[Bug 1870768] Re: Please sync ogre-1.12 from debian sid

2020-04-04 Thread Olek Wojnar
For what it's worth, I'm the Debian Developer who sponsored this upload,
and this package went through extensive QC before entering the NEW
queue. It is definitely of sufficient quality to pull into this Ubuntu
release. In addition, it will be of great value to many programs in
Ubuntu to be able to use this newer version of OGRE during the course of
this release's life cycle. Happy to discuss further if you have any
questions!

2018-10-25 Thread Olek Wojnar
Sebastien, I'm on Xubuntu 18.10 and I'm using the redshift package
through redshift-gtk. As described in the upstream bug, the problem
occurs on login when redshift attempts to start automatically and fails
due to the geoclue timeout.

Please let me know if there's anything else that you need!

[Bug 1799339] [NEW] GeoClue times out on start

2018-10-22 Thread Olek Wojnar
Public bug reported:

Due to an upstream bug
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/geoclue/geoclue/issues/84) GeoClue times
out upon startup and certain applications (such as Redshift) do not
function as intended. This has already been fixed upstream (version
2.5.0) and that version is available in Debian. Please pull the latest
Debian version to fix this bug.

[Bug 1617468] Re: Package contains files in /usr/@DATADIRNAME@/locale

2016-11-01 Thread Olek Wojnar
This problem was somehow introduced in the Ubuntu packaging since the
Debian package installs into the correct directories (verified by
opening the respective *.deb packages with Archive Manager). I ran a
diff of the two *.debian.tar.xz files and nothing jumped out at me. I'm
afraid that I don't have the time to look at the problem in more depth.
Hopefully what I did have time for helps get someone else going in the
right direction!

[Bug 1623771] Re: Sync cyphesis-cpp 0.6.2-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2016-09-14 Thread Olek Wojnar
Ubuntu Release Team:

Please consider a sync freeze exception for the latest version of
cyphesis-cpp. This version fixes a number of issues and makes code
optimizations that enable long-term sustainability. Sorry I wasn't able
to get this in before the freeze but this is really the version that we
should have in Yakkety on release. Neither upstream nor I can commit to
maintaining the older version, but we're happy to maintain this one
through the entire Yakkety life cycle.

I have verified that this package builds cleanly in my Yakkety PPA.

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information to aid in
your decision. Thank you!

[Bug 1608298] [NEW] Link failure on ppc64el

2016-07-31 Thread Olek Wojnar
Public bug reported:

I noticed that Cyphesis is not building correctly in Ubuntu on the
ppc64el architecture (without the -O2 flag). I am the Debian maintainer
for this package and I would like to fix this problem in Debian (if
possible) to avoid patching every single release before it can sync to
Ubuntu. Could someone please provide me a build log or other relevant
information so that I can try to fix this? Thanks!

Lloyd,

Hi, I'm the new maintainer for this package in Debian. I'm currently
working on fixing a configuration problem I inherited and it seems that
this bug is related to the same problem. I'm going to link it as such.
If you feel that this is incorrect, please let me know. Thanks!

[Bug 1469735] Re: when using USEDEVPTS=yes, Could not unmount dev/pts

2015-07-06 Thread Olek Wojnar
I think the problem here is that /dev/pts is actually NOT mounted. I get
the following lines (when attempting to update) in between the two code
snippets that Scott posted:

Preconfiguring packages ...
E: Can not write log (Is /dev/pts mounted?) - posix_openpt (2: No such file or
directory)

I believe that this is related to Debian Bug #788580. (Added above) The
Debian bug has been fixed so this bug should be trivial to fix by
importing pbuilder/0.215+nmu4 from Debian.

Or, to make things even easier, there's a one-line patch to fix this bug
in the Debian bug thread:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=788580#12

Long-term we should probably import the updated Debian package because
that's The Right Thing To Do, but I can confirm that the above one-liner
resolves this bug in Ubuntu.

[Bug 842405] Re: Please multiarch libfuse2

2013-03-01 Thread Olek Wojnar
This is causing a problem with http://portablelinuxapps.org/ as
described in this post:
http://portablelinuxapps.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2t=10

There may be other issues as well, however this is the only one I have
first-hand information on.

