Public bug reported: ciencia.fortunes is more related to religion than to science. `grep Dios /usr/share/games/fortunes/es/ciencia.fortunes | wc -l` return 73 lines with the word "God". [Bug 295876] Re: top and ps truncate command after 15 chars
The reason is in kernel TASK_COMM_LEN (check man proc) constant fixed to 16 (name + \0). A guy called [Luben Tuikov][0] proposed to increase this back on 2006 ([last lines][1] of sys.c). Even if this is too difficult because of mysterous complicated reasons pgrep should search on the complete name, not the truncated version (/proc/PID/comm, /proc/PID/status | grep ^Name). Maybe something like grep -hoa "\/[^/]*$" /proc/*/cmdline | grep -a pattern [or][2] ps aux | grep "[p]attern". With -f "the full command line is used" (/proc/PID/cmdline, readlink /proc/PID/exe). This is too broad. Something similar happen with the 4096 B limit of PAGE_SIZE. In that case the solution is easy, [just recompile the kernel][3] with a new value... :s [0](http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0606.2/3139.html) [1](https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/kernel/sys.c#n2544) [2](https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/74186/209677) [3](https://stackoverflow.com/a/199199/4970442) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295876 Title: top and ps truncate command after 15 chars To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/procps/+bug/295876/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1475750] [NEW] Can't create AP hotspots in ubuntu 14.04

But the problem is that, support for AP mode hotspot haven't yet been implemented in Network Manager's Gnome frontend. This means that you can't create an AP mode Hotspot directly from the GUI, atleast for now. But, Network Manager's KDE frontend has already implemented support for AP mode hotspots. [Bug 611020] Re: /lib/udev/iphone-set-info consumes 99% CPU
I'm not sure if it has something to do, but in my case (iPod Touch 2G) both iphone-set-info and gvfs-afc-volume-monitor starts consuming all CPU. Killing iphone-set-info makes gvfs-afc-volume-monitor on the top of the list all time. The problem with gvfs-afc-volume-monitor is BUG #543597. Disconnecting and connecting again doesn't change anything. I should restart because no longer detect my iPod, but it may have something to do with a fast disconnection/connection of the device. -- /lib/udev/iphone-set-info consumes 99% CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/611020 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 40872] Re: Desktop icons are allowed to overlap
See this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6512055postcount=6 I think ive found a solution in gconf-editor: apps nautilus icon-view, then check default_use_tighter_layout. this solves the horizontal overlap. the vertical overlap problem still remains since the align grid gets smaller, but using Clean up name helps. On Thu, Jul 3, 2008 at 4:19 PM, Chris Cheney [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: This appears to be a problem of compiz overriding openoffice shortcuts. I have found the reason.
