[Bug 1815127] [NEW] Evolution fails to properly parse Date: header
Public bug reported: I received an email with a date header of: Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2019 19:15:39 + (UTC) It is incorrectly show as Thu 14:15 In the Date column of the message display. The month abbreviation and day number are not present. The email shows up sorted incorrectly by the Thu 14:15 date (as if it were within the last week) instead of the actual Thu, 31 Jan 2019 19:15:39 + (UTC) date. [Bug 1621203] Re: evolution/totem/gthumb crashes when run in vnc session
A similar error occurs when one attempts to run evolution on a remote X Desktop. It seems there is a dependency on direct rendering which is not available in either the VNC or remote X windows environments. Recreate with: # ssh -X servername [where the server is running Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop] # evolution libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast libEGL warning: DRI2: failed to authenticate (evolution:25704): Gdk-ERROR **: 06:48:35.588: The program 'evolution' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'. (Details: serial 207 error_code 1 request_code 153 (DRI2) minor_code 1) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) [Bug 1740416] [NEW] nfs and cifs mounts are attempted too early in boot process
Public bug reported: Systemd should automatically wait for networking and DNS systems to be in place prior to attempting to mount CIFS or NFS filesystems. This was the behavior under Ubuntu 17.04. After upgrading to 17.10 the behavior changed. Systemd no longer waits for networking and DNS to be initialized before attempting to mount network filesystems. This requires me to manually mount these systems or add a hack in the rc.local file. Adding _netdev to the fstab entry does not change the incorrect behavior. Here is the example that worked under 17.04 but no longer works under 17.10: drobo5n:/mnt/DroboFS/Shares/PublicNFS /mnt/drobo5n nfs async, proto=tcp 0 0 I also tried: drobo5n:/mnt/DroboFS/Shares/PublicNFS /mnt/drobo5n nfs _netdev,async,proto=tcp 0 0 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 Package: systemd 234-2ubuntu12.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.13.0-21.24-generic 4.13.13 Uname: Linux 4.13.0-21-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.7-0ubuntu3.6 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Thu Dec 28 12:44:04 2017 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-12-23 (370 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.10 "Yakkety Yak" - Release amd64 (20161012.2) MachineType: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. [Bug 986321] Re: READ/Write FPDMA QUEUED failures
btrfs raid10 setups cause the hardware reset to happen very frequently. I have a eSATA enclosue (SansDigital) that has two eSATA ports and contains 2 banks of 4 drives. 4 per eSATA port (port multiplier). I encounter no problems when using RAID1 with BTRFS across 8 drives. However, when I use the btrfs balance start -dconvert=raid10 -mconvert=raid10 to convert the set of 8 drives from a RAID1 to a RAID10, it all falls apart with SATA hardware resets. I am guessing that the btrfs driver sits above all this and that the error is in the SATA code and not the btrfs code which relies on it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986321 Title: READ/Write FPDMA QUEUED failures To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/986321/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 561210] Re: Writing big files to NFS target causes system lock up
Bug is back in 3.0.0-17-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 8 20:45:39 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux When copying a large file over nfs4v, Nautilus reports 606.6MB in the first progress bar update to the GUI then hangs forever. The rest of my desktop remains responsive. Nautilus, however, is not. And, I can ssh to the machine that is exporting the NFS share to which I am copying - so networking is still fine. However, any attempt to access the NFS shares from the command line simply hang forever. I am copying over GigE to a FitPCI2 (small atom based computer). I am using a fully updated Ubuntu LSB Version: core-2.0-amd64:core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-amd64:core-3.0-noarch:core-3.1-amd64:core-3.1-noarch:core-3.2-amd64:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-amd64:core-4.0-noarch Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 11.10 Release:11.10 Codename: oneiric The only reported error shows up in syslog. It is the error indicating that the nautilus process is unresponsive. The only way to clear the situation is to shutdown - which halts - I assume stuck on unmounting the NFS shares. So I have to power cycle. [Bug 961089] [NEW] NetworkManager does not understand that a bridge is an active net connection
