[Bug 1067773] [NEW] Graphical indicator is laggy after switching power source (adapter/battery)

2012-10-17 Thread klerfayt
Public bug reported:

Sun symbol on bright rectangle-ish background that indicates screen
brightness lags behind after disconnecting adapter and running on
battery power or vice versa. The lag is really long, about half a minute
before graphics show up after pressing Fn+Brightness_Up/Down. Backlight
itself reacts always immediately.

2012-07-29 Thread klerfayt
Public bug reported:

Workaround is

sudo sh -c echo profile /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_method
sudo sh -c echo low /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile

After that temperature drops below 50 °C, right now it is 45.5°C

Ok, I understand. But should I expect similar temperatures to closed
source driver or even to windows driver? They both stay around 50 °C
then system is idle.

[Bug 953303] Re: [HP Pavilion dv2000 (RN067EA#ABB), Conexant CX20551 (Waikiki), Black Headphone Out, Front] Sound is distorted

2012-03-12 Thread klerfayt
I tried options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 and options snd-hda-intel
position_fix=2 in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file - no change;
I tried load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0 in /etc/pulse/default.pa - no
change.

The only thing that helps is lowering PCM volume to -10.00 dB gain.
Unfortunately PCM resets to 100 after reboot or whenever I use volume
control on the panel.

[Bug 910060] Re: suspend and hibernate failure with M61SME-S2

2011-12-31 Thread klerfayt
Hello, running Ubuntu 11.10 64bit from memory stick suspends
successfully.

I wonder if the difference is in post-install or is Xubuntu trying
suspend some other way.

Anyway, the only way I will found out is if I run Xubuntu 11.10 64bit
from memory stick also.
