Didn't solve for me either. Which version has the API keys updated?

Here's my apt-cache policy for gwibber:

I can also confirm the workaround. My suggestion is to make the About
me application work like Evolution's address book: if there's no system
address book, create one.

[Bug 760724] [NEW] Missing symbolic links for pt-br dictionary in /usr/share/myspell/dicts

2011-04-14 Thread Vítor Souza
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: myspell-pt-br

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release:11.04

$ apt-cache policy myspell-pt-br
myspell-pt-br:
  Installed: 20101030-1
  Candidate: 20101030-1
  Version table:
 *** 20101030-1 0
500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

en-us and it-it symbolic links exist in /usr/share/myspell/dicts. As a
visible consequence, you can spell check in these languages in Firefox,
for instance. Although myspell-pt-br is installed, there's no link for
it in that same folder, so Firefox doesn't offer Brazilian Portuguese as
a language for spell checking.

I added them as root pointing to the hunspell dictionaries:

$ ls -l /usr/share/myspell/dicts/pt*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-14 16:04 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/pt_BR.aff
- ../../hunspell/pt_BR.aff
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-14 16:04 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/pt_BR.dic
- ../../hunspell/pt_BR.dic

When I restarted Firefox, Brazilian Portuguese was now an option for
spell checking.

On a side note, I wanted to as you: why are there two links for each
language in /usr/share/myspell/dicts/? E.g. one is en-US (with dash) and
the other is en_US (with underscore):

$ ls -l /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en*.aff
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-13 13:41 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en_US.aff
- ../../hunspell/en_US.aff
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 2011-04-13 13:41 /usr/share/myspell/dicts/en-US.aff
- ../../hunspell/en_US.aff

That makes Firefox recognize two different U.S. English dictionaries.
Are both symlinks really necessary?

Thanks,
- Vítor

[Bug 758522] Re: Nautilus unusable: every action takes CPU usage to 100% and freezes the UI for 10 seconds

I don't know if this is what the status Opinion is for, but I think
that Nautilus should warn the user if he puts too many things in the
Templates folder. In any case, I'll leave this issue as it is now. You,
the developers, can decide what to do w.r.t it. Thanks!

[Bug 758522] Re: Nautilus unusable: every action takes CPU usage to 100% and freezes the UI for 10 seconds

2011-04-13 Thread Vítor Souza
This bug was bothering me too much and because of other (unrelated)
reasons I decided to reinstall Ubuntu 11.04. After I reinstalled I did
an apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade and rebooted. After the system
was restarted the problem did not present itself.

I will check if it comes back as I install some extra packages, such as
DropBox's nautilus extension or the Open Terminal Here script or
something. Will let you know if I find something out. If after
everything the problem doesn't present itself, I'll mark this as
invalid.

Thanks for your attention.

On my second reinstall, I did apt-get upgrade instead of apt-get dist-
upgrade. Then I installed the packages separately. I show below each
separate installation with the name of the package I wanted to install

[Bug 758522] Re: Nautilus unusable: every action takes CPU usage to 100% and freezes the UI for 10 seconds

2011-04-13 Thread Vítor Souza
I finally found out the issue! It turns out it has something to do with
xdg-user-dirs.

When Ubuntu was first installed, it created the usual xdg-user-dirs such
as Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc. etc. It also creates a Templates
folder, for which I have no use. However, I like the little icon it
shows, so I change its name to Temp and use it as a temporary folder
(stores anything I'm working with temporarily).

Once I restored my backup and moved the old contents of Temp to the XDG
Templates folder (which now was also called Temp), nautilus spiked 100%
CPU usage and became unusable! My old Temp folder has 26,732 items,
totaling 334.6 MB. I don't know if it is the number of items or the
overall size that triggers the behavior.

