Removing the -dbg packages got me past that error, and it is currently doing all the upgrades. Thanks so much! [Bug 1614593] Re: gimp freezes at end of cage-base transform
Apologies for double-posting, but in fact, the currently available `gimp` snap has the same issue as the OP. It sometimes works for the very first usage of the cage transform in a session, but thereafter, all warps have weird holes and glitches. I tried all the PPAs, snaps I could find, but only the Flatpak of GIMP worked for me, so if anyone is running in to this on 20.10 try that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1614593 Title: gimp freezes at end of cage-base transform To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gimp/+bug/1614593/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1614593] Re: gimp freezes at end of cage-base transform
This is a pretty major feature of GIMP, and seemingly such a simple change to revert to address this issue, but it is 2021 and this was opened in 2016 and not fixed. [Bug 1914827] [NEW] do-release-upgrade failing with "unresolvable problem caclulating the upgrade"
Public bug reported: I've uploaded the logs. Based on the printout "Could not calculate the upgrade An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'." I am filing this. Note that the message seems to expect to be able to list some reasons for the failure but doesn't have any. In an earlier run, it asked me to run ppa-purge, after which the message change to give no suggested causes. (I do suspect that I missed something at that step since there are 206 broken packages in the apt.log file still. Maybe I accidentally removed some ppas rather than doing ppa-purge? I am unable to tell from the apt.log file which if any of the Broken packages is blocking the upgrade.) In main.log, it just says "ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'" I checked, and there are no held packages. When you are not talking (mic activated) or your mic is muted, the lag does not occur, however, when typing and talking it is SEVERE. [Bug 1724895] Re: MTU not applied on private ethernet interfaces
I just got bit by this one too. This is frustrating since the top two (for me) Google hits for "ubuntu netplan mtu" both come from official Ubuntu sources, and both provide broken solutions: https://blog.ubuntu.com/2017/12/01/ubuntu-bionic-netplan https://blog.ubuntu.com/2017/07/05/quick-and-easy-network-configuration-with-netplan The first one is especially bad because it seems to suggest that, on Bionic, one can set an MTU by only matching on one of the "Predictable Network Interface Names". Which of course has never worked on Bionic, per this bug. Only after clicking through various forum links does one come to this bug report. Nowhere does any of this appear in the ubuntu or netplan documentation. I mean, if it's been known for a year or more that many aspects of netplan don't work as-advertised on renamed devices, and by default almost all network devices get renamed these days, this seems like a major problem for the default network configuration tool, no? Last, needing to match on MAC addresses to work around issues caused by "predictable interface names" is particularly perverse! Recall that one of the main rationales for such interface renaming (instead of eth0 etc) was that MAC addresses aren't necessarily static on embedded / virtualized systems: https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/PredictableNetworkInterfaceNames/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724895 Title: MTU not applied on private ethernet interfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init/+bug/1724895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1778833] Re: tty symlink incorrect after disconnect/reconnect, fixed by manual udevadm trigger
For the record, this behavior disappears if I change the rule from: SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTRS{whatever}=="whatever", SYMLINK+="ttyWhatever" to: SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ATTRS{whatever}=="whatever", SYMLINK+="ttyWhatever" The first rule didn't actually match the TTY device at the leaf of the device tree. I suspect it must have been matching the cdc_acm USB device that is one level above the TTY device in the hierarchy. So in all likelihood, the "correct" rule is the second one, And this rule does work the same way regardless of whether the device is disconnected and reconnected, or `udevadm trigger` is run. I do think the current udev behavior is still a bug, though: either the first rule should always fail, or should always work. The fact that the symlink works correctly with the first rule only when udevadm is manually triggered, but not when the device is removed and re-added, cannot be the expected behavior. (Right?) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778833 Title: tty symlink incorrect after disconnect/reconnect, fixed by manual udevadm trigger To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/1778833/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1778833] [NEW] tty symlink incorrect after disconnect/reconnect, fixed by manual udevadm trigger
