[Bug 1627474] Re: ath10k_pci 0000:03:00.0: firmware crashed! (uuid n/a)
On Tue, Oct 4, 2016 at 6:25 AM Joseph Salisbury < joseph.salisb...@canonical.com> wrote: Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? No - it's a new machine on which I've installed Yakkety. Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.8 kernel[0]. Yes, though I did already try the upstream firmwares directly, which didn't fix it. [Bug 1603018] Re: snap create-user gets bad username
Assuming we don't want people to have to change usernames on SSO/LP (sometimes not even possible, if people have packages published in PPAs - from memory?), I don't (yet) see any other option than to use the username with a period from SSO/LP (which is posix compliant [1]). But can we be sure usernames with dots will be safe on other distros? (hopefully given it's within the standard). Or what other options are there? I'd be happy to provide a fix if there's a decided direction. [Bug 1581310] [NEW] ubuntu-core doesn't allow sed -i (fchown syscall)
Public bug reported: Similar to bug 1580018, I'm not sure if the default apparmor profile is not correct, or possibly this bug is invalid and `sed -i.bak` should be denied. @fgallina or @kelvin: Can you check the background for these decisions. I'm not 100% but from memory RnR used to use the SSO (well, LP) username when it has one for the user (as SSO users don't always have a username, it depends whether they have an LP account), so I don't know that we can provide a username consistently. But in Robert's case I'd imagine it's for a user who certainly does have a username (his own account?) The only consistent options I can imagine are: 1) always return the consumer key - @Robert - can you use that instead to identify (sorry, I don't know the background), and will this break anything (doubt it, if they're not broken already - if it does currently return either) 2) add a separate consumer_key which always has the consumer key. Rodney is keen for (1) so that it's consistent with the click rnr api: 21:47 < noodles> dobey: could you use a different key from the result, I mean if consumer_key was added separately? 21:48 < dobey> noodles: well i think we should match what we're doing for click; and i think software-center might be doing this comparison already anyway 21:57 < dobey> noodles: so, imo, always returning the consumer_key value for everyone in reviewer_username there, would be best 21:59 < noodles> dobey: Right, but that's exactly what Robert *doesn't* want, unless he could also identify with the consumer key? 21:59 < dobey> noodles: he can identify with the consumer key -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1564209 Title: Doesn't recognise own reviews To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rnr-server/+bug/1564209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1336742] [NEW] Caching responses with Vary header
Public bug reported: See the upstream bug report for more details [1], but it seems as though squid in trusty isn't caching any response which includes a vary header [2]. The upstream bug was fixed in 3.3.12 [3]. Steps to reproduce: * Setup an application returning responses with Vary: User-Agent * Add squid in front of an application server * Make multiple requests to squid Expected result: * Second request is a Hit Actual result: * Second (and subsequent) requests are all misses. Repeat without a Vary header and things are cached as expected. [Bug 1318144] Re: Can't edit reviews
The reviews server doesn't (didn't last time I checked [1]) allow a second review for the same user, returning a 400 not allowed [2]. The other aspect is exactly right - the click reviews server only allows creating reviews right now. It's trivial to move the other functionality across from the older deb-reviews app, but we'd like to do that as it's needed. So checking what's there, I assume the things we'll want right now are: * edit review (PUT to the review resource) * delete review (DELETE to the review resource, but doesn't delete from the db, just filters out) Things that we may need soon (and which are easy enough to do at the same time on the server): * flag a review * mark a review as useful * include review 'usefulness' on the review resource uri * Add a hal+json format for appropriate accept header (for consistency with other apis) [1] See the example at the bottom returning a 400 with the error A user cannot create multiple reviews for an app. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AppStore/Interfaces/RatingsAndReviews ** Changed in: rnr-server Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: rnr-server Importance: Undecided = High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318144 Title: Can't edit reviews To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rnr-server/+bug/1318144/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Confirmed here too. Interesting thing I noticed is that when you click Edit, the event name is in the Summary field. [Bug 1213917] Re: kworker thread 99.8 - 100% CPU after 1st suspend - no second suspend
