Ubuntu 18.04 has issues , bluetooth headphone doesn't connect or not added in output sound device after resume. [Bug 1340829] [NEW] unity dash database loading is not automatic
Public bug reported: Unity dash takes 10-15 seconds (intel corei7) to load initial data (applications, files etc). It only happen first time and when data loaded, unity search performance is good and excepted. Problem is that initial load is not automatic or doesn't start in background. Doesn't matter how many much time you spend after log in into system, whenever you open the dash first time, it will start the initialization. How to regenerate: 1. Log in into desktop 2. Wait as many time as you want 3. Open dash and wait, initially no data will be available but searching animation. After 10-15 seconds data will be loaded and animation will stop. After that searching in dash in quick. What should be the behavior? 1. As soon as user log in, system should initialized unity dash data, doesn't matter user open dash or not. Initialization time is acceptable but it should start in background automatically. This problem solve partially in today's release. Case to regenerate the problem: open two terminal (same type window). Set window on top for one terminal. Focus the terminal which is set on top. Now click on launcher icon, nothing happens. Two terminal window show spread. If you manually focus on other terminal which is not set on top and then click on terminal launcher icon then it's works fine. Partial solve means now other window behave normally. I checked this case for two days. It's still happening in updated 14.04(64bit) system. I am suspecting that when same account is used by multiple device at a time then empathy can't authenticate. But it's not happening all the time. Last time i found the problem where i was logged in using my android device and empathy failed to authenticate in my laptop. I want to add, maybe this will help, Update-manager found no new package for upgrade as i said but when i used synaptic manager and try mark all upgrade it detected some packages for upgrade. After upgrading using synaptic manager, system settings was reporting System is up to date. I have faced this problem right now. Only super key and alt+clt+Fucntion_keys are working. I can still login in terminal window (ctl+alt+F1) and by restarting the lightdm i restore my environment. Thank you for quick reply. I remove *ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa *using sudo apt-add-repository --remove then run sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade but still update-manager -d is not working. Public bug reported: nm-applet disappear randomly. It happens when i logged in. Log out or nm-applet command load the indicator. This problem is random. It doesn't happen always. I have notices that if network manager failed to connect a wifi network in lightdm screen then it happens. Not sure about the test case. I have two network with same name in office and home(neighbor). Sometimes system detect that network and try with office's password and failed to log in. After reset the unity according to #8 hud is working. But some application is not responding. Basically those application which move their menu into right side. As an example nautilus , document viewer etc. Google chrome has a bug that it doesn't show global menu. HUD is not working with google-chrome too. Is it that the default font doesn't support bangla? No Which one or ones is it that solved your problem? I changed only standard font to bangla first. but it didn't work. After that i changed all four to bangl font. I will check all possible combination and let you know. do you mind attaching a screenshot of the corrupted text here? I log empathy with only facebook account (http enable in facebook.provider). I found that empathy able to fetch my fb contacts but i am not sure it is throwing error. This bug is not fixed in daily build version. How to fixed : Go to settings Customize fonts change Sans-serif font (3rd option) to any bangla unicode font. Problem will solve immediately.
