[Bug 1949630] Re: kmail upgrade to 20.10 mysql corruption / data loss
Ok - I have a working version based on a new db_data directory (none of my local mail folders exist)- I've stopped akonadi, replaced the db_data with the backup I made _after_ the problem started - I don't have a backup of this prior to the start of the problem. [Bug 1949630] [NEW] kmail upgrade to 20.10 mysql corruption / data loss
Public bug reported: I upgraded from 20.04->21.04-21.10 Once at 21.10 everything seem to work fine (yesterday) but today a massive lot of updates were installed (not unexpected) however during these updates kmail stopped working. Once I got around to restarting kmail (no change) I discovered akonadi had crashed and would not start again. Much digging around later it seems it is because mysql will not start and much digging around later it looks like the data in db_data is corrupt. Specifically there is something wrong with ib_logfile0 and it seems to expect ib_logfile1 to be present but it isn't. So at this point I made a copy of this directory and trying loads of different stuff (found on the internet) nothing has fixed it. Deleting ib_logfile0 allows akonadi to start and I have my IMAP accounts but several years worth of mail in my local mail directories has been lost. I have no idea what has gone wrong. kmail crashed because akonadi crashed. Akonadi crashed during a big bunch of updates after upgrading from 21.04 to 21.10. Prior to the crash it appeared to be running fine on 21.10. I do not know where to start with recovery of my mail or where the bug belongs or what the bug is only that akonadi borked during updates and it appears I've lost emails as a result. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: akonadi dist-upgrade kmail -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1949630 Title: kmail upgrade to 20.10 mysql corruption / data loss To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1949630/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1888598] Re: Pulseaudio breaks HDMI audio on sleep/wake
I have this bug _but_ it went away about two months ago after some updates but has returned with vengeance a couple of updates ago and after the latest updates (including kernel and pulseaudio) it's really borked. Previously I'd have no sound until I did pulseaudio -k which would fix everything. Now if I do this I _still_ have no audio until I run pavucontrol and reselect my sound device (which pavucontrol says is unavailable), then restart all my sound producing programs and, because the volume controls in KDE are broken, I have to restart plasmashell. pulseaudio 1.13.99 kernel 5.4.0-77-generic Happens everytime my computer sleeps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1888598 Title: Pulseaudio breaks HDMI audio on sleep/wake To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1888598/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1902526] [NEW] arduino font
Public bug reported: The package arduino now starts with menu fonts I'd guess appear to be 4pt in size. I can't read any of them, set any option or anything. It's basically unusuable. The font size does not appear to respond to any font settings I can find in kde - I guess there might be a font setting for menus in the application itself but it is unusable so I can't set this even if there is. [Bug 1901386] [NEW] no sound after resume
Public bug reported: Kubuntu 20.04. Sound via HDMI Sometimes after resume sound output is disabled. I cannot determine what causes it but it occurs about 20% of the time. I think I have a lead on this problem - it appears to be solved for me (no problems in the last 24hrs) but the solution is a little bizarre and points to a deeper problem: power devil also appeared to have a problem since the updates sometimes being unresponsive and has been reporting this delightfully uninformative error: PowerDevil::Action::trigger: Unsatisfied policies, the action has been aborted Through trial and error by, selecting and deselecting power management options, I tracked this error down to the option: On AC Power: Display Brightness - by deselecting this option the .xsession message has vanished and since then the keyboard has been working fine and the xmodmap setup has stuck without being forgotten. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1263080 Title: keyboard stops working KDE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/1263080/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1263080] [NEW] keyboard stops working KDE
Public bug reported: Since a few updates over the last two weeks the keyboard on my laptop (macbook air 4.2) stops responding 2-3 times a day on light use. I find no messages looking at the system logs (via dmesg). KDE seems unaware of the problem. The mouse works and the only way I can fix the problem is to use the mouse to logout or reboot. I cannot use the keyboard to switch to a console screen. The only button that does anything is the power button. Previous to the last two weeks it has been fine although I recall a similar problem a year or so ago (I think this was less frequent and one day just was fixed presumably after some update). I use xmodmap to remap the apple keys to mouse buttons to overcome the lack of a three button mouse and during the same period I've had a few instances recently when this remapping has been forgotten and has needed to be reapplied. I have also noticed that when the keyboard is dead the caps lock key and the keyboard backlight don't work (caps lock key is a good test since it normally lights up). ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1263080 Title: keyboard stops working KDE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/1263080/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1194151] [NEW] movies don't play libreoffice impress
Public bug reported: I prepared a presentaion on my laptop under k 12.10, now I've moved it to my desktop (13.04) it won't work. On loading it takes an _age_ around 30s to render each page and is frozen while it waits. It won't play an embedded movies. Testing shows that a presentation without movies in it behaves just fine - adding a movie to creates the same problem as above. The odd thing is that will it is so slow and is dead between pages it is not using any CPU as measured by top. It is also spamming the console with: (soffice:11475): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (soffice:11475): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (soffice:11475): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_element_get_bus: assertion `GST_IS_ELEMENT (element)' failed (soffice:11475): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_bus_add_watch_full: assertion `GST_IS_BUS (bus)' failed (soffice:11475): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_bus_set_sync_handler: assertion `GST_IS_BUS (bus)' failed (soffice:11475): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Which may or may not be related to the go-slow / don't play movies I had to install ubuntu-restricted-extras and all the gstreamer plugins manually for gstreamer1.0 (0.1 had been installed correctly) So this looks like an incorrect set of dependencies somewhere and terrible error reporting that looks the responsibility of libreoffice. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1194151 Title: movies don't play libreoffice impress To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/1194151/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
