[Bug 329873] Re: [needs-packaging] Thunar Shares Plugin

2013-11-04 Thread dentaku65
In Xubuntu Saucy 13.10 it is impossible to package and/or compile
thunar-shares-plugin due to the missing package of libthunar-vfs-1-dev in the
repos.
I've build it correctly in precise/raring, with this guide:

[Bug 1193050] Re: fusion-icon segmentation fault

2013-10-12 Thread dentaku65
Same here.

Created an alternative of fusion-icon via my PPA called compiz-indicator
https://launchpad.net/~dentaku65/+archive/compiz-indicator
for Raring and Saucy

Tested on Raring without problems.

2013-09-01 Thread dentaku65
The Kolya fix works fine here
https://code.launchpad.net/~mar-kolya/compiz/fix-for-1158267

My box:
Xubuntu Raring + emerald (via webupd8 PPA)

Steps that I did:
mkdir compiz_fix
cd compiz_fix
sudo apt-get install bzr
bzr branch lp:~mar-kolya/compiz/fix-for-1158267
cd fix-for-1158267
sudo apt-get build-dep compiz
debuild -uc -us
cd ..
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

Please be aware to run ccsm BEFORE tu run compiz and in ccsm choose your
configuration/plugins (after the installation of deb compiled the
plugins are all unselected)

Then run compiz:
compz --replace

[Bug 447892] Re: [i855gm] Freeze shortly after X startup on Intel i855

2010-03-21 Thread dentaku65
Intel i855gm still unusable in Lucid Beta 1; tried Lubuntu iso
With KMS and without (nomodesetting) both failing after choose the option Try
Lubuntu without install
Tried Safe Graphics Mode and it works; Lubuntu loads.
I don't know what Safe Graphics Mode means, but I quite sure that do not use
intel driver.

I can confirm this with Lucid Alpha 3
No chances to use/test Lucid on my box with Intel Corporation 82852/855GM
Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)
Starting with burned iso of Xubuntu:
1) With KMS freeze after the kernel starts
2) Without KMS (nomedeset) short time with garbage screen of Plymouth (coloured
bottom bar), then freeze

[Bug 450465] [NEW] Mounted ipod is not recognized by hal

2009-10-13 Thread dentaku65
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

Ubuntu Karmic Beta
2.6.31-13-generic
ipod 3rd generation silver 4gb
The device is mounted correctly and it is possible to browse the contents with
nautilus
I've tried to see this ipod with these GTK apps:
gtkpod
hipo
exaile
banshee
None of them are able to see the device; I've installed amarok 1.4 from PPA
(Jaunty version) and it works pretty well
Open this thread on Ubuntuforums:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1290043
Executing podsleuth with mounted ipod
the output is:
No iPods were found in the HAL device tree

I have the suspect that hal and gtk have some wrong info about the
device.

[Bug 395932] Re: [i855] No Xv support for 82852/855GM (KMS bug)

I can confirm this issue with Karmic Alpha 4
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics

My workaround is to use nomodeset at grub boot in order to do not use KMS

I used startupmanager before and after.

[Bug 412093] [NEW] Karmic: splash is added to recovery mode kernel with update-grub

2009-08-11 Thread dentaku65
Public bug reported:

In karmic I've noted that splash entry in the grub.cfg is present in the
line of recovery mode:

menuentry Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.31-5-generic (recovery mode) {
set root=(hd0,1)
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set b9b35c5e-8eee-408e-a72a-9c0505620ad0
linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-5-generic
root=UUID=b9b35c5e-8eee-408e-a72a-9c0505620ad0 ro single splash
#GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX
_UUID=true quiet
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-5-generic
}

This causing freeze on recovery menu (not possible to use arrow keys,
hard reboot needed); removing splash from grub editing command line at
boot then booting with ctrl-x recovery it works.

I follow this guide to modify the entry in grub.cfg
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Grub2#User-defined%20Entries
but when I load the command after the changes
sudo update-grub
the splash line on recovery kernel is put it back.

[Bug 412093] Re: Karmic: splash is added to recovery mode kernel with update-grub

No installed from scratch Alpha 3.
I just used startupmanager adding 10 seconds before the boot instead 5 seconds.
But when the new grub2 update 3 days ago has been proposed I've choose the
maintainer configuration.

I confirm this error too on my Intel 82852/855GM with alpha 6 and kernel

With this error/scenario it's impossible to use compiz (does not load at all),
was working perfectly with the previously lidrm and/or intel driver packages.

[Bug 151867] vpn pptp on Kubuntu is not available

2007-10-12 Thread dentaku65
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

In this last version the menu are ok, but when i select pptp or ppp, i get the
message :
There is no configuration interface for the VPN service pptp installed. Please
check your installation.

I think is a big problem because KVpnc does not work with
Knetworkmanager and of course the KNetworkManager dialog allows
configuration for service types OpenVPN and VPNC but not for PPTP (and
PPP). Options ppp and PPTP says no configuration interface found.

Package info is as follows (Gutsy 32-bit):

network-manager Version: 0.6.5-0ubuntu14
network-manager-gnome Version: 0.6.5-0ubuntu9
network-manager-kde Version: 1:0.2ubuntu1-0ubuntu5

network-manager-kde Version: 1:0.2ubuntu1-0ubuntu4

[Bug 137797] compizconfig ccsm is incomplete

2007-09-06 Thread dentaku65
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compizconfig-settings-manager

There should be a tab in the Application switcher plugin called Actions, when
you define separate key bindings for Next/Prev window as well as Next/Prev

switch the key bindings for Next window and Next window (all workspaces)

visible, but all the disk/partitions of my system will be visible as

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Feisty.

I have two external USB drives
/dev/sda1 (hardisk vfat)
/dev/scd0 (cd/dvd/dvd-+rw)

The disk is not automounted when I start the system; to use the drive I
must switch off and switch on then the system recognize it (put the icon
on the desktop and open the folder with Nautilus automatically ); if I
put the info of this drive in the /etc/fstab even switching off/on the
drive will not be mounted or will be mounted in a different mount point
/media/LACIE__ instead of /media/LACIE_ (adding a _ to the end of the
mountpoint).

The CD drive does no mount; when I enter the system and I put a CD/DVD
in the drive nothing happens; if I switch off and on, reinsert the
CD/DVD the media will be launched

Both of them was working perfectly under Edgy
