[Bug 756760] Re: Simple Scan crashes on save
After some further research I found out that it has nothing to do if you scan one or multiple pages at once. The problem is that when I use the scanner's automatic document feeder the displayed size of the scanned document is quite strange. When I crop the scan to A4 size thereafter it has to be cut on one side (short edge) and to be extended on the other (long edge). ** Attachment added: Screenshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simple-scan/+bug/756760/+attachment/2012103/+files/simple_scan.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/756760 Title: Simple Scan crashes on save -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 555131] [NEW] Kernel 2.6.32-19 ignores lid status
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image Kernel 2.6.32-19 ignores the lid status which is bad if you use your notebook with a docking station and an external display. Kernel 2.6.32-18 or older and the mainline kernels handle a closed laptop lid like a disconnected LVDS display. Since kernel 2.6.32-19 lucid boots up with a wrong diplay resolution because both displays a switched on even if the lid is closed. The displays are mirrored and switched to 1152x864 instead of their native resolutions. This leads to a blurry and warped GDM. a...@xyz:~$ uname -a Linux xyz 2.6.32-19-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 1 10:39:41 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux a...@xyz:~$ xrandr -q Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) LVDS1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1440x900 60.0 + 50.0 1360x768 59.8 1152x864 60.0 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 56.2 640x48059.9 DVI1 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 434mm x 270mm 1680x1050 59.9*+ 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x60075.0 60.3 640x48075.0 60.0 720x40070.1 TV1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) a...@xyz:~$ uname -a Linux xyz 2.6.32-02063209-generic #02063209 SMP Wed Feb 24 10:09:53 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux a...@xyz:~$ xrandr -q Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) LVDS1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI1 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 434mm x 270mm 1680x1050 59.9*+ 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 60.0 800x60075.0 60.3 640x48075.0 60.0 720x40070.1 TV1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lucid -- Kernel 2.6.32-19 ignores lid status https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555131 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 404919] Re: [i965GM] GDM is starting up with wrong display resolution
Yes, I think the upstream bug report addresses my issue. When Windows XP shows the login screen on both displays it uses (the smaller) notebook resolution. This resolution is also shown on the external display, but not stretched (like ubuntu does it) but centered. The best solution would be if I could switch between the displays (and perhaps mirror mode) with Fn+F8 (or whatever it is on other notebooks) when GDM is displayed. Just the way it is when logged in. When GDM is mirrored on both displays it should use the Windows approach (centering instead of stretching). -- [i965GM] GDM is starting up with wrong display resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404919 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I have a DELL Latitude D630 notebook with a d/port docking station and a DELL 2007wfp display which is connected to the docking station with a DVI plug. The notebook has a resolution of 1440x900. The external 2007wfp Display has a resolution of 1680x1050. When I start the notebook (docked to docking station), GNOME will start with the correct resolution of the external display. But it is not possible to switch to the notebook display (e.g. when I undock the notebook). When I start the notebook undocked, GNOME will start with the correct resolution of the internal display. [Bug 329469] [NEW] [jaunty] gnome-display-properties doesn't remeber settings
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools I have a DELL Latitude D630 notebook with a d/port docking station and a DELL 2007wfp display which is connected to the docking station with a DVI plug. The notebook has a resolution of 1440x900. The external 2007wfp Display has a resolution of 1680x1050. On Hardy the notebook display is switched off and the external display works with its native resolution after login (desired behaviour). On Jaunty both displays display the same with a resolution of 1152x864 after login. When I then open gnome-display-properties mirrow screens is checked. When I uncheck mirrow screens and set the external display to its native resolution and switch off the internal notebook display, everything is fine again. But these settings are not saved. On the next login the screens are mirrowed again. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [jaunty] gnome-display-properties doesn't remeber settings https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329469 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 323971] Re: [jaunty] Intel graphics driver doesn't detect all possible display resolutions
It seems that I was wrong. I found a document on the dell support site where all preset display modes of my external display are listed [1]. But I know that the externel monitor is also able to display other resolutions e.g. 1440x900 (Intrepid offers this resolution). The real problem for me is that I have the 1152x864 resolution when GDM appears (the screen is mirrowed on both displays). This is neither the native resolution of notebook display nor the native resolution of the external display == I have a blurry login dialogue on both displays. But since the external monitor is able to display the notebook's resolution, it would be nice to have this one.
