Thank you Philip.. I should have mentioned I tried to edit it out using the
dialog box without success.. the wrongful uneditable entries remains
no matter my attempts to remove them by either of the means you
suggest.

I think i need to know the ¨file location¨ of the entry to see if it can be
edited out using the command line at a shell interface in Ubuntu or
maybe some other editing tool? Its like the permissions have been
changed, I can see it, but cannot address it or edit it?

To us, governance of this type, centralizes power in the elite, allows the elite

 Hi Fudmar,

 I
do the same with a table of contents in Ubuntu 16.04 with LO
 Writer
 5.1.4.2 and it works fine.

 The dialog box for entering
the link details is extremely laborious
using a mouse and if after selecting the
 bookmark you don't click
 'apply'
and then 'close', sometimes you may find you
 didn't get the
 right info entered into
 the 'target' box.

As for deleting bookmarks, that is easy. Just
 click the bookmarks icon
 (the star) (or use
Insert > bookmarks) and the 'Insert Bookmark'
 dialog
box will show you a list of all
bookmarks in the document. Highlight the
 one
you want to delete and click the 'Delete' button.

You can also check whether the
 links are correctly formed by
 right-clicking
on the link, select 'Edit hyperlink' and in the
 dialogue
box, check whether the target info
corresponds with where you want to go.

It is possible to conditionally hide a paragraph by inserting a special
field.

NOTE: I do not have an English version at hand, so check the names ;)

Let's say you already have a variable called MyVariable and you want to
hide the text (and the sections) when its value is 1. On the paragraph
you need to hide, go to Insert → Field → More fields → Functions →
select Hidden paragraph and on Condition type

MyVariable==1

and insert.

NOTE: hidden paragraphs will still be visible unless you UNcheck View →
Hidden paragraphs.

It is possible to insert the table on a section (Insert → Section) and
then hide the section. Sections accept any kind of contents and you
can

even have a section within a section.

It is also possible to set a condition to hide/unhide the section
automatically using a variable: Set a variable (Insert → Field → More
fields → Variable tab) named, for example, MyVariable and give it a
value,
for example 2. Now insert the frame and check the "hide" option,
writing

under "condition"

MyVariable==1

Here the section will be visible, but if you double click on the
variable

and change its value to 2, the section will hide immediately.

When I try to open any file indexed to the free office directly from the
network a window appears informing that the file does not exist.

Attachment print of the screen.

[libreoffice-users] c/n edit out or delete some bookmark entries

2016-12-05 Thread fudmer rieley

I Bookmark my index items and my index related content then I
hyperlink them both ways example

index

Item 1
item 2

..
..

Body of the work
content 1
content 2
..
..
.

So that if I click on content 2 it will return me to item 2 and if I click on
item 2
it will take me to content 2.

to do this I have been using hyperlinks.
so it takes two hyperlinks for each..

works great in all 32 bit writers I know about, but in my ubuntu 16.04 using
5.1.4.2 build 1.5.1.4.-Qubuntu1 it is not smooth.. sometimes the hyperlink
works sometimes it does not work. sometimes the hyper link
looses the hyperlink text and some it loose s the target book mark.

I think the problem is in the bookmark..somehow entries there become corrupted?

I have several item 1 type entries there that cannot be deleted or edited out
or used by the
hyperlink

I need these messed up entries out of my bookmarks o be able to make smooth in
sequence my work.

There is some instability somewhere..

How do I edit the corrupted entries from bookmarks

Although, actually, there is still the ReportBuilder to rewrite in C++
or find an alterative with a compatible licence that could be used instead.

Additionally, all of those legacy hsqldb-embedded ODB files will still
need to be supported, or a way found to allow them to be converted to
the new embedded db engine seamlessly/painlessly. This particular topic
is being debated on the dev list as I write.

When it no longer relies on a Java db engine as its default backend for
the ODB file.

Currently the shift to Firebird3 as the future embedded default for ODB
files is a work in progress.