Can any developer try this and see if they can reproduce the issue? For
now I'll just delete de Templates folder, move my old Temp back to ~/
and assign it an emblem, which will end up being the same for me, just
without the 100% CPU issue :)

Thanks again!
Vítor

[Bug 760056] [NEW] Can't copy/move files to the root of a mounted FAT usb drive using drag drop to the tree view in Nautilus

2011-04-13 Thread Vítor Souza
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

1) $ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release:11.04

(But if I recall correctly, it was also an issue in Maverick and earlier
releases)

2) $ apt-cache policy nautilus
nautilus:
  Installed: 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13
  Candidate: 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13
  Version table:
 *** 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 0
500 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) I connected a USB drive in my computer that has just been formatted
as FAT using Ubuntu. Then I open Nautilus, show the Tree view in the
left column, open some folder and try do drag drop a file from the
opened folder to the item corresponding to the USB drive in the Tree
view. I expected Nautilus to allow me to copy or move a file like this.

4) Instead, Nautilus doesn't allow this. If I drag drop over any other
item in the Tree view it works (including sub folders of the USB drive).
Over the root of the USB drive it doesn't. If I change from the Tree
view to the Places view, I can drag drop over the USB drive without a
problem.

I turned my computer off yesterday and when I turned it back on this
morning the problem persists. I'll use ubuntu-bug to submit a new issue,
since it's not related to the F10 problem. Thanks!

[Bug 758522] [NEW] Nautilus unusable: every action takes CPU usage to 100% and freezes the UI for 10 seconds

2011-04-12 Thread Vítor Souza
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu Natty (development branch)

$ apt-cache policy nautilus
nautilus:

When I open nautilus, it takes CPU usage to 100% and freezes the UI for
5-10 seconds. Everything I do in it (open a folder, expand a folder in
the tree view, etc.) does the same thing. Sometimes unity-panel-service
also goes to 100% CPU together with nautilus (I use a dual-core
computer). Nautilus is practically unusable because of this.

I tried apt-get --reinstall install nautilus and purging all of its
configuration files, but that did not solve it. Thanks for any help!

Public bug reported:

I suspended the system, then turned the computer back on and apport had
identified a Kernel error and asked me to report. This has happened the
last 3 times I suspended Ubuntu, so my guess is that it is repeatable.
This was not happening two days ago.

[Bug 756867] Re: Pressing F10 then left arrow wit Unity on Natty makes the system unusable

2011-04-11 Thread Vítor Souza
Since the other bug that I commented on was marked as a duplicate of
this one, I wanted to report my problem here as well. It's a big issue,
I think even bigger than pressing F10 and then left, because nautilus
has become useless for me and I have to do all my file operations on the
console now.

Steps to reproduce:
1 - Open a terminal and execute top to monitor CPU usage;
2 - Open nautilus;
3 - Switch to the terminal and observe that nautilus goes to 100% CPU usage for
about 20 seconds, freezing its UI (can't do anything with it);
4 - Try to use nautilus (expand folder tree, select files, open a different
folder) and the CPU goes to 100% again and the UI freezes for a while again.

Here's some system and packaging information:

$ lsb_release -rd

Yesterday when I tried this unity-panel-service was also going 100% CPU
when I used nautilus. Today it is not doing that anymore. I've been
checking for updates a lot lately to see if this issue gets fixed, so
one of the latest updates might have fixed it for unity-panel-service,
but not for nautilus.

Thanks for any pointers,
Vítor

[Bug 756867] Re: Pressing F10 then left arrow wit Unity on Natty makes the system unusable

2011-04-11 Thread Vítor Souza
The nautilus bug I reported on my comment was *not* fixed by the
released version.

$ apt-cache policy unity
unity:
  Installed: 3.8.6-0ubuntu1

1 - Open nautilus;
2 - Watch it go to 100% CPU and freeze its UI. After a while it comes back;
3 - Do any operation (open a folder, expand a folder in the tree view, etc.)
and watch the same effect.

Should I open a new bug for this? Maybe there's one already open, I'll
search.

[Bug 754377] Re: unity-panel-service consuming 100% CPU when attempting to scrub through indicators.

2011-04-10 Thread Vítor Souza
When I open nautilus, it consumes almost 100% cpu and so does unity-
panel-service. Nautilus takes at least 20 seconds to respond to any
command (change folder, expand folder tree, etc.), taking the cpu to
100% each time.

I don't know how to run unity-panel-service through strace. I tried
strace unity-panel-service but unity-panel-service is not a command. I
ran nautilus through it but strace exits before nautilus is closed, so I
don't know if it is of any help. Let me know if you'd like me to run any
specific command.

