[Bug 1865913] Re: amdgpu drivers crashe is very often

2020-06-13 Thread Serg
Hi Matias!
Thanks for your suggestion, but it did not help me ;(
Hangs are occurring periodically as with previous version of firmware.

In any way, thanks!

[Bug 1865913] [NEW] amdgpu drivers crashe is very often

2020-03-03 Thread Serg
Public bug reported:

HP ProBook 455 G6 (6MQ06EA#ACB)

Has been installed ubuntu-18.04.4-desctop-amd64, uname:
Linux probook 5.3.0-40-generic #32~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Feb 3 14:05:59 UTC
2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

linux-generic-hwe-18.04:  Installed: 5.3.0.40.97
linux-firmware:  Installed: 1.173.15

After installation has been detected often 'screen freeze' or 'black
screen' during boot time which can be avoided by hard reset only.

BIOS has been upgraded to latest version 01.09.00 Rev.A, 28 Oct 2019

For problem investigation has been disabled Xorg/GDM3 startup on boot time by:
systemctl set-default multi-user.target
And disable 'quet spalsh' kernel boot parameters in grub

Now I can see booting process and reboot system by [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] if
terminal is freezing. And have system when I can successively booting
one time per 3-9 attempts.

Bad boot attempts contain lines in /var/log/syslog (see attachment) like:

[Bug 1780158] [NEW] Automatically rebooting on kernell bootstrap with 'amd64-microcode' package

2018-07-04 Thread Serg
Public bug reported:

kernel 3.13.0-151 brings amd/intel microcode packages.
After reboot
1) Shows BIOS info
2) Shows GRUB menu
3) Starts kernel booting
4) without 'Ubuntu' splash goto (1)

I had purged amd64-microcode package, and all was working fine.
Today upgrade kernel to 3.13.0-153, and also install amd64-microcode package.
After rebooting the situation arose again. After removing amd64-microcode
package the new kernel boots fine.

[Bug 1621663] [NEW] List in forms dialog only has width when called with other items

2016-09-08 Thread Serg
Public bug reported:

When calling

zenity --forms --add-list my_list --list-values="one|two|three"

the resulting list has minimal width making the list unviewable. If
called with something else , it assumes the width of the other item,
like

zenity --forms --add-list my_list --list-values="one|two|three"
--add-entry "TEST"

 This doesn't happen with any other item called by itself, for instance

 zenity --forms --add-combo "TST" --combo-values "one|two|three"

will assume width sufficient to display all the items

[Bug 562361] Re: ftpfs crashes when connecting (4.7.0)

2010-09-03 Thread Serg
I am not big specialist in linux and I dont know how to make this log.
But I give you full information how to reproduce this bug.

If you want to see that, you need only:
1. PC # 1 + Ubuntu 10.04 live cd/dvd,
   (for clear situation, nothing installed)
2. mc-4.7.0.deb (from Ubuntu 10.04),
3. mc-4.6.2.deb (from Ubuntu 9.10),
4. PC # 2 with installed Windows XP
5. PC # 1 and PC # 2 connected over LAN
6. PC # 2 connected to Internet by 2nd Ethernet card
7. on PC # 2 installed proxy UserGate 2.8
   (I dont know, may be same situation with other proxy)
8. Try to access any FTP site from PC # 1
   (your joke about archive.ubuntu.com I dont understand)

MY PROBLEM IS SOLVED: I am returned to mc 4.6.2.
How about other people?

ftpfs_first_cd_then_ls=1
ftp_proxy_host=10.0.0.95

ftpfs: failed; nowhere to fallback to
mc displays red box Cannot chdir to /#ftp:... and stays in local directory

[Bug 577594] [NEW] No write permission to files on external HDD (USB)

2010-05-08 Thread Serg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udisks

External HDD (WD) with USB connection was successfully connected in Karmic.
Immediately after upgrade to Lucid was mounted as /media/usb0 and not as his
label. Has no write permissions, belongs to root.
sudo chown doesn't work:
$chown: changing ownership of `/media/usb1': Operation not permitted

$mount:
/dev/sda1 on / type ext3 (rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
none on /sys type sysfs (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
none on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw)
none on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw)
none on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw)
none on /dev type devtmpfs (rw,mode=0755)

none on /lib/init/rw type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,mode=0755)
none on /var/lib/ureadahead/debugfs type debugfs (rw,relatime)

binfmt_misc on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc
(rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev)
gvfs-fuse-daemon on /home/myuser/.gvfs type fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon
(rw,nosuid,nodev,user=myuser)

$ ls -ld /media/usb1
drwxr-xr-x 13 root root 16384 1970-01-01 03:00 /media/usb1

I suspend something was broken when upgraded.. Is there any workaround
to get wirte permissions back?

[Bug 372014] Re: errors in dmesg

2009-12-28 Thread Serg Alexv
Hey, guys with no errors, see dmesg | grep eCryptfs not ecryptfs.
I have karmic with 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu... and my dmesg is full of
...
[ 1842.564107] Valid eCryptfs headers not found in file header region or xattr
region
[ 1842.564116] Either the lower file is not in a valid eCryptfs format, or the
key could not be retrieved. Plaintext passthrough mode is not enabled;
returning -EIO
[ 1842.564309] Valid eCryptfs headers not found in file header region or xattr
region
[ 1842.564315] Either the lower file is not in a valid eCryptfs format, or the
key could not be retrieved. Plaintext passthrough mode is not enabled;
returning -EIO
...

ecryptfsd -V
ecryptfsd (ecryptfs-utils) 81

But my system works fine and I have no any troubles with crashes or file
accessing. Is my encryption actually works? (-:

[Bug 483841] Re: Kernel crashes when switching to external monitor with Fn+F5 key (ASUS eeePC 901)

2009-11-25 Thread serg-157
Additional information that might be helpful:
1) The same result (system hangs up) you can get if you use Display dialog
instead of Fn+F5 combination to switch to external monitor (or vise versa);
2) The way how system hangs up is similar to Fn+F2 bug
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404626);
3) If I use xrandr to change target monitor, it works without any problem
(xrandr --output VGA1 --auto xrandr --output LVDS1 --off)
4) The kernel update 2.6.31-15, that was recently delivered, did not fix ti;
5) If I use ONLY external monitor and put my system to suspend mode closing
netbook lid, it turns on BOTH (VGA and LCD) monitors when wakes up. With Jaunty
it worked correct;
