[Unattended] unattended-gui-0.5.1
I am using a PXE server and have had success using the bzimage and initrd supplied by unattended-4.6. However, due to network card driver issues I have moved to use the unattended-gui-0.5.1 kernel and root. The machine boots up fine but when it asks for the z mount and I enter the path, user, and password then it loops again. It appears that I cannot enter anything onto the password line (guest). I have tried passing the appropriate arguments on the append line in tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default. My changes will show up in the question boxes but it continues to loop. Thank you. - SF.Net email is sponsored by: Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. Re: [Unattended] unattended-gui-0.5.1
HI, there is a bug in the kernel I think. It only accept up to 137 chars via the command line. I only affects the 0.5.1. An update will be available soon. But it should work if you run through the dialogs... Have you checked the log on tty4 and 5? Maybe there is an other error? greetings amrio Am Montag, den 10.12.2007, 12:44 -0500 schrieb Kevin G. [Unattended] unattended-boot-CD too old kernel
Hi guys, as I'm still using the normal unattendet, I ran into the problem of the old kernel and missing support for newer hardware. I just thought that I could use the gui-boot-cd but after a look at the doku, it seems to be very different and breaks with a missing init.sh on drive z. Because I have configured my unattended netinstall and didn't find any good documentation about unattended-gui until now (or it's just 2 late), I'd like to know if someone already updatet the original unattended-boot-cd (and if there is a downloadable version online)? If someone wants to put it online but is missing a hoster, I could spend some HD-space on my server. Regards - Nagilum - SF.Net email is sponsored by: Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. I've been using the unattended-gui 0.1 CD to boot into my unattended 4.6 installation environment for some time, with no changes to unattended. Recently I needed the newer kernel for a driver module, and I got some assistance to use the PXE boot. I used the root filesystem from 0.1 and the kernel image from 0.51, which works perfectly for the one machine (HP Compaq 8510p) I needed - still no changes needed on the unattended 4.6 environment (: Greg. - SF.Net email is sponsored by: Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
