[Bug 1821700] Re: sox crashed with SIGFPE

2021-06-28 Thread PabloAB
This crash seems to be produced by something like `invalidCommand |
/usr/bin/play -t mp3 -`. I was using it with gtts-cli inside crontab.

[Bug 1827176] [NEW] Quotes not related to subjects

2019-05-01 Thread PabloAB
Public bug reported:

ciencia.fortunes is more related to religion than to science. `grep Dios
/usr/share/games/fortunes/es/ciencia.fortunes | wc -l` return 73 lines
with the word "God".

Please notice I'm not discussing about religion vs science. I believe
ven the pope would agree that at least half of the quotes on
ciencia.fortunes are much more related to religion and nothing at all to
science. Those should be moved to a religion.fortunes instead.

The same thing happen with other list of quotes. Would be better a more
clear and open criteria.

[Bug 1433774] Re: When double clicking an executable bash script in file manager, it opens in gedit rather than executing

As I said on [this][1] probable upstream issue this bug seems to be
reduced just to have by default 'ask' or 'launch' as the default value
for key `executable-text-activation` (on
org.gnome.nautilus.preferences), or I'm missing something?

[Bug 1722286] Re: Same action is forced for lid-close on AC and lid-close on battery

2019-02-24 Thread PabloAB
It seems there is no issue filed upstream. The closest thing I'd found is:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-settings-daemon/issues/111
Nothing about lid-close-ac-action and lid-close-battery-action.
I'm not sure if an upstream bug issue should be filed.

I read [this][1] and [this][2] on but only locks when lid-close.

[Bug 1812266] Re: Keyboard layout indicator does not indicate current layout (18.04 Bionic beaver)

2019-02-03 Thread PabloAB
Answering @sil2100 / Łukasz Zemczak, comment #17:

- I can't verify Cosmic because (as said on Description and title) I'm using
Bionic.
- About links (Testing/EnableProposed QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification): tl;dr,
but either way, as said, I'm using bionic. Should be a *easy and safety way* to
test a certain proposed package.

PS, taking advantage of the visibility of this bug: I hope some day this
awful obsolete site uses something like Gitlab!

2019-01-26 Thread PabloAB
** Description changed:

  Upstream issue: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/913

  [ Impact ]

Keyboard Layout indicator don't display current layout (empty selected
  drop down box)

  [ Test case ]

  1. Boot
  2. Suspend or lock the screen
  3. Log again with your user
  4. The keyboard indicator should display current layout

  [ Regression Potential ]

Really low, we properly pass a null value instead of an undefined one,
  without breaking JS.

  Steps to reproduce the bug:

  1. After normal boot, suspend or lock.
  2. Login again.

Result: Keyboard Layout indicator don't display current layout (empty
  selected drop down box)

- A temporal workaround is to switching with keyboard (Super+space) or
- mouse. BUT if you then logout on the login screen *when you press the
- first character* of the password the shown selected keyboard layout
- resets.

If twinview is the same as "mirror displays" I still have the problem on Ubuntu
xenial 16.04 (2018!): When mirroring and zoom, the only thing happend is the
cursor/pointer became invisible.
Tried mmalmeida (ex wild_oscar?) solution of comment #9. That "fix" the problem
but when displays are not mirrored external display look all stretched and
mouse clic are ~ 70 px at the right of where the visible mouse pointer is.

[Bug 295876] Re: top and ps truncate command after 15 chars

2018-03-05 Thread PabloAB
The reason is in kernel TASK_COMM_LEN (check man proc) constant fixed to
16 (name + \0). A guy called [Luben Tuikov][0] proposed to increase this
back on 2006 ([last lines][1] of sys.c). Even if this is too difficult
because of mysterous complicated reasons pgrep should search on the
complete name, not the truncated version (/proc/PID/comm,
/proc/PID/status | grep ^Name).

Maybe something like grep -hoa "\/[^/]*$" /proc/*/cmdline | grep -a
pattern [or][2] ps aux | grep "[p]attern".

With -f "the full command line is used" (/proc/PID/cmdline, readlink
/proc/PID/exe). This is too broad.

