeb in memcpy () from /lib/libc.so.6 (gdb) I searched Synaptic for a debug build of gnumeric but came up empty. I have attached the file in question. I don't know if it happens with other files, but it definitely happens with this one. It's my homework -- don't know what I'm gonna do for class tomorrow. :-P ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: gnumeric 1.10.8-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.34-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon Oct 18 00:36:28 2010 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat - Release amd64 (20101007) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnumeric ** Affects: gnumeric (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- gnumeric segfaults when printing or print-previewing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662539 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 658130] [NEW] nm-applet crashes when adding wireless network
Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit desktop. The network-manager-gnome package is version 0.8.1+git.20100809t190028.290dc70-0ubuntu3 (maverick). I configured a new wireless network via the applet. Instead of connecting me to the wireless network, the applet crashed. Things to note: the applet wasn't showing my wireless device and wasn't offering me a choice of wireless networks to which I could connect. The dmesg output (which I believe is attached here) shows that I do have a USB-based wireless device but for whatever reason the applet didn't seem to see it. This probably won't help, but it worked under lucid. :-) If there is anything else I can do to help triage this bug, please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks! Jack. [Bug 643161] [NEW] 10.10 UNE install warning window too big
Public bug reported: I downloaded the 10.10 UNE beta and put it on a USB stick then tried to install it on my EeePC 8G. When I chose 'install' at the first screen, I was treated to a large window with the title 'Install' and 'Warning' in large font, then a bunch of text that was mostly* bolded that started with This is a pre-release of the Ubuntu-Netbook 10.10 live UB disk installer. The whitespace above and below the two paragraphs made the window so large that I cannot see the bottom of the window on my screen, thus making it impossible for me to click 'ok', even if I grab the title bar and move it to the top of the screen. Take out the unnecessary white space and this instance of the problem should go away. Test on a smaller screen and this entire problem should go away. *the last two words of the two-paragraph warning were not bolded -- this program. only had the t bolded, but that's not a functionality issue so I won't file a separate bug. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 10.10 UNE install warning window too big https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643161 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 643161] Re: 10.10 UNE install warning window too big
As suggested on #ubuntu, I used tab to guess at the OK button that was off the screen to move forward. This same size issue applies to the Welcome screen and the Preparing to Install Ubuntu-Netbook screen. I stopped there because frankly it's nerve-wracking enough to install an operating system for the average user -- to do so while guessing at actions occurring off the screen is terrifying. If this screen is considered too small, say so. Maybe a virtual desktop for tiny screens is a good idea. Anything's better than this. Thank you for your time and attention, and I look forward to installing this on my EeePC soon! -- 10.10 UNE install warning window too big https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643161 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
