[Bug 111398] mdadm fails to stop RAID on shutdown
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mdadm I use a RAID0 array for my root partition. Since the update from Edgy to Feisty I get the following error message on shutdown: * Stopping MD array md0 fail It seems that mdadm tries to stop the RAID while it is still busy. However on shutdown unmounting local file systems appears before Stopping MD array md0, so in theory things should be fine, practically however I get the aforementioned error message. I've never manually tempered with /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf or with the order of init scripts, so I don't see where I could possibly be at fault here myself. My /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf is as follows: DEVICE partitions ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid1 num-devices=2 UUID=2584f8de:386621a1:7bed7f63:e8caced3 DEVICE partitions ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid1 num-devices=2 UUID=2584f8de:386621a1:7bed7f63:e8caced3 MAILADDR root My runlevel 0 executes the following init scripts: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/rc0.d$ ls K01kdm K20apportK25hwclock.sh README S20sendsigs S40umountfsS59cryptdisks-early K01usplash K20dbus K25mdadm S01linux-restricted-modules-common S30urandom S48cryptdisks S60umountroot K19hplipK20firewall K50alsa-utils S15wpa-ifupdown S31umountnfs.sh S50mdadm-raid S90halt Let me add that I am using pam_encfs to encrypt my home directories using the login password. Thank you for the bug report. [Bug 111380] XGL causes crash when resuming from suspend with NVIDIA cards
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new I have done some experimenting with my Ubuntu Feisty + nvidia drivers in order to make suspend-to-ram and -disk work, and I have discovered that the GLX option is the one which actually crashes the suspend. I have tested this on my Dell Inspiron 6400, with NVIDIA 7300 card, TL5600 core duo processor. My xorg.conf file at the graphics card section reads so, using the latest nvidia driver (have not tested it with the nvidia-glx): Section Device Identifier nVidia Corporation G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] Driver nvidia Option NoLogo True Option RenderAccel True Option AddARGBGLXVisuals False Option AllowGLXWithComposite False EndSection The suspend works fine but beryl/compiz do not function well: beryl for example gives the following error: Xlib: extension GLX missing on display :0.0. If I change the two last options to True and reboot, beryl/compiz will work, but when resuming from suspend-to-ram/disk the screen will be black with the cursor floating, no option of calling the terminal screen (ctrl+alt+f1), forcing a reboot. I think therefore that it is not the NVIDIA driver itself, but rather the GLX option which causes the crash. I also have to report that I think I met this same bug once before, on my old laptop, an IBM Thinkpad R50e with a i810 graphics card. While I was trying to fix suspend on that machine I accidentally ruined my driver, in that I was no more able to launch xgl/aiglx applications such as beryl or compiz, and as a consequence suspend began to work. I do not remember how I did it and in fact I was no more able to repeat the accident, but these two experiences combined make me suspect that it is the xgl/aiglx projects which are causing the suspend bugs. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- XGL causes crash when resuming from suspend with NVIDIA cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111380 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 111379] svg_loader.so fails reading svg font for 'gnome-search-tool'
Public bug reported: I tried to use 'gnome-search-tool' to get a list of all of the .svg files on the system. When it finds one, it calls on the gdk_pixbuf loader to get a picture of the .svg file to display in it's list. After installing all of the relevant -dbgsym packages (by hand! there ought to be a tool I can use for that) I ran the search tool like this: export G_DEBUG=fatal_criticals gnome-search-tool ... which it says to do at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingGNOME ... and then in another console, ran: gdb --pid=$(pidof gnome-search-tool) ... then told it to 'cont' and entered .svg into the search box, then selected File System, and pressed Search. It runs for a while, and then I get: Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted. [Bug 110966] Re: Openoffice.org hangs refreshing UI with 100% CPU
Sorry for missing the required information: I am using Ubuntu Feisty with OOo 2.2.0-1ubuntu3. Until now I was not able to reproduce the bug but I expect to get it in the next few days. So please be patient. In the meanwhile I experienced a total crash of OOo but different than the bug I reported above. For me it happens from one second to another and I can not tell you what caused it. OOo just crashed and was restarted afterwards automatically. Please see the attached Valgrind logs. ** Attachment added: valgrind-logs-oowriter.tar.gz http://librarian.launchpad.net/7497915/valgrind-logs-oowriter.tar.gz -- Openoffice.org hangs refreshing UI with 100% CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110966 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