[Bug 754349] Re: ffmpeg can't find libx264 encoder in Ubuntu 11.04

2011-04-08 Thread Vítor Souza
I imagine this is a packaging issue or have I failed to install the
correct packages to make a X264 encoding?

I found solutions on the Web that installed ffmpeg from the sources, but
I really don't want to do that. I think that the DEB packages should
work. They used to work in Ubuntu Maverick.

Thanks in advance!

[Bug 751114] Re: ffmpeg unresolvable dependancies

2011-04-07 Thread Vítor Souza
If I understand correctly, there are two library sets that can be
installed. The ones with -extra-

libavcodec-extra-52 libavfilter-extra-1 libavutil-extra-50 libavdevice-
extra-52 libavformat-extra-52 libpostproc-extra-51 libswscale-extra-0

Or the ones without:

libavcodec52 libavfilter1 libavutil50 libavdevice52 libavformat52
libpostproc51 libswscale0

The ones without were installed in my system. When I issued the
following command (obviously replacing the variables with meaningful
information):

ffmpeg -i $vidFile -an -pass 1 -vcodec libx264 -vpre slow_firstpass -b
$BIT_RATE -bt $BIT_RATE -threads 0 $outFile

I got the following error:

Unknown encoder 'libx264'

Then I installed the versions with -extra- in their names and that
command worked. But that was only the 1st pass of the X264 encoding.
When I proceeded to the 2nd pass:

ffmpeg -y -i $vidFile -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -pass 2 -vcodec libx264
-vpre slow -b $BIT_RATE -bt $BIT_RATE -threads 0 $outFile

I got the following error:

Unknown encoder 'libfaac'

I tried installing packages x264 and faac, but the problem persists.

I wanna thank the developers in advance for working in a solution for
this, as I'd like to resume X264 conversion of my AVI files. Let me know
if you need any more information about my system.

[Bug 752452] [NEW] About me in Control Center doesn't store your information (always opens empty)

2011-04-06 Thread Vítor Souza
Public bug reported:

[Bug 747035] [NEW] Putting :en at the cedilla module in gtk.immodules does not make '+c produce ç anymore

2011-04-01 Thread Vítor Souza
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ibus

Before the last update, I had '+c (accent + c) produce ç instead of ć
after performing the following:

1 - As root, open /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/gtk.immodules
2 - Locate the line cedilla Cedilla gtk20 /usr/share/locale
az:ca:co:fr:gv:oc:pt:sq:tr:wa
3 - Change it to cedilla Cedilla gtk20 /usr/share/locale
az:ca:co:fr:gv:oc:pt:sq:tr:wa:en
4 - Save and restart

Now, even though the :en is still there, '+c won't produce the
cedilla, but only the accented C: ć/Ć.

Also, Gnome asked me if I wanted to change my Documents, Public etc.
folder names to another language because I changed the language of the
system. But I did no such thing. I only updated the system as suggested
by the Update Manager.

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

I fixed the problem. Probably something that I did in the past few days
screwed up my locales. I solved it by running the following commands:

sudo locale-gen --purge --no-archive en_US.UTF-8
cd /usr/lib/locale/
sudo ln -s en_US.utf8 en_US

Now Ç/ç is working again. Closing the bug...

[Bug 554106] Re: Gnome Appearance Properties dialog hangs when changing desktop effects

2010-04-13 Thread Vítor Souza
@Joshua Lückers: thanks for the tip. It's weird that you can have
CompizConfig Settings Manager installed without Compiz. I would have
never imagined that Compiz wasn't installed.

Now I have visual effects. However, the Appearance Preferences window
and Keep Settings dialog are still hanging and I have to kill it to go
away. At least now I got Visual Effects back. So I don't care too much
if those windows hang because I'm not going to use them on a regular
basis. But, again, if you want me to attach some outputs here at this
report or create a new bug report using System Monitor let me know.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I've just updated the
system and I still suffer the problem: the Appearance Preferences and
its Keep Settings dialog still hang, I have to kill it and if I open
it again visual effects are not enabled. I don't have two monitors or
anything, just my laptop (HP 6730b).

Let me know if you need me to run any commands and attach the outputs.