Public bug reported: I set up a br0 (bridge) network on my destop PC in order to allow my virtual machines via KVM to be directly on my LAN instead of natted. Below is my /etc/network/interfaces file The problem is that when logged in to the X session, NetworkManager reports (via D-Bus) that I have no network connection. Any desktop apps that rely on this D-Bus message won't connect. Empathy is a big one that fits in this category. I am forced to assign my eth0 NIC an IP address of 127.0.0.1. This is a bad practice. NetworkManager needs to either understand bridges or have an override of some type. Can I simply remove NetworkManager as a work around? Will the lack of an application producing the network connected D-Bus messge mean that no app will think I am network connected? auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto br0 eth0 iface br0 inet dhcp hwaddress 00:25:61:43:bb:b8 pre-up brctl addbr br0 pre-up brctl addif br0 eth0 pre-up ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 pre-down brctl delif br0 eth0 post-down ifconfig eth0 down post-down brctl delbr br0 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: network-manager 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-16.29-generic 3.0.20 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-16-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory Date: Wed Mar 21 07:35:26 2012 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot - Release amd64 (20111012) IpRoute: default via 192.168.15.1 dev br0 metric 100 127.0.0.0/16 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 127.0.0.1 metric 1 169.254.0.0/16 dev br0 scope link metric 1000 192.168.15.0/24 dev br0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.15.2 192.168.122.0/24 dev virbr0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.122.1 NetworkManager.state: [main] NetworkingEnabled=true WirelessEnabled=true WWANEnabled=true WimaxEnabled=true RfKill: SourcePackage: network-manager UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) mtime.conffile..etc.NetworkManager.NetworkManager.conf: 2012-03-16T06:28:55.603766 ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug oneiric running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/961089 Title: NetworkManager does not understand that a bridge is an active net connection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/961089/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 939434] [NEW] Xnest and Xephyr stopped working after recent update (corrupted mem)
Public bug reported: I keep my PC up-2-date with Oneric. Within the last week, an update caused both Xephyr and Xnest to no longer work. Most likely an Xserver update or Glibc update. I run with the following command: Xephyr :1 -query 192.168.15.70 -screen 1400x1050 And see the window pop up briefly then the crash. I am attempting to connect to a Virtual Machine (kvm) that has XDMCP running in an up-2-date install of Precise Pangolin. Running using Xnest instead of Xephyr results in the same. [Bug 813581] Re: libdrm-nouveau1a
** Description changed: I installed the latest nvidia display driver for my GTX-460 video card. - In order to boot, I need to disable the nouveau model. I do this - manually by adding: + I downloaded the driver from the nvidia site. In order to boot, I need + to disable the nouveau kernel module. I do this manually by adding: nouveau.modeset=0 to the GRUB kernel boot line. I am trying to remove the actual nouveau and related packages so that I need not manually disable at boot time. However, when I attempt to remove the libdrm-nouveau1a package using Synaptic, I am asked to mark well over a hundred packages for removal. If these packages were removed it would render the system unusable. Some examples of the packages that will be removed: acpi-support agave aisleriot alsa-base apparmor compiz cron evolution gdm many of the X related binaries update-manager Something is either wrong with the package dependency check or half the system lists libdrm-nouveau1a as the only dependent package. [Bug 713807] Re: Can't see where ripped music is saved
If I do not konw the name of the song, it makes it very difficult to find it in the Rhythmbox listing. If I rip a disk that has a fingerprint that is not recognized so no metadata is retrieved, it becomes very difficult to find what was ripped. Normally, I'd gor to the directory and search by date. Then use Picard to help find and apply the meta data. So this is no so much a bug, but rather a feature request. If I could see the directory to which a CD is ripped, it would make this case much easier from a usage perspective, -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/713807 Title: Can't see where ripped music is saved -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 654916] Re: Gnome Panel Painting Incorrectly
I went back and took a closer look. Indeed my wife had set a custom background. I set it to use the theme default and the blur/gradient problem went away. However, a new problem showed. When I made the change, I got a rectangle that was not painted in the panel - see new screen-shot - of lower left hand corner of my screen. [Bug 41301] Re: Mouse clicks stop working sporadically
I have the same left mouse click stop working problem. However, this only occurs on my laptop that has a touch pad. Left clicking does not stop working on the touch pad by itself (no external mouse attached) and in tandem. Even when the external mouse looses its click, the touch pad does not. When the external mouse does loose its click, I just unplug it then plug it back in.