Public bug reported: I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 17.10 to 18.04 and encountered what appears to be a regression in udev. On 17.10 (and previous), the following udev rule to rename a USB serial device worked perfectly: SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ATTRS{product}=="IOTool", ATTRS{manufacturer}=="zplab.wustl.edu", ATTRS{serial}=="0x", SYMLINK+="ttyIOTool" This would yield symlinks as expected: > ls -l /dev/ttyIOTool lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Jun 26 21:34 /dev/ttyIOTool -> ttyACM1 On 18.04, the same symlinks are made correctly at boot time. However, if the device is unplugged and then re-plugged, the symlink instead goes to /dev/bus/usb: > ls -l /dev/ttyIOTool lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Jun 26 21:33 /dev/ttyIOTool -> bus/usb/003/013 This is a problem, because /dev/bus/usb devices can't be opened as serial ports in the way that /dev/tty devices can. However, manually triggering udev via `udevadm trigger` returns the symlinks to the expected state. I am fairly certain that this behavior represents a bug, because there shouldn't be any difference in behavior between an auto-triggered event with a disconnect / reconnect, and one manually triggered via udevadm trigger, right? Version information: udevadm --version gives 237 on the 18.04 system (with this broken behavior) and 234 on an identical 17.10 system with the correct behavior. On a similar 16.10 system with udevadm version 231, such symlinks also work fine. Note also that there are several reports of similar udev behavior around the web, which have left the users fairly perplexed; e.g.: https://github.com/psi46/elComandante/issues/14 https://github.com/oskarpearson/mmeowlink/issues/52 Please let me know if there's anything further I can do to help debug this problem. I can probably work around this by using /dev/serial/by- id, but if anyone has other workarounds to try (different udev rules, perhaps?), I would be grateful as well. ** Affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778833 Title: tty symlink incorrect after disconnect/reconnect, fixed by manual udevadm trigger To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/1778833/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Happened to me on a fresh DO droplet. Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.17 (x86_64) After two or three days of normal functioning. We had to start optimizing MyISAM. So the first thing we changed log_slow_queries = /var/log/mysql/mysql-slow.log long_query_time = 3 log-queries-not-using-indexes service mysql restart started failing from there. Side note. We changed key_buffer_size to key_buffer_size = 768M And restarted without problems the first day. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1610765 Title: Apparmor refuses mysqld open on /etc/mysql/my.cnf.migrated causing it to fail to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1610765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1642418] [NEW] [ubuntu 16.10] nfs fstab entry fails to mount on boot
Public bug reported: Impact: NFS shares listed in /etc/fstab do not mount on boot. During booting, it appears that the nfs share attempts to mount before the network allows for name resolution (see errors below). However, the systemd dependencies clearly show a requirement for network- online.target (see below). After booting, shares can be mounted fine via mount -a. [Bug 1596662] Re: pcscd fails to read CAC card data, errors out
The versions I were using before (from the Trusty repositories) are pcscd 1.8.10 and libccid 1.4.15. I've installed PCSC version 1.8.17 and libccid 1.4.24: $ /usr/local/sbin/pcscd --version pcsc-lite version 1.8.17. Copyright (C) 1999-2002 by David Corcoran. Enabled features: Linux x86_64-pc-linux-gnu serial usb libudev usbdropdir=/usr/local/lib/pcsc/drivers ipcdir=/var/run/pcscd configdir=/usr/local/etc/reader.conf.d Both configurations cause the same errors, where it seems that it fails to read the card. I've attached the lsusb of the broadcom device, as well as the complete log. ** Attachment added: "lsusb of broadcom device" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcsc-lite/+bug/1596662/+attachment/4691605/+files/lsusb.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1596662 Title: pcscd fails to read CAC card data, errors out To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcsc-lite/+bug/1596662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1550852] Re: apt-mirror does not reflect dep11/Components-* and dep11/icons-*
Jeff Sereno's comment (#6) allowed me to install the Xenial package on my Trusty mirror server. Conveniently, apt-mirror had already downloaded the necessary file, so I simply had to locate it on the local filesystem. This fix really should be backported to Trusty. Mirrors are run on stable machines, and that means LTS. Trusty is the current LTS release, until 16.04.1 is released later this year. There should not even be debate about that course of action, as this change probably broke a huge percentage of the mirrors out there. That's not something that I expect from either Debian or Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550852 Title: apt-mirror does not reflect dep11/Components-* and dep11/icons-* To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-mirror/+bug/1550852/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