2010-02-10 Thread Vítor Souza

If I try to install package python-qt3, I get a unmet dependencies

Maybe the solution is not very complicated and can be fixed before the

also attach my sources.list.

[Bug 41651] Re: Created file doesn't appear on Open recent list unless opened through konqueror

2009-10-08 Thread Vítor Souza
@Matti @Francesco

Yes, Francesco's solution solves partially the problem as I understand.
The issue is that Kate (or KDE, or Linux, whatever) uses a different
approach to the Recent documents functionality as one is used to. See
OpenOffice for example.

As I understand, the Recent documents are associated with a session.
So if you configure Kate to create a new session every time, the Recent
documents will always be empty after just opening the editor, hence the
bug (between quotes, because it might be the intended behavior
according to the developers).

Having Kate reopen the same session as before brings back the Recent
documents from the last session, but also automatically opens any
documents which were open before. Personally, that's not the behavior I
want. I want it to work like OpenOffice, for instance: when you start
it, it comes with a blank document but the Recent documents menu is
filled with the documents I opened in the previous sessions.

Furthermore, this workaround of Load last-used session doesn't work if
Kate is opened via double-click on a text file. When you do that, Kate
will start a new session and the only document on the Recent documents
list will be the one you've just opened. Again, that is not how
OpenOffice (and many other editors) work.

Although this is not a deal breaker and I'm 50% content with the Load
last-used session solution, I do hope KDE developers change the
behavior of the Recent documents list to be like OpenOffice. That's
the intuitive meaning of this menu for me. They could even create two
menus: Recent documents and Session documents, for instance.

2009-10-08 Thread Vítor Souza
@Francesco:

Good to know. Sessions are indeed a useful feature for a lot of people.

However, for me it would be best if it behaved the intuitive way by
default and allow for other behaviors through configuration.

I confess, though, that intuitive is a matter for (a long) discussion,
for which this is not the place.

Thanks for the tip!

Hi drcho,

Thanks for your message, but neither

nor

fixed the issue for me. I've been using:

options snd-hda-intel model=mobile

which fixes the Sound only on Headphones problem, but regarding

are still occurring.

Still the same issue in Kubuntu 9.04. hp.hk file doesn't exist, hotkeys
don't work, can't set Fn+F9 as shortcut in System Settings because Qt
says it's an invalid keystroke. See

[Bug 338297] Re: KDE4 applications can't open files whose names contain accented letters

2009-03-20 Thread Vítor Souza
The problem reappeared, but only for Gwenview. Kate and Okular open
files with accents normally.

Reproducing:
1 - Create folder ~/Test
2 - Save two images in this folder. One called test.jpg, another called
tést.jpg (with accent)
3 - Try to open them with Gwenview. The one with accent doesn't work (see
screenshot attached)
4 - Rename the folder to ~/Tést (with accent)
5 - Try to open the images, none of them open now because there's an accent in
the path

[Bug 339648] Re: recordmydesktop produces Broken pipe: Overrun occurred in Kubuntu Jaunty with HDA Intel

2009-03-13 Thread Vítor Souza
Just in case anyone arrives here with the same problem I'm reporting,
I'm currently using a workaround: using arecord to record audio and
recordmydesktop to record video only.

I made a bash script (I'm no bash script expert, so check if everything
is OK before running it) that, when called, runs both programs in the
background and when you press ENTER it finalizes both processes, waits
for recordmydesktop to finish encoding the video and uses mencoder to
merge audio and video into an AVI.

Usage:
recordSoundAndVideo.sh myvideo

(If the name of the video is not specified, it uses a default name)

For a while now the crashed with SIGSEGV is not showing up after boot

if these are all the services that are supposed to be running):

I use Kopete and I have Enable Strigi Desktop File Indexer checked,
although it says right under it: File indexer is suspended. Don't know
what that means.

Anyways, just thought I'd say that maybe the issue is fixed for me. If
anyone wants any logging or debugging information from my system, feel
free to ask. I'm running Jaunty and I do apt-get upgrades almost daily.

Recording the desktop with recordmydesktop in Kubuntu Jaunty (with KDE
4) with an HP 6730b with HDA Intel sound card produces overrun
occurred errors randomly. When they occur, there is a skipping in the
sound recording. Also, in long recordings you notice the audio and video
are not in sync (the audio is faster).

