[libreoffice-users] Other LO email lists

2014-07-08 Thread Mark Stanton
Even following the unsubscribe instructions on the how to
unsubscribe web page, I still get the message user unknown.

I'm trying to get off the QA, Devs, Documentation Marketing lists,
but two of them appear to be taking no notice, complaining that they
don't know my address (Recipient address rejected: User unknown).
I've sent unsubscribe messages according to what it says in the
website from the accounts that the messages appear to be coming to,
but no luck.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards
Mark

Hello Mark,

Did you actually subscribe with your current email address? Maybe it was a
different alias of yours?

Cheers,

Exactly. Which is why I was careful to mention from the accounts that
the messages appear to be coming to, as detailed in the how to
unsubscribe web page.

I imagine you're right in thinking that this may be linked to the
cause, but trying to get the right account doesn't seem to be working.

It does indeed seem as though you have at least one account forwarding
mail to your current email address. I don't have any such forwarders
set up, so am guessing here; check headers of list mails to see if that
reveals clues about which account is forwarding mail.

If you're still having trouble locating the correct account(s), the
relevant list moderators _may_ be able to help you, if you supply them
with a list of candidate email addresses.

2014-07-08 Thread Vitorio Delage
Hello,

You can see the account to which the mails are being send (the same that
subscribed the list) if you analyse the source of a message that you receive
from the list.
To get the source of a mail is program-dependent:

Apple Mail: Menu Presentation - Message - Raw content
Thunderbird: Display - Source code of the message (U)

Best regards,

Vitorio

1) There is no such thing in LO Base as a default clickable URL field
definition option.

2) If you want similar functionality to what Access provides with regard
to clickable URLs, you have to program it via macros, and use the
VARCHAR_IGNORECASE field type.

An example of taking a character string pointing to a file and opening
it with another application (in the case below, a PDF) :

No it hasn't, it is still considered, AFAIK, and thankfully so,
experimental, and very much a use at your own risk option that needs
to be specifically activated by the user, or did I miss something in the
4.3 announcement and did we decide to make Firebird generally
available ? If so, that was a big mistake :

- missing functionality compared to the embedded hsqldb ;
- no migration path for existing hsqldb ODB files ;
- still fairly unstable on anything other than Linux.

I stumbled across version 0.6 of _OOo in a Multi-Lingual Environment_

How fruitful would it be, to update it for LibO 4.x?

(Actually, it was only the last 200 pages, all of which was technical data more

Documentation Project might be interested.

That goes without saying.

From my pespective the issue is whether or not go spend a couple of hundred
hours figuring out
the optimal way to work around the flaws in LibO that minimize its utility when
communicating in about a dozen writing systems. The work around described in
that document no longer works.
