At this point, if I press ctrl+alt+F1, F2 until F6, I can do a shell login, then write startx and the desktop loads well. But, obviously, this is a very bad problem and need to be fixed. uname -a Linux xxx-xxx 2.6.24-16-generic #1 x86_64 GNU/Linux Ask me if you need other infos. [Bug 210768] Re: Intel Corporation 82801H Audio doesn't work on kernel 2.6.24-12
it doesn't work, says: sudo: ./alsa-info.sh: command not found I've downloaded the file from http://hg.alsa-project.org/alsa/raw- file/tip/alsa-info.sh is ok? Update: yesterday hardy release the last kernel, 2.6.24-15, but nothing changes. I'm wondering if it could be a problem of software or activation of the microphone. How can i check this? [Bug 210768] [NEW] Intel Corporation 82801H Audio doesn't work on kernel 2.6.24-12
Public bug reported: Hi have a notebook Dell xps M1530, I'm using KUBUNTU 8.04, all updated. The problem is about this Audio card: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02) The internal microphone doesn't work. The manual for the 7.10 says to install manually the alsa drivers 1.0.16, but on hardy this doesn't fix it. The problem seems related to the last kernel 2.6.24-12 but, well, of course I don't think the solution is to downgrade... Any suggestions or ideas? [Bug 187406] Re: [hardy] Amarok install-mp3 fails silently
So, I have just installed the kubuntu hardy 32bit alpha 5 and the problem is still here. I can't believe this goes up since the 7.04 and never solvedI fix it simply installing the libxine1-ffmpeg but it's so a bad presentation for all the friends who try the first time ubuntu, and find always this problem.
