[Bug 1876511] [NEW] Ubuntu 20.04 HDMI audio is unplugged
Public bug reported: Since I upgraded from Ubuntu 19.10 to Ubuntu 20.04, I have been unable to direct my sound output to my HDMI monitor. Yes. Please refer to the file in the attachment for 'journalctl -b 0' after the crash was triggered. [Bug 1871534] Re: Ubuntu dock causes Gnome shell to crash
Hi Daniel, I was unable to perform step 1 even after reproducing the crash. No new crash files were generated (related to this issue) after reproducing the crash in /var/crash. I logged in to TTY (during the crash) and noticed in htop that one of my CPU core (3) was running at 100% which was utilized by gnome-shell. I found the only way to get my computer to respond was to perform: Killall -3 gnome-shell or systtemctl poweroff -i or by performing hard reset by holding the power button and and in all these cases the crash files were not being generated. However, here are some of the links from step-2: https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/0547bb36-7952-11ea-991e-fa163e102db1 https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/e93ee410-78c4-11ea-9917-fa163e102db1 https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/c0118108-780b-11ea-ab44-fa163e983629 https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/e0b682b4-772d-11ea-9907-fa163e102db1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871534 Title: Ubuntu dock causes Gnome shell to crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1871534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1871534] [NEW] Ubuntu dock causes Gnome shell to crash
Public bug reported: Ubuntu dock is causing the gnome shell to crash especially while opening appfolders and clicking out of the app folders. Same problem was also observed during minimizing and maximizing (by clicking the launcher button). The entire gnome shell was frozen; none of the key bindings worked - except the only option was to switch to the tty by hitting alt-ctrl-f3 and restart from there. I have played around with all the options in the settings by installing dash to dock extension (since some settings seems to be shared) including transparency, Auto hide, panel & icon size with all kinds of combinations and I managed to fix this issue by disabling / unchecking the option: Panel mode:extend to screen edge. After disabling/Unchecking the option- Panel mode:extend to screen edge; this problem could not be replicated again. lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Re: [Bug 1315027] Re: [Dell Precision M6600] Suspend puts laptop in state requiring hard power down + power up
Christopher -- I'll try to get to this in mid-December. I have a travel schedule over the next few weeks that makes it hard to try much. I do note that the frequency of the problem (upgraded to 14.10, with 3.16.0-24; still using proprietary nvidia drivers) has gone way down, and perhaps even gone away - I have not had this problem in a month, although I once experienced a different issue with not waking up from sleep which I will report if it happens again. Christopher -- I just looked at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds?action=showredirect=KernelMainlineBuildswhere the link you posted ( https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds) redirects, and I see one stumbling block. I'm using the proprietary nvidia drivers because the default noveau driver only gives me 1024x768 on my laptop, whereas the display is actually 1600x900. Since I can't get useful work done at 1024x768, I will either have to figure out how to get an nvidia driver working with 3.15-rc5, or I will need to figure out how to get the noveau driver to give me 1600x900. I'll see if I can figure out a solution and keep you posted. Thanks for the response. Regards -- Bhaskar On Mon, May 12, 2014 at 8:06 PM, Christopher M. [Bug 1315027] [NEW] Suspend puts laptop in state requiring hard power down + power up
Public bug reported: At random (I estimate perhaps 20-25% of the time), when I suspend my Kubuntu 14.04 (upgraded from 13.10, not a fresh install) laptop, it blanks the screen, and displays a message such as that below on the text console. Then, instead of going to sleep, it remains powered up. In this state, nothing works to get back control, not Ctrl-Alt-Del, Ctrl- Alt-Backspace, Ctrl-Alt-F2 (or other function key), not ^C. The only way I have found to get control is to hold the power button down, which is a power-down and then power-up. Some success at last... I purged bluez via sudo apt-get remove --purge bluez then installed bluez from here https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/4.69-0ubuntu2/+build/1930179 these are maverick's version of bluez. Now Blueman detects my mobile and i can browse files on it. Still DUN is a problem a bit. But that seems to be another bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/909865 Title: Broadcom BCM2035 not working in ubuntu natty or oneiric To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/909865/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
