[Bug 415186] Re: Cannot open load file: encoded-kb
era, Thanks a lot. Reinstalled, via 'sudo aptitude reinstall', the emacs22-common package, and Emacs it is working A Ok once again. I sincerely don't have a clue as to why or how the '/usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/' directory vanished from my system. I keep tabs on all installed updates on my Jaunty, and I don't see anything that might have caused the problem. http://oesediez.blogspot.com/search?q=Updates+dujour+ Thanks once again. -- Cannot open load file: encoded-kb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 415186] Re: Cannot open load file: encoded-kb
Closing as Invalid for emacs22, as this is unlikely to be caused in anything within Emacs itself. If you can figure out what caused the problem, obviously, feel free to change the status back to New. [Bug 415186] Re: Cannot open load file: encoded-kb
The problematic package appears to be emacs22-common. Perhaps reinstalling that could help you get your system back on track. However, if there is a bug which caused its files to be lost, that bug should be found and fixed. -- Cannot open load file: encoded-kb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The file /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/encoded-kb.elc should be part of the emacs22-common package. [Bug 415186] Re: Cannot open load file: encoded-kb
era, No, I don't have a ´encoded-kb.elc´ on my box. go figure... There is not even the 'international' directory: ~$ ls /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/ ls: cannot access /usr/share/emacs/22.2/lisp/international/: No such file or directory I really don't have a clue as to why it doesn't exist, as I said, the problem with Emacs started out of the blue a couple of days ago. Don't know how to get Emacs working Ok once again... Tried, out of desperation, doing an aptitude reinstall (something I never had to do on a Linux box) but even that didn't work. Perhaps I can try an aptitude remove, and then a regular install? Or fool the process by creating the international directory, and pasting an 'encoded-kb.elc' file that someone might upload? Thanks. -- Cannot open load file: encoded-kb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
