[Bug 151572] Re: HP photosmart R717 camera not mounted when plugged

2008-01-04 Thread SqUe
Sry for messing up the bug :P I found my problem!

I had installed Gutsy through a usb-stick (I had created a bootable usb-stick
from a gutsy_desktop iso because my dvd-rom is broken)
and it at installation it thought that /dev/sdb1 is the cdrom so there was a
line in /etc/fstab:
/dev/sdb1 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec 0 0

Commenting this out solves the problem for me.

Really sorry :( , but hey thanks too that ubuntu works once more as
intended ;)

[Bug 151572] Re: HP photosmart R717 camera not mounted when plugged

2008-01-04 Thread SqUe
I have similar problem with a Sony DSC-W35 on Gutsy 32bit. When I plug
it in mass-storage mode, the gnome pop up an error Invalid mount option
when attempting to mount the volume. with error title Cannot mount
volume.

At the log I see:

I can't understand why it sees it as UDF format :S

fdisk -l /dev/sdb shows:

/dev/sdb1 * 1 937 479499+ 6 FAT16

Mounting by hand (mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt) works perfectly!
Any idea where to look further for this problem?

[Bug 151572] Re: HP photosmart R717 camera not mounted when plugged

2008-01-02 Thread Nick B.
I think I have the same problem. I have an HP Photosmart R818 and when I
connect it in USB Mass Storage mode nothing happens but a ton of errors
in /var/log/messages. See attachment. After unplugging it I get an
error on the camera that the memory card cannot be read. After I turn
the camera off and on it's fine though. However when I connect the
camera in PTP mode it works fine. I think this is a regression from
Feisty as I believe it worked fine in Feisty under USB Mass Storage
Mode.

When the camera mounts it reports a filesystem, this might be the internal
memory of the camera.
However on the point DCIM/100HP717 where normaly the SD card would be mounted
nothing is available.

When de camera is disconnected it sometimes reports a bad filesystem on
the SD card, however after turning the camera on/off the SD card is
fine.

2007-10-12 Thread Efrain Valles
I forgot to mention that the first time I plug in the camera. I unplug
it without any way of unmounting the device. and therefore the secound
time I plug it. It monts it. but it tells me that the card has an
invalid format due to the previous manual unpluging and the end result
is ... no pictures after the disk gets mounted.

2007-10-12 Thread Basilio Kublik
Could you please try to reproduce this issue a couple of times, without
executing the lsmod, although lsmod does nothing that could be related to the
mounting of a drive, just shows the modules loaded by the kernel.
I just want to confirm that this issue isn't present anymore.

Thanks in advance

It is when I plug it for a second time that the Camera gets mounted as a
drive and inmediately the dialog box for importing pictures appear.

1) I plug my camera Nothing happens. I check lsusb and it is there...
2) I unplug my camera.
3) I plug it again and it works.

Hi Efrain
Thanks for taking the time to report this issue, in order to identify the
problem, we probably need some extra information, such as, the output of your
syslog when you plug/unplug the camera, the output of lsmod command, the output
of uname -a, the output of dmesg command, please include the requested
information as separated attachments.
By the way do you have pmount installed?.

Thanks in advance.
