No one of the printers of my system is listed. So, I can't actually print anything. Correct, this occurs if at least a backup is made between the deletion of the file and the attempted restore via "restore missing". [Bug 1636255] [NEW] The "restore-missing" functionality is not working as expected
Public bug reported: I have found out that the "--restore-missing" functionality is not working as expected. I have set up déja-dup to backup some folders every day. If I delete some files today, and then I use the "restore-missing" functionality the same day (today in my example), déja-dup shows me the list of missing files as expected. The problem is that if I use the "restore-missing" functionality from tomorrow on, no files are listed anymore. It seems that "restore-missing" seeks the missing files only if the backup is made the same day that I deleted the files. The behavior I expected is that "restore-missing" should search the entire backup series, and create a list of all missing files since the first backup was made. Today, after the OTA-13 update, I have tried again with a couple of MKV video files. One of them plays good, the other not. The difference is that the file that doesn't plays has an AC3 audio track, the other not. So, I believe that actually the problem is the audio format, and not the video. Public bug reported: Trying to restore a specific version of a file, using the context menu (right click) in File/Nautilus, I found out that the window of DéjàDup doesn't shows up. The problem is that this file has an ' (apostrophe) included in his name. Just to try, I have added a second apostrophe to the name, and this time the window of DéjàDup it was open as expected. I think that there is somewhere a problem of character string, opened and closed when a filename includes an apostrophe, that ends up with an error that prevents to the DéjàDup window to open up correctly. Of course there is no problem at all, when the file names does not include an apostrophe. @Doug McMahon I don't think so because it can play for instance mp4 or avi files. Moreover MKV is a very popular container format, and not a video codec. Just upgraded my Nexus 4 to Ubuntu 14.10 ver. 71, but the Alarm function doesn't work yet when the phone is locked (black screen and in stand by, if this is the correct definition). I have tried a couple of times, but no way to hear the phone ringing. How to reproduce it? 1) set an alarm to ring in 10 minutes 2) leave the phone on the table (the phone will lock because you don't use it) 3) wait for the alarm sound but ... nothing 4) unlock the phone, and for a second, you can see the clock that still shows the time of 10 minute in the past. It's like if the entire Ubuntu OS goes in stand by when the phone is locked. Public bug reported: I have found that when I use Ubuntu SDK and I switch to the Design mode, there are 3 ghost windows that appear with the title Qml2Puppet. These windows do nothing, nor have any content. Switching again to another mode, for instance Edit mode, these 3 windows disappear. I can also add that until Ubuntu 12.10 the seahorse-plugin for nautilus worked well. Public bug reported: Recently there was an update of the deja-dup package, and since then, I have found that the scheduling is not working anymore. I mean that I have turned on Automatic Backup, and set a backup every day. This has always worked, since the installation of Ubuntu 12.04 last April, but now no more. In the settings window is displayed that the next backup is for today, but the backup never happens. Tomorrow it will be the same thing, and so on. To backup my data I have to start the process manually through the settings window with the button Run backup now (or whatever it is in English). Public bug reported: I have found a couple of problems with the launchers that are installed with this package. In the launcher seahorse-pgp-encrypted.desktop the icon is missing. In the launcher seahorse-pgp-signature.desktop the icon is missing. Also the parameter %F is missing in the command seahorse-tool --verify, and this is why the option is not present in the context menu in Nautilus. So I have corrected the two launchers in [/usr/share/applications] and now both plugins work well. Public bug reported: Since I have changed the NVidia graphic card driver from the proprietary to the open source nouveau, I have a strange problem with the response time of Nautilus and some other applications. For instance if I double click on a folder to open it, Nautilus is very slow. I have to wait more than 10 sec to have the folder opened. However, I have found by accident that if I move the mouse pointer outside the Nautilus window, the response time is very short as normally expected. [Bug 991016] [NEW] U1 synchronization is very slow in these days after the release of Ubuntu 12.04
Public bug reported: I'm not sure if this is a bug, or only a temporarily issue, but I have noticed that in these last days the U1 synchronization speed is very low. I have installed an Ubuntu 12.04 system since the second Alpha, and I have uploaded and downloaded many GB of data on my U1 account at full speed in the past months. But yesterday and today too, for 300MB I have to wait hours. Moreover in the QT Control Panel is displayed a message: File synchronization disabled that I have never seen so far (see attached screenshot), and I don't know what that means. As I said, the speed of U1 is very slow (max 60-70 KiB/s), where normally I can reach more than 2MB for download and 350KiB for upload. Moreover the speed is not constant, but it's a continued up and down (65Kib for few seconds, then 0Kib, then 40Kib, etc.). It seems that the U1 channel is not stable, and the speed through the net is inconstant. I open this bug because the difference in performance of U1 between the past months and now is really evident. The issue is still present, but I think that I have found the problem: if I try to insert a review for a package that is in a PPA, I have the error. I have also tried to insert a review for a package that is in the official repositories, and it has worked correctly. The package in the PPA is calendar-indicator (atareao-team PPA), and the official package is Recoll. This is a program that shows a windows with a list of icons. I have found that the behavior of the window is different between the two Ubuntu's versions. Today I have downloaded a daily build of Ubuntu 12.04 and tried it in a Live session (booted from an USB pen). In this case all worked well. No problems with Dash, HUD, and keyboard shortcuts over a white background. At this point I believe that the problems I have described here, are related only to my Virtualbox. I mean that it's only with Ubuntu 12.04 running in a Virtualbox that I have these issues. Hello Gunnar, thank you very much for your support. Now my locales are ok again :-) Unfortunately I'm not able to say you how the it_CH was removed. I have used Bleachbit and Ubuntu Tweak some times on my system, and both these tools can delete unused files. So I have tested if these two applications may have deleted some files that they should not have, but with no success. My it_CH locale is still there. Hello Gunnar, I can confirm you that the command 'locale -a' return me only the it_IT.utf8 locale. So, I have applied your suggestion: I removed Italian and installed it again. Unfortunately the result is the same. I still have only the it_IT.utf8 locale, and no it_CH.utf8 locale. Between the uninstall and the install I have not rebooted my system; perhaps I should reboot between the two operations? I can say you that my system with Ubuntu 12.04 is a virtual machine that was installed with alpha1, and since then I have only updated the system. I have not found a way to display the Launcher with my mouse pointer. I have to summon the Dash with the Super key, so the Launcher is temporarily displayed. Or, I have to move the window away from the Launcher area, so it can be displayed again. [Bug 923061] [NEW] The published files on Ubuntu One are not recognized in Nautilus
Public bug reported: I have noticed that, even if I have published a file on U1, in Nautilus the option copy the web link is not available. I attach to this bug report a screenshot to explain the issue. As you can see, on the left of the screenshot I have a file published. On the right of the screenshot I have the same file, locally on my disk, that should have the option to copy the URL. But the option is grayed, as if the file is not published. [Bug 919698] [NEW] The Window of System Monitor is transparent like the panel
Public bug reported: After a recently update in Ubuntu 12.04 the window of the System Monitor has the same transparency as the top panel. This is a problem because the more the panel is transparent, the more the System Monitor is difficult to read. All other windows, as far as I have seen, have only the title bar with the transparency. I have attached a screenshot to show you the issue. I don't know if this bug is really related to System Monitor, or to the Ambiance Theme of Unity, but it's the only window affected.