In the attached Ogg Theora video you can notice the 2nd time I say
testing there is a skip and right after that the overrun message comes
in the screen. It happens again the 2nd time I say 10, you can't even
hear the word ten, it's totally cut from the recording.

On my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base file, I have:

options snd-hda-intel index=0 probe_mask=3 position_fix=3 model=laptop

Which made it work when I had Ubuntu (with Gnome) 8.10. If I remove this
line, sound doesn't work on the speakers (only in the headphone). At
least the following line has to be in the file, and with that line, the
problem with recordmydesktop is still there:

options snd-hda-intel index=0 probe_mask=3 position_fix=3 model=laptop

Create a file name Test.txt and open it on Kate. Type something, save,
close, reopen. What you typed is still there. OK.

Now rename it to Tést.txt (i.e. put an accent in the e) and open it
with Kate. File contents are blank and file name in the document list is
shown Tést.txt.

Open if with OpenOffice Writer and it works fine. A similar problem
happens with Okular (in that case, the PDF file that has accents in its
name doesn't even open, see screenshots) and my guess is that it happens
with other KDE4 applications.

The problem happens also if the file is in a folder that has accents in
the name, e.g.: ~/Tést/Test.txt

[Bug 293176] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 doesn't support logitech and labtec webcam

2009-02-20 Thread Vítor Souza
Check this comment:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/287336/comments/4

This program worked for me and I also have a Quickcam Express.

I suggest downloading his C program, compiling and placing it
/usr/local/bin. Then create the script quickcam-start.sh in the same
directory, with the following contents:

#!/bin/sh
if [ -c /dev/video0 ]; then
/usr/local/bin/set_cam_exp /dev/video0 2000
fi

Now, create the file /etc/udev/rules.d/10-local.rules with the following
contents:

# Adjust camera parameters upon insertion.
KERNEL==video0, RUN+=/usr/local/bin/quickcam-start.sh

You will need to sudo to create those files. Don't remember if rebooting
is required, but I don't think so. Plug in your camera and the
set_cam_exp program should be run automatically to set the brightness.
Worked for me...

[Bug 332121] Re: Kate's File Open Recent gets reset (empty) every time kate starts

2009-02-20 Thread Vítor Souza
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 41651 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41651

I don't think this bug is equivalent to bug #41651.

In this bug, files that are open get into the Open Recent but just for
that session. Once Kate is closed and re-opened, they aren't there
anymore.

In bug #41651 a newly created file that is saved doesn't get in the
Open Recent list even during the execution session in which it was
created and saved.

But if it's common to mark as duplicate bugs that are similar or
somewhat related, ok. Thank you.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dolphin

Description:Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)

  Version table:
 *** 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu3 0

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What I expected to happen:
a) Configure System Settings Keyboard Mouse Mouse Icons Double-click
to open files and folders
b) Open Dolphin and show the folders tree (F7 or View Panels Folders)
c) Single-click a folder in the tree, the folder's contents are shown in the
main panel on the right.

4) What happened instead:
In step (c), it doesn't show the folder's contents. I have to double-click the
folder in the tree to do that.

I hope this is a bug, and not the planned behavior...

Thank you.

[Bug 290827] Re: Hotkeys for HP Compaq 6730b

2009-02-12 Thread Vítor Souza
I changed the /usr/share/hotkey-setup/hp.hk file and ran the xrandr
--output LVDS --set BACKLIGHT_CONTROL native command under Ubuntu and it
fixed the issue.

Now I installed Kubuntu Jaunty Alpha 4 and the same solution doesn't
seem to work. The /usr/share/hotkey-setup/hp.hk file didn't even exist
(when I had Ubuntu, it existed and I just had to add the brightness keys
to it).

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I can also confirm that stopping either kded4 or the Detecting RANDR

stops working when this service is disabled? I'm guessing KDE won't be
able to detect new monitors and maybe I wouldn't be able to use an

[Bug 282665] [NEW] Autocomplete feature in KMail address fields cause deadkeys to stop working as they should

2008-10-13 Thread Vítor Souza
Public bug reported:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)
Release:8.10

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux seattle 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Fri Oct 10 03:55:24 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux

apt-get dist-upgrade last run today - 13/10.

