[Bug 502494] Re: Plythouth doesn't start with --attach-to-session

2010-01-08 Thread Jonas Pedersen
Tried to rebuild plymouth with tracing and got a bit more information.
Looks like it is session-pseudoterminal_master_fd = posix_openpt
(O_RDWR | O_NOCTTY); that fails in open_pseudoterminal function. The
statement returns -1 and errno is set to No such file or directory.
The strange thing is that /dev/ptmx exists. Maybe it is due to some
permission issues?

Hope above can help someone to nail down this bug.

I just tested KDE-4.3.3 and the issue is still there. To prevent double
bug reports I let you decide who of us is going to do the upstream

I think you have the most details about this bug, so suggest you create it
upstream. After you have created it upstream you can link the newly created

[Bug 471717] Re: Upgrade from 8.04.3 to version 9.10 aborts

2009-11-02 Thread Jonas Pedersen
Thanks for the report. Skipping versions when upgrading is not supported
and might cause damage to your system. Please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes. You should first upgrade
to 9.04 and then to 9.10 or do a fresh install. Due to this I have
marked this bug as invalid.

I think the easiest way forward is to backup your personal data and do a
fresh install of 9.10. It might be possible to recover your system, but

2009-08-30 Thread Jonas Pedersen
I have just tried to replicate your scenario and do get a bit of
different result. Below is what I get when opening a VOB file. I have
not tried and SUB file.

Select new and add a SUB file that contains some subtitles. Press OK

I have managed to get below backtrace using gdb. I don't get the tprobe
usage message in the dialog when creating a new project and I use same
version of ksubtitleripper and transcode as bug submitter does.

I can confirm this bug.

If I look at Julian's comment in bug #384987 it is suggested that both

[Bug 359491] [NEW] Not possible to configure IP manually in kubuntu Jaunty

[Bug 350344] [NEW] Merge laptop-mode-tools 1.47-1 from Debian testing

2009-03-28 Thread Jonas Pedersen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: laptop-mode-tools

I am not sure if deadline have passed for Jaunty, but please consider
merging laptop-mode-tools 1.47-1 from Debian testing. Attached is a
debdiff with the needed Ubuntu changes.

Among the changes are:
- Support for mount options when using EXT4.
- Intel HDA power saving support.
- USB auto suspend support
- various other bug fixes and improvements.

Updated package can be found in my PPA. I have been running with it for
some time now with success.

[Bug 349114] [NEW] Rawstudio crashes on export

2009-03-26 Thread Jonas Pedersen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rawstudio

Due to a change in exiv2 (v.0.18) package Rawstudio crashes on export of
RAW images. Reason is that one of the Nikon maker tags was renamed in
v.0.18. This happens in Jaunty and is a regression error as it used to
work until exiv2 was updated to v.0.18. This error basically make
Rawstudio useless to me.

Attached debdiff for Rawstudio corrects this issue. Please sponsor
upload of this fix.

Package including this fix can be found in my PPA.

[Bug 342418] Re: KNetworkManager won't connect automatically

2009-03-13 Thread Jonas Pedersen
Thanks for the report. I have a few questions that might help solve the
issue.

1. Have you installed all updates to 8.10?
2. What type of connection do you have? Wireless, ethernet...?
3. Have you checked the auto connect check box when you create a new connection?

Thanks

[Bug 301337] Re: [i945] xserver-xorg-video-intel back-led wouldn't stay off

2009-03-05 Thread Jonas Pedersen
I am running Jaunty on my laptop and just tried to test this one and can
no longer reproduce the error, so a fix must have been released at some
point.