Surprise :/, here are the steps that I took (perhaps it'll give you some information showing my mistake): 1) I downloaded and installed all the debs - note missing linux-tools: https://pastebin.canonical.com/99199/ 2) Tested: $ uname -a Linux michael-X201EP 3.11.0-12-generic #19~lp1213917v1 SMP Wed Oct 16 16:05:23 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Good (suspend/resume without kworker issues), BUT, I didn't get a wifi connection at all (even before suspend):. 3) So I apt-get -f to add linux-tools, and then ensured the lp1213917 versions were all still valid: https://pastebin.canonical.com/99211/ 4) The network issue was still there and seemed to be apparmor related: https://pastebin.canonical.com/99208/ Figuring that the network issue may be related to an apparmor update I was missing or similar, I installed the archive versions of 3.11.0-12 to verify that I'd have the same issue there (which I did - no network at all): https://pastebin.canonical.com/99210/. What I didn't do at that point, but should have in retrospect, was confirmed that suspend/resume still triggered the kworker issue. 5) I did a dist-upgrade which was huge - as I'd stopped updating after a few rounds of the bisect (I can put it on chinstrap if it's useful - note-to-self, starts at 2013-10-17 10:56:46), and sure enough, the network issue is fixed, but to my surprise, so is the kworker issue: $ uname -a Linux michael-X201EP 3.11.0-12-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 9 16:20:46 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Good. If there's something obvious that I did incorrectly, or it's obvious to you where an update may have fixed the issue, please let me know. @jsalisbury I looked at reporting upstream, and have the email ready, but I think they expect the bisect to be done also. I checked the mainline builds and it seems to be when my machine was updated from 3.10 to 3.11. That is, I can confirm that running v3.10.9-saucy installed [1] I cannot reproduce the bug (suspend works perfectly multiple times without crazy kworker threads), while v3.11-rc1 [2] breaks exactly as per the description. I'm not sure (a) if that makes sense, and (b) how I can bisect between those. I assume I'll need to go further back in the 3.11 branch upstream to where it was branched? Let me know if there are specific instructions. Thanks! Yes - I was not able to suspend/resume with Raring at all (it would wake immediately). But after updating to Saucy (and updating the bios, as you suggested), it was working perfectly in Saucy [1]. So I had a few weeks of bliss with perfect suspend/resume, and then this issue (it suspends first time, but then kworker goes to 100% after resume, and subsequent suspends fail). [Bug 1213917] Re: kworker thread consuming 99.8 - 100% CPU after update

[Bug 1206640] [NEW] Encrypted home inaccessible after iso upgrade
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: 1) Start with an existing ubuntu installation [1] with an encrypted home directory for 'username' 2) Create a bootable USB of 13.10, reboot to installer and choose the upgrade your existing ubuntu installation (ie. keep the home directory) 3) When prompted for a user name/passphrase, enter the same username and passphrase (I assumed it'd either realise it was the same or tell me to choose a different username) 4) After completion/reboot, login to the (only) 'username' account Expected result: * Login works with encrypted home being unencrypted with the (same) passphrase Actual result * Login flicks away from login screen, but then immediately returns without explanation, leaving the user unable to login. After initial panic, it turns out it was pretty simple to rectify. Doing `ls -al` for /home/username (in a rescue console) showed that all the encrypted file data was owned by uid/gid 1001 (the old username I assume). The new 'username' user had uid/gid of 1000. To fix I did the following: 1) Reboot and choose the Ubuntu advanced options grub menu item, then root shell. 2) Ensure / is writable with `mount -o remount,rw /` 3) `usermod --uid 1001 username` 4) `groupmod --gid 1001 username` Reboot and login as normal. I'm assuming there's nothing that needs to change in ecryptfs-utils but I'll add it just in case so Dustin et al can verify. [1] Note: as I'd previously upgraded to 13.10 via apt but experienced issues, I was really overriding the existing 13.10 ubuntu. [Bug 1192666] [NEW] salt-call returns incorrect exit status (ie. succeeds and returns 2)
Public bug reported: Originally reported at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=712819 I was using salt-minion from the salt PPA which is version 0.15.3, and everything was fine. [Bug 1157435] Re: Unable to enter suspend/hibernation in Ubuntu 13.04 on an Asus X201E [F201E]
I'm tagging this with regression-release, but the only last-working version I can give is the precise version. Info that I have: * suspend was working fine with Precise (the OS the machine was purchased with) and there are no updates at http://asus.archive.canonical.com/updates/dists/precise-annan/public/binary-amd64/, * suspend would work mostly with Quantal (seemed to stop suspending after 4-5 suspends - it was for this reason I tried upgrading to raring) * suspend doesn't work at all (for me) in raring as per above. This is on a machine purchased with Precise pre-installed. ** Tags added: regression-release ** Description changed: - Ubuntu 13.04 works great on my Asus X201E [F201E in Germany], the only - thing that doesn't work is suspend, as it bounces directly back into the - OS. [Bug 1052721] Re: Some packages say not available for your current Ubuntu version when viewed from purchase list
