[Bug 872026] Re: guvcview crashes when starting to record video

2011-11-14 Thread caixamagica
Same here, video capture (not image capture) makes Guvcview crash on
Lubuntu 11.10. Changing the video codec doesn't make any difference.

Terminal output, in the end says:

[mp2 @ 0xb6720140] codec type or id mismatches
could not open codec
segmentation fault

[Bug 475587] Re: Dragging a URL to the desktop saves web page instead of creating a link

2011-10-30 Thread caixamagica
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 194191 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194191

Still not solved in Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. Creating url shortcuts
in desktop by drag and drop from browser should be a basic feature! I'm
sorry but I really find hard to believe that after all these years this
issue isn't solved yet and nobody cares about it...

[Bug 687553] Re: Ubuntu freezes when Hyper Threading is enabled in BIOS

2011-05-04 Thread caixamagica
Lubuntu 11.04 - this bug is still present.
Test: running lbreakout (the game) will make the computer freeze right away.
That doesn't happen when HT is disabled.

[Bug 687553] Re: Ubuntu freezes when Hyper Threading is enabled in BIOS

2011-04-30 Thread caixamagica
That's out of question, because I can't even try the new Ubuntu version due to
Unity.
This laptop only has 512 RAM and I'm using the Radeon open source driver (no
other alternatives available).
Ubuntu 11 doesn't work here and even Unity 2D is too heavy and slow for this
laptop.

[Bug 401823] Re: Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

2011-04-16 Thread caixamagica
If it's not a flash issue, at least interferes with flash videos playback.
And perhaps it's a javascript issue.
Eg., I get trouble ahead all the time on videos like these:

[Bug 401823] Re: Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

2011-03-25 Thread caixamagica
Forgive me something but - come on - this bug exists since 2009.
It should be solved by now, in my humble opinion... but it's not!
I can still reproduce:
 (firefox-bin:2685): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead
in Ubuntu 10.10 and Firefox 3.6.16, Chrome 10.0..., etc. when viewing sites
with flash content.
I believe that this is causing some flash plugin crashes.
After more than a year googling perhaps hundreds of webpages, I still couldn't
find a solution.

[Bug 687553] [NEW] Ubuntu freezes when Hyper Threading is enabled in BIOS

2010-12-08 Thread caixamagica
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Hyper Threading Technology enables 2nd logical processor.
If this option is enabled in BIOS, the system will freeze after some minutes of
usage.
All system freezes: keys combinations are useless, mouse is irresponsible.
This happens not only in Ubuntu, but in other linux distros too.
I'm not an expert, so excuse me for some lack of information, but I'm 200% sure
of this bug on my machine:

[Bug 362690] Re: cannot enable USB errors on boot

2010-07-17 Thread caixamagica
Hello, Fabio. I would say that this problem is not totally solved in Ubuntu
10.04.
Lucid Lynx gives access to a plugin for HP Laserjet 1018, wich works fine.
Most of the times, I get a clean boot with no problems at all.
But sometimes (maybe 1 in 3 or 4 times) the printer delays the boot, and I
can't move the mouse for about 1 minute after Ubuntu is loaded.
If I unplug the printer, during that minute, I have access to the mouse again.
At least I don't receive device descriptor read/64, error messages anymore,
or perhaps they are hidden now.

[Bug 453618] Re: foobillard freezes on attempt to quit

2009-11-12 Thread caixamagica
On exit, Foobillard causes complete failure of the system. This happens on
Ubuntu Karmic Koala (never had that issue on Jaunty Jackalope). I can move
mouse but nothing else responds... and I mean nothing at all.
Running Ubuntu 9.10, clean install, on a Acer Travelmate 2700, 512mb ram, ATI
Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP graphic card, and no desktop effects.

[Bug 362690] Re: cannot enable USB errors on boot

2009-08-13 Thread caixamagica
I confirm this bug and what Esteban Izaguirre just said. I have an HP
LaserJet 1018 too and the same error occurs here, in Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04,
if the printer is plugged in during boot.

Those errors appear after Starting bluetooth... message, so you can
workaround this issue by turning off the Bluetooth Manager at System
Administration Services.

Still, this isn't the solution I was seeking for, because I have to wait
for about 1 minute after Ubuntu is loaded to get my optical mouse
working... Any further suggestions?