Synaptic doesn't show libfuse2:i386 in the package list... not sure if
that's a fuse issue or a Synaptic issue. When I specifically selected
the i386 architecture in Synaptic I was able to select the
libfuse2:i386 package but I got the following error when I tried to
install:

dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libfuse2_2.9.0-1ubuntu2_i386.deb
(--unpack):
trying to overwrite shared '/usr/share/doc/libfuse2/Makefile.gz', which is
different from other instances of package libfuse2:i386

I'm assuming that this is because I have the native amd64 libfuse2
installed already.

Is there some way that we could let the two architectures of libfuse2 be
concurrently installed (and preferably have libfuse2:i386 show up by
default on the amd64 package list)? Thanks!

[Bug 367322] Re: kernel upgrade fails during jaunty upgrade

I stopped after the first failed upgrade and my system is still running

[Bug 206924] Re: Make it possible to create a guest account

2008-12-28 Thread Olek Wojnar
I don't think that this is really usable as currently implemented in
Intrepid. If I'm there to type in my password then why bother with a
guest account?? I understand the security concerns of a passwordless
account, but if someone is logging into local GDM and I'm not around the
presence of a password won't stop them from doing something bad.

I think that there should be an option to allow guest login from GDM and
a locked screen as stated here: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/15464/

[Bug 256429] Re: Intrepid regression: carriage-return required after finger scan

2008-12-21 Thread Olek Wojnar
FWIW, _how_ we fix the bug will be transparent to the end user but not
being able to use their fingerprint scanners is _VERY_ visible. It
makes Ubuntu look bad, no matter where the actual fault lies for the
problem. If it really is a simple workaround, my preference would be to
document that and go with it until upstream gets around to fixing the
hal bug. Just my two cents...

[Bug 178058] Re: [Hardy] Desktop Screen extends too far

2008-01-21 Thread Olek Wojnar
Ummm... that might not be the only issue here. My situation has
improved a little since I went through the mind-numbing pain of getting
the ATI driver running correctly in Kubuntu. Not really as intuitive as
one might think... :-/

However, even though my monitor doesn't cut the panel off anymore, the
windows STILL seem to think that the screen is wider than it really is
and it's getting really annoying to keep scrolling in Firefox (and
others) because the information in the window is wider than the width of
the window. In my case, it seems to be an OS issue and not a display
issue.

Re: [Bug 91825] Re: kvpnc does not disconnect from VPN (fix available upstream)

2008-01-05 Thread Olek Wojnar
Honestly, I haven't tried using kvpnc since Network Manager got the
capability to do VPN. Let's try to install it again and see what happens...

Ok, reinstalled kvpnc v 0.8.9-1. It successfully connects to the VPN
now, but when I try to open Terminal Server Client (tsclient
0.148-3ubuntu1) it times out trying to connect. Connection works
normally when connected to the VPN through Network Manager. If you have
any other fixes or new versions available I'll be happy to try them out
and let you know if they work.

[Bug 159898] Screem does not remember completed rename actions

2007-11-04 Thread Olek Wojnar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: screem

Background: I needed to change about 40-50 filenames on a site that I
manage through Screem. Easy enough, I changed the files names in
Nautilus on the local copy of the files, hit upload in Screem and
watched it go to work. Unfortunately, it seemed to not remember that it
had deleted the old files off the server and copied the new files into
place. Every time I update now it tries to delete the non-existent old
files and reuploads most of my site! It is also repeatedly uploading
new files that I added to the site by placing them in the local
directory using Nautilus. Quite time-consuming and frustrating.

I am running Gutsy on a Toshiba Satellite 1130-S155. Please let me know
if you need any additional information on my hardware or system/program
settings.

To reproduce:

1) Rename one or more files on the local copy of the Website.
2) Select Tools-Upload.
3) Observe as old files is deleted from site and new file is uploaded.
4) Select Tools-Upload.
3) Observe as Screem tries to delete the non-existent files and reuploads both
name-changed and new files.

Thanks!

2007-11-04 Thread Olek Wojnar
Ok, couple more duplicates of previous crashes. This time it happened
while I was typing. I think it was a ) character at that precise
moment.

