[Bug 2060740] Re: [SRU] fsattr fails to run
Hi Sudip, thanks for the work here. > [ Where problems could occur ] > There is no change in the code, it only changes a build dependency > which will make fsattr functional. Mostly this looks ok, but with some diffoscope analysis I note that some binaries are indifferent to this change (fsmount_kernel and fsmove change only NT_GNU_BUILD_ID) but others do notice this builddep change (fsattr as expected, but also fsremap looks different.) Do you mind investigating a little on fsremap? I think we want a bit of a regression test there to try to ensure that making fsattr better doesn't make fsremap worse. [Bug 2062377] Re: Ubuntu 24.04: gnome-shell crashes on Xorg if a legacy X11 cursor theme is selected
I've also encountered this bug/crash since I always change the cursor to DMZ-White when I install Ubuntu and I reckon other ex-Windows users might also do. Before that I've noticed this weird "X" cursor when desktop was loading (see attachement). I've replicated the bug using only the live USB (try without installing Ubuntu 24.04). [Bug 2061180] Re: 24.04 beta: Subiquity fails with "Something went wrong"
Hi Hadmut Danisch, thanks for the report. There isn't much to go on here, or even that the failure was related to the Installer itself. At that crash dialog should be an option to collect data and report, or if that isn't happening, a tarball of the contents of /var/log/installer would be good. [Bug 2060897] Re: Xubuntu installation failed: RuntimeError: aborting install since no mirror is usable
So this outcome is not limited to xubuntu. I was able to produce the same result with the base desktop ISO as well. The key here is a "deadnet" type configuration - active networking but not going anywhere. I was however able to make the install work on the deadnet by setting the autoinstall policy apt: {fallback: offline-install} The code equivalent of that is a proof-of-concept that I think is overdue to make real, in https://github.com/canonical/subiquity/pull/1816, except I think server wants this default also and that PR applies this policy value change to desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2060897 Title: Xubuntu installation failed: RuntimeError: aborting install since no mirror is usable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/2060897/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2060568] Re: v2_guided_POST: KeyError: 'reset_partition_size' on Budgie
Root cause: the ubuntu-budgie-installer was present, with 2 snaps attempting to provide subiquity behavior. It appears that subiquity from ubuntu-budgie-installer was matched with the ubuntu-desktop- bootstrap client. Fixing by removing ubuntu-budgie-installer in livecd-rootfs. ** Also affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Dan Bungert (dbungert) ** Changed in: subiquity Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: ubuntu-desktop-provision Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Merge proposal linked: https://code.launchpad.net/~dbungert/livecd-rootfs/+git/livecd-rootfs/+merge/463841 ** Description changed: Ubuntu Budgie - daily noble 8th April See the tarball for the /var/log/installer logs Using virtualbox, attempt to install when the installer appears on boot to the live-session Choose all the default options. When the last screen (the summary) is expected to appear then you see a installer page saying that something as gone wrong - i.e. no summary is displayed. When I tested this on yesterdays ISO, closing the installer, running snap refresh ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap --candidate and then rerunning the installer works correctly. + + --- + + workaround: + * close installer UI + * sudo snap remove ubuntu-budgie-installer + * sudo snap restart ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2060568 Title: v2_guided_POST: KeyError: 'reset_partition_size' on Budgie To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/2060568/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2057454] Re: [Ubuntu 24.04] Failed to Install Ubuntu 24.04 with ISO attached to VirtualMedia of OSM.
The most critical problem in these logs are the decompression failures and media read failures I listed in this comment: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/subiquity/+bug/2057454/comments/9. The network items can be resolved, Subiquity cannot be expected to install when bad media is present. I need you to verify the install media. Please go back to the ISO you're trying to install from, make sure the expected checksum matches what checksum we list for that ISO, and download a new one if necessary. If you still see problem after verifying the ISO, consider installing by way of USB key instead of your VirtualMedia setup to help narrow which component is failing.