Another point (thanks Anthony): although the sca fix above ensures that buyers will no longer see a Not available for your version for multiarch apps, when they click on the Install button: * for i386 users, everything should work fine * for amd64 users, they will currently see a Not found response in USC, as the apt url provided does not include the :i386 suffix (and that isn't a problem sca can solve - as we can't know definitively the arch of the user... we do know this for chromium users, and may be able to help them). USC would ultimately need to recognise an apt://foopackage as a possible multi-arch when searching. ** Also affects: software-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052721 Title: Some packages say not available for your current Ubuntu version when viewed from purchase list To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/software-center-agent/+bug/1052721/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Will an old distroseries that doesn't understand that syntax be able to install that package if it can find it? This would mean no changes needed for the client at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901336 Title: Software center doesn't work after LP accounts merge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-identity-provider/+bug/901336/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 901336] Re: Software center doesn't work after LP accounts merge
@ricardo: that would be ideal if sca could subscribe to such events. In the mean-time, sca already (attempts to [1]) update to the current LP username the next time the user initiates a purchase (which will update the exported deblines for all purchases). We could use this same call (check_or_create_lp_user) to verify / update the username when USC requests the list of subscriptions for a user (ie. so the exported deb- lines include the correct username). This would mean that users could simply Reinstall previous purchases to sort the issue out? [2] [1] We currently have a related issue that the new username may already be present in sca and we blindly try to save a second user record with the same username, rather than (possibly) moving the subscription/openid over to the existing django user or vice-versa. [2] Although I assume USC would need to handle remove the old entries if they are found while trying to add the new ones? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901336 Title: Software center doesn't work after LP accounts merge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-identity-provider/+bug/901336/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 709125] Re: User agent doesn't include Ubuntu in it so apt.ubuntu.com doesn't work
@chris: I've just checked for the change you landed with r255, and see it must have been removed at some point. Is there a way we can have this included for apps.ubuntu.com and software-center.ubuntu.com (or *.ubuntu.com so we can test the functionality on our staging servers too)? [Bug 912509] Re: Lots of requests to the checkout complete URL
Hi Natalia - yes, the browser refresh was one of those temporary options that stuck. The plan was to have the client handle the UI straight after the purchase was initiated - bug 622732 - initially with the client polling sca via an API, but ultimately removing the need to poll at all (plenty of ways to do that these days). If you've got other ideas, please add them to the bug. [Bug 997402] Re: Buying software is impossible
Hi Jimmy and Gary. This seems to be a repeat of an issue that we also experienced on Monday - in short, our database server is getting stuck for period of time, in which the purchases can't be processed. The bug for the original issue on Monday is bug 996686 - but I'll not yet mark this as a duplicate as the other bug is private and there may be more info to collect and share here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/997402 Title: Buying software is impossible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/997402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 933300] Re: nm-applet needs restart after resume
@mathieu-tl - Since my comment above (comment 2 on 2012-02-23) I have not seen the original issue that I reported. There have been a few times where I thought my machine wasn't going to connect after a resume, but it always began animating before I'd been able to pkill nm-applet. [Bug 993233] Re: Purchased software not installed
Hi Fabio! Is it possible that you purchased Irukandji when you were running Ubuntu Natty or Maverick. It seems it was available for amd64 on those series, but is only available for i386 for Oneiric and Precise [1]. There's a comment on the changelog that mentions this decision [2], which was an unfortunate one for people like yourself who had purchased it to run on amd64. I'll notify both the person in charge of the packaging, to see if it really is not possible to publish this for amd64 as well, as well as a support person. [Bug 986021] Re: Cannot make purchase in Ubuntu Software Center
I haven't yet found the above oops (rangpur and satsuma only have pay oopses until 2012-04-19 currently), but the behaviour sounds as if SCA initiate the payment via the pay API, then redirected to the payments checkout URL (ie. HttpResponseRedirect(payment.checkout_url) ), but pay didn't recognise the payment id and 404'd.