...This time while pressing Ctrl-C. I hope this isn't getting too
frustrating to read through. Please keep in mind that I am actually
trying to do work here as I'm filing these updates. Very frustrating
here. And I'm only filing about the crashes which happen in a new
way...

[Bug 133043] Re: Cannot close About window

2007-11-03 Thread Olek Wojnar
I have this problem too with Gutsy on my Toshiba laptop.

Alt-F4 doesn't work either to close.

When upstream releases a fix, this should get pushed out as an update.

[Bug 145331] Re: screem just shuts with no message

2007-11-03 Thread Olek Wojnar
This happens on the release version of Gutsy too. Suggest reopening.

I'm afraid that I can't be any more specific than the original report.
I generally can't use Screem for more than about 10-15 minutes before it
closes. It's pretty frustrating when you're working on many files
simultaneously and possibly haven't saved all your files. There is no
one thing that I'm doing that causes it to crash. Possibly switching
between files? Each time it happened I had at least 6 or so files open.
I hope that helps a little.

I'll update this bug report if I notice anything new.

[Bug 155648] Re: Regression: Thunderbird New Mail sound cuts off before end

2007-10-28 Thread Olek Wojnar
Unfortunately, it seems that I spoke too soon. :( The bug came back
after I rebooted. I've also noticed the same problem with the GNOME
Login manager sounds. Interestingly enough, the system sounds manager
seems to work fine. I'm not sure if this is a related bug in the Login
manager or if the bug is actually in a third package.

I have a pretty standard Gutsy install on a Toshiba Satellite 1130-S155
laptop. Please let me know if you need any additional information!

[Bug 155648] Regression: Thunderbird New Mail sound cuts off before end

2007-10-21 Thread Olek Wojnar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

To reproduce:

1) Receive new mail
2) Listen to new mail sound

Expected:
Selected sound file will play completely

Actual:
Sound file cuts off about 1 second before end. Tested with several different
.wav files.

This happened a while back, I think in Edgy. It was subsequently fixed
but it's happening again now since I upgraded to Gutsy. Thanks!

[Bug 121420] Is this package still being maintained?

2007-08-17 Thread Olek Wojnar
Please don't take this the wrong way, but is this package still being
actively maintained in Ubuntu?

This is a very powerful suite of programs and the new version will offer
so much more to Ubuntu users and administrators. This version was
released two and a half months ago and has been in Debian Experimental
since shortly after that.

I'm not sure what sorts of hurdles exist with bringing this much-
improved version onboard. I've talked to other administrators who were
running the developmental 1.3 version on operational systems. I
currently run 1.2 on my server and I'll be more than happy to help test
new packages. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Thanks!

[Bug 121420] Wishlist: New stable egoupware release available

2007-06-20 Thread Olek Wojnar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: egroupware

A new stable version of eGroupWare was released on 4 June. Version 1.4
contains many enhancements which will greatly benefit Ubuntu users.

More information is available on SF:
https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=78745package_id=79971release_id=513311

This version is already packaged in Debian Experimental:
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/web/egroupware

...however, the Debian version is missing the new egroupware-gallery module
package:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/egroupware/eGroupWare-gallery-1.4.001.tar.bz2?use_mirror=umn

Could we please add this package in Ubuntu? Thanks!

[Bug 112891] Broken link See complete list on eGroupWare Wiki RecentChanges page

2007-05-06 Thread Olek Wojnar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: egroupware-wiki

To reproduce:
1) Click on Recent Changes link from any wiki page
2) Click on See complete list (xx entries) link at bottom (assuming you have
more entries than are shown in the default list length)

Expected:
Complete list of Recent Changes will be displayed

Actual:
Wiki main page is displayed

Solution:

This should be a trivial fix, I'm just not sure where it needs to be made. The
See complete list (xx entries) link is currently:
http://hostname.net/egroupware/index.php?menuaction=wiki.uiwiki.viewpage=full=1;
When it should actually be as follows:
http://hostname.net/egroupware/index.php?menuaction=wiki.uiwiki.viewpage=RecentChangesfull=1;

Please let me know if there is any additional information that I can
provide. Thanks!
