[Bug 1420935] Re: Centrino Wireless-N 1030 randomly disconnecting
Just to follow up on this. I upgraded a few weeks before to Ubuntu 15.10 and it looks like this bug is completely fixed. It has the following kernel: Linux 4.2.0-18-generic #22-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 6 18:25:50 UTC 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux Wifi works stable without any additional tweaks. Happy that this was fixed, thanks. ** Changed in: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1420935 Title: Centrino Wireless-N 1030 randomly disconnecting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1420935/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1420935] Re: Centrino Wireless-N 1030 randomly disconnecting
To workaround this bug. Create a file named: /etc/modprobe.d/wifi_bug.conf Add the following lines to the file: options iwlmvm power_scheme=1 options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=N swcrypto=1 11n_disable=1 Set the file's ownership the same as other files in that folder. Reboot. Please note though that this fixes the issue, but prevents N mode from working, so you are stick with B and G modes. Otherwise I'm very disappointed that no one cares about this bug as I would be glad to provide all the information I'm able to to get this fixed. The other thing that makes me very sad is that this was already working perfectly in the past with 12.04 and now it isn't. This really sounds to me like a step backwards... ** Description changed: 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using: Description: Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca Release: 17.1 Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 14.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center Maybe linux-image, linux-firmware or network-manager. 3) What you expected to happen Permanent wifi connection. 4) What happened instead Wireless is disconnecting randomly. This wifi card was working for me with Ubuntu 12.04 for several years before flawlessly. Now I installed Linux Mint based on Ubuntu 14.04 and it is now randomly disconnecting. When it disconnects I disable wireless in the NM applet and enable it again and wifi reconnects. Logs regarding the disconnect and the reconnect are attached to the report. The disconnect happens 10 to 60 minutes after it was connected or reconnected.
