[Bug 564728] Re: Xorg/gdm did not start after "Routine Disk Check" on start up
** Description changed: OS: Lucid Lynx When the "Routine Disk Check" reached near completion, the screen ceased to display anything and appears to have frozen. However, I ssh'ed into my computer with the frozen display and was able to function normally, and when I checked the processes, no other processes seemed to be running, particularly any X-related processes or gdm. I then executed a remote reboot and the computer rebooted normally (since it did not perform another disk check). Re: [Bug 564728] Re: Xorg/gdm did not start after "Routine Disk Check" on start up
In short, I haven't had a problem with this again. I don't specifically recall having this problem with 10.04, but it's possible -- However, I do remember having a problem with disk checks and start-up in 9.10. But just the other day, my computer (although a different one, with a different graphics driver) performed disk checks and booted normally. This bug is far too old to verify. --- On Mon, 8/30/10, Bryce Harrington <564...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: From: Bryce Harrington <564...@bugs.launchpad.net> Subject: [Bug 564728] Re: Xorg/gdm did not start after "Routine Disk Check" on start up To: timuwe...@yahoo.com Date: Monday, August 30, 2010, 7:04 AM Hi Tim, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 564728] Re: Xorg/gdm did not start after "Routine Disk Check" on start up
Same thing happened to me in the first disk ckeck after installing Lucid Release Candidate (upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04). After turning off the computer (cold booting pressing the key) lucid came back without any problema. I attach boot.log (from the successful boot afterwards) and Xorg logs. ** Attachment added: "boot.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/45144491/boot.log -- Xorg/gdm did not start after "Routine Disk Check" on start up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/564728 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