Something similar happen with the 4096 B limit of PAGE_SIZE. In that
case the solution is easy, [just recompile the kernel][3] with a new
value... :s

[Bug 1475750] [NEW] Can't create AP hotspots in ubuntu 14.04

2015-07-17 Thread PabloAB
Public bug reported:

From
http://askubuntu.com/questions/180733/how-to-setup-an-access-point-mode-wi-fi-hotspot
Ubuntu 14.04LTS Trusty Tahr's default Network Manager (network-manager
v9.8.8) already has the ability to start Access Point mode WiFi hotspot. But
the problem is that, support for AP mode hotspot haven't yet been implemented
in Network Manager's Gnome frontend. This means that you can't create an AP
mode Hotspot directly from the GUI, atleast for now. But, Network Manager's KDE
frontend has already implemented support for AP mode hotspots. This is why
Kubuntu and other KDE based distro users can directly start AP mode hotspots,
even though they're having the same version of Network Manager backend.

So, it looks this front-just need to implement this feature.

[Bug 687749] Re: Paste clipboard contents into a file

2015-06-30 Thread PabloAB
I was about to create something similar: Paste image from clipboard to
a new file. Creating from other sources might be a little more
difficult. For each mime/type should be some sort of default
assumptions. For example, if you copy an image to clipboard (let's say a
screenshot of a region) and then paste it, could do it with
timestamp_clipboard-image.jpg, and customizable from an XML/YAML.

2013-09-03 Thread PabloAB
Thank you very much Andew! I add a comment about this on
https://github.com/Guake/guake/issues/170 :
Do you know how to just set to bold instead of changing color background? I'm
not familiar with gtk related source code.

On Guake v0.4.4 the patch just add on /usr/bin/guake (just before bnt.show()
on add_tab subroutine, line 1228):
bnt.modify_bg(gtk.STATE_ACTIVE, gtk.gdk.Color(#CEE0A6))

[Bug 574921] Re: ffmpeg: unrecognized option '--ar'

2010-10-25 Thread PabloAB
I don't think is a user mistake, or a invalid bug report. I reproduce it:
1) Open a .m4a audio file.
2) Concert to: Audio. Device preset: MP3
3) Bitrate: 64. Sample Rate: 22000. Audio channels: 1
I believe a GUI should made things more easy and a friendly way to avoid users
errors, with for example comboboxes and presets options...

[Bug 611020] Re: /lib/udev/iphone-set-info consumes 99% CPU

2010-10-12 Thread PabloAB
I'm not sure if it has something to do, but in my case (iPod Touch 2G) both
iphone-set-info and gvfs-afc-volume-monitor starts consuming all CPU. Killing
iphone-set-info makes gvfs-afc-volume-monitor on the top of the list all time.
The problem with gvfs-afc-volume-monitor is BUG #543597.
Disconnecting and connecting again doesn't change anything.
I should restart because no longer detect my iPod, but it may have something
to do with a fast disconnection/connection of the device.

[Bug 40872] Re: Desktop icons are allowed to overlap

2010-08-16 Thread PabloAB
See this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6512055postcount=6
I think ive found a solution in gconf-editor: apps nautilus icon-view,
then check default_use_tighter_layout. this solves the horizontal overlap. the
vertical overlap problem still remains since the align grid gets smaller, but
using Clean up name helps.
I think this should be the default setup.

Re: [Bug 244088] Re: Nonprinting characters shortcut doesn't work (Ctrk+F10)

This appears to be a problem of compiz overriding openoffice shortcuts.

I have found the reason. It has nothing to do with Compiz (that is
disabled). I go to KDE Keyboard shortcuts settings. Even I'd
configured to only have two desktop, switching between them with
Ctrl+F1 and Ctrl+F2 (I used up to 4), KDE by default (at least on
Kubuntu 8.04) is configured to use from Ctrl+F1 up to Ctrl+F12, and
overriding any other software shortcut. So: KDE should change
shortcut to goes up to Ctrl+Fn, where n is the number of desktop the
user choose/configured.

I'm not how the story goes. Who contact KDE developers to fix this bug?

[Bug 244088] [NEW] Nonprinting characters shortcut doesn't work (Ctrk+F10)

2008-06-29 Thread PabloAB
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Simply, pressing Ctrl+F10 is NOT the same as pressing the button of the
Standar toolbar of Nonprinting characters. Going to ViewNonprinting
characters works too, so the only problem is that Ctrl+F10 shortcut
doesn't work.

It might have something to do with Compiz-fusion, because y had other
problems around this with it.
