Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1455520] Re: systemd-shim executes 'poweroff' after resuming from suspend-to-memory(S3)
I have a very similar problem, but my laptop doesn't go through /sbin/shutdown: it turns off abruptly as if I had pulled the power plug. Always after 1 minute exactly. I'd like to investigate this, if anyone has any idea what to try please tell me. I suspect it is related to Intel Rapid Start, but I already deactivated it in the bios. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455520 Title: systemd-shim executes 'poweroff' after resuming from suspend-to- memory(S3) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd-shim/+bug/1455520/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1627828] Re: iwl3945 crashes randomly
I have response from "intel-driver-man" and I think he is right. I indeed manually enabled powersaving via powertop. I quote: "This could be caused by power save, which is disable by default in the driver but some programs/distribution seems to enable it without user knowlage. First check: $ iw dev wlan0 get power_save and if PS is enabled, disable by: $ iw dev wlan0 set power_save off and check if problem still happen. @drwt about your remark: > I looked at all kernel versions that had changes committed to iwlwifi and > tested between them. > > I now have determined that I do not have this issue in the kernel version > 4.4.4. > > I do have the issue in 4.4.6 and that is the next kernel version that has > changes to iwlwifi so I guess that is the first bad version." [Bug 1665698] Re: /etc/qemu-ifup not allowed by apparmor
The change in Openstack is in Ocata only, if you run Ocata on Zesty or Xenial+UCA-Ocata you should be good already with the fix above. I'm considering to backport it to Yakkety where libvirt is in the broken state (script is handled by libvirt, but it doesn't know about "" being meant to be a no-op). Looking into that somewhen this week. But I won't backport to Xenial (makes no sense, the code it fixes isn't there at all). And that means UCA-Newton on Xenial as well won't get a fix as it does not apply. I'm open to a community driven fix for it in Xenial, but there IMO the override in the apparmor is more likely the right way to do it. The problem that is left IMHO is that the openstack change from passing 'path=""' to "not passed at all" is suboptimal, as this is "defined" in qemu/libvirt as "fall back to default path". But that fix would have to be in Openstack. ** Also affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1665698 Title: /etc/qemu-ifup not allowed by apparmor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1665698/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1658921] Re: NetworkManager does not manage wired connection
Bug #1638842 has been marked as a duplicate of this one, and also has been marked Won't Fix (before this bug was reported). So if we want the current behavior to be changed, we need to discuss. Reason of the current behavior is given in Comment 7 of Bug #1638842: “On desktop images we want NM to manage everything, thus the installer creates /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/10-globally-managed-devices.conf. But on a server, container, or similar environment we do NOT want NM to suddenly take over existing connections from netplan, networkd, or ifupdown -- there it should be restricted to wifi and 3G.” I agree with the idea and I can imagine that even if I cannot think of a case where NM is installed in a container / on a server without wanting it to manage connections, the current behavior works around a real problem that as been encountered and that chroot installation of Ubuntu Desktops might have been forgotten in the process. Now, installing Ubuntu using chroot is convenient and the easiest method is some cases, and as we can see in the comments here, people really do it so this should work as expected. In this setting, the current behavior is confusing. By default, nothing shows that NM is configured not to manage wired and Bluetooth connection. I lost almost a day because of this. It should at least be explicit in the configuration and in the logs. And NM changing its behavior because an empty configuration file exists at /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/10-globally-managed- devices.conf seems weird to me. I agree that solving the initial problem is probably important, but I think that breaking things so badly for people installing Ubuntu using chroot is wrong and that the installation of Ubuntu should be a process that remains simple and intuitive. Making the Ubuntu installer create /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/10-globally-managed-devices.conf and make NM work as expected when this file exists looks like a hack to me, and a fragile behavior. A better solution might be to make network-manager manage connections as expected when *-desktop packages are installed. But it is not sufficient as some people don't install these packages in their desktop setup to avoid installing things they don't use. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1658921 Title: NetworkManager does not manage wired connection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1658921/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1673885] Re: package exim4-daemon-heavy 4.86.2-2ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Hi Michele, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The logs do not indicate a particular issue I could help you with. But this kind of issues mostly happen due to individual configuration that either: - doesn't work but users stop to care about the package (e.g. try something but give up) - works on the former, but not the new version of the package. As the error recommends, sometimes the full output of: `See "systemctl status exim4.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.` can help to pinpoint the issue, but mostly people succeed by backing up their config and reverting it to the default one, then the upgrade runs fine and then adapt the new version to your custom configuration. But that depends a lot on your setup e.g. would you loose any data by dropping your old config for the upgrade. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. Please report back if dropping or adapting your custom configuration made it upgrading. If not fixed share any extra data on the configuration and the issue that you are encounter. ** Changed in: exim4 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1673885 Title: package exim4-daemon-heavy 4.86.2-2ubuntu2.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/exim4/+bug/1673885/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

@gerald: right, there is no way to protect you from turning the device into a brick if this step goes wrong (unlike kernel or rootfs we can not roll back the bootloader) note that the gadget snap from edge will not have a working dtb for the old kernel which will likely make you end up with an unbootable device. sadly on the pi the dtb gets loaded by the binary blob which is why we can not just use it from the kernel snap (which would fix this problem). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1647936 Title: Raspberry Pi 3: a small rainbow square on the top right of screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1647936/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