KDE version 4.1.2
KMail version 1.10.1
Being used inside Kontact 1.3

My computer has an international QWERTY keyboard configured to use
deadkeys to make accented letters. Therefore, if I press the ' (single
quote) key, nothing happens, but pressing the e key in sequence
produces é.

That's not what happens in KMail's address fields. If I want to search
for a contact named André, typing the usual keys for writing that name
produces Andr'e.

The problem is probably the autocomplete mechanism, because if I type
Andr and then press ESC to close the autocompletion suggestions, I can
then type ' + e and get é as it's supposed to.

Let me know if you need any other information or if I haven't explained
myself well. English is not my native language. Thank you.

Oh, forgot to mention that this did not happen when I was using Kubuntu

and that when I first installed Kubuntu 8.10 alpha 6 it was working
correctly. One of the updates from that point to the beta version caused
this, I think. I'm not sure though.

[Bug 199165] Re: Automounting removable storage doesn't always honour the utf8 mount option

2008-10-06 Thread Vítor Souza
I put a 128 MB USB pen drive in a notebook with Windows Vista, asked to
format it using FAT and then created a folder called Avião Rápido. It
was the first Portuguese expression that I could think of that included
a tilde, a blank space and an accent in the name. :)

Removed it, plugged in my notebook with Kubuntu Intrepid (8.10) beta and
the Devide Notifier popped up. I cliked in the devide and it opened
Dolphin, showing the folder correctly, no weird characters. No problem
at all...

[Bug 278471] Re: Screen flickers with KDE4

2008-10-06 Thread Vítor Souza
My flickering also works like ibi's. Not vertical lines, but redrawings
of parts of the screen.

An interesting fact: I recorded a video of the desktop using
krecordmydesktop (frontend for recordmydesktop) and then I watched it in
another computer (running Windows) and there is no flickering at the
capture. recordmydesktop seems to receive the screen data before the
monitor does, and somewhere between recordmydesktop and the monitor
there's something wrong...

Hope that helps (in case any of the developers knows how recordmydesktop
words, it could).

[Bug 277629] [NEW] Desktop grid locks X when something is being displayed full screen

I installed Intrepid Alpha 6 and have been running apt-get update; apt-
get upgrade daily. I believe I'm in sync with Intrepit Beta now.

I have activated Desktop Effect Desktop Grid and set the bottom right
corner of the screen as an activator for the feature.

When something is full screen (tested with OpenOffice presentation and
MPlayer video) and I move the mouse pointer to that corner, the pointer
changes to the little hand but the desktop grid is not shown (maybe it's
in the background). At this point, there's nothing else I can do except
kill X (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace), because I can neither select a desktop nor
operate on the software that is occupying the full screen.

I haven't tested throughly... Maybe other global shortcuts (Alt+F2?)
work during the deadlock. Maybe the same thing happens with Present
Windows feature. I'll leave that to you. Thanks.

I can confirm that behavior.

All of Kopete's notifications show on the top of the screen instead of

Although in the case of messages, the notification comes and goes away
in less than 1 second. Most of the time I'm not able to read them.

All other notifications (Skype, KNetworkManager, KDE Crash Handler,

[Bug 270917] Re: #include limits.h missing in /usr/include/linux/netfilter_ipv4.h

2008-09-23 Thread Vítor Souza
I find it strange that netfilter_ipv4.h uses limit.h constants but other
source files that use netfilter_ipv4.h should include limit.h... That
would make sense only if there are different limit.h and you can choose
which one you want to use.

However, since I have *no* experience with the development of a Linux
distro, let's leave it as it is...

Thank you.

Trying to compile u2nl (http://freshmeat.net/projects/u2nl/) gives these
errors:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp/u2nl-1.3# make
gcc -Wall -g u2nl.c -o u2nl
In file included from u2nl.c:33:
/usr/include/linux/netfilter_ipv4.h:53: error: ‘INT_MIN’ undeclared here (not
in a function)
/usr/include/linux/netfilter_ipv4.h:64: error: ‘INT_MAX’ undeclared here (not
in a function)
make: *** [u2nl] Error 1

If this line is added in /usr/include/linux/netfilter_ipv4.h:

#include limits.h

Then it works fine.
