[Users] Error after disk change virtio - virtio-scsi
Hello, if I change the type of an existing vm disk from virtio to virtio-scsi in ovirt-engine webadmin the vm does not boot any longer. That means qemu cannot start the VM at all. qemu error message is: unexpected address type for scsi disk Creating a new disk as virtio-scsi works fine. We were still using 3.1 just a couple of months ago:) And I know there are plenty of people still using it. Upgrading was a real PITA, so I fully understand why. Glad it helped! Is it possible to add an ovirt-guest-agent-1.0.8-el6.rpm to the ovirt 3.2 repository? I'm asking because I tried the ovirt-guest-agent installation on a VM by slightly modifying the repo file to point to the 3.3 directory and the dependencies that were used were only from epel. Ok here are the results when following your guide. please provide the output of: psql engine postgres -c select * from async_tasks; - Emulated machine: pc-1.0 right, you restart the engine so the host already was reactivated so this is actually expected. - maintenance/activate one node of the cluster: - Emulated machine is still: pc-1.0 I guess that is nothing you wanted to see. So I changed the CPU type of the cluster and was able to understand what you think of. The emulated machine will go blank. After reactivating a node the value goes back to pc-1.0 I played with the cluster settings in between and cannot say if the value was empty when the error occured. Just in case the emulated machine value was empty during restart of ovirt-engine. Did I loose the machine because of that? no this can't lead to that but the restart of ovirt can. Yair, seems like importVM task is still in the DB after an engine restart during run VM fail. As I'm testing that is no problem but I want to make sure if I can recover from that situation in any way. Best regards. A reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) flaw was found in oVirt Engine An attacker could construct a carefully-crafted URL, which once visited by an unsuspecting user, could cause the user's web browser to execute malicious script in the context the of oVirt Engine domain. (CVE-2013-4181) This update only fixes this one bug. Hi, I need help. I cant figure how to configure logical networks with my servers. My configuration is the following: ovirt manager 2 interfaces, eth0 and eth1 bonded ifcfg-bond0 DEVICE=bond0 IPADDR=192.168.44.105 NETWORK=192.168.44.0 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=192.168.44.254 USERCTL=no BOOTPROTO=none ONBOOT=yes ovirt hosts (2 servers) 2 interfaces, eth0 and eth1 bonded for management ifcfg-bond0 DEVICE=bond0 IPADDR=192.168.43.10 (192.168.43.9 on the second server) NETWORK=192.168.43.0 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=192.168.43.254 USERCTL=no BOOTPROTO=none ONBOOT=yes 2 interfaces, eth2 and eth3 bonded, used for VM networks. This is my problem. These 2 interfaces are exposed to a network trunk with a few vlan's. Do I need to create all the bridges for the vlan's at the SO level?? Can I create them in the web interface? Don't know if its possible to add the vlans first and then on top of that ovirtmgmt but if yes, you'll loose the abilitiy to use the webui to manage vlans. My setup consists of a nic dedicated to ovirtmgmt, 2 nics bonded into a storage network and 1-2 nics used for vlans. Don't know how 3.3 will handle vlans on ovirtmgmt. The first one is what you described. The bug on the CPU pane prohibits me from starting the VM because Emulated machine is empty. No problem with that I have a workaround. But now to the other bug. Took me quite some time to reproduce it. [Users] oVirt 3.3 -- Failed to run VM: internal error unexpected address type for ide disk
I'm experiencing an issue today on my oVirt 3.3 test setup -- it's an AIO
engine+host setup, with a second node on a separate machine. Both machines
are running F19, both have all current F19 updates and all current ovirt-
beta repo updates.
This is on a GlusterFS domain, hosted from a volume on the AIO machine.
Also, I have the neutron external network provider configured, but these
VMs aren't using one of these networks.
selinux permissive on both machines, firewall down on both as well
(firewall rules for gluster don't appear to be set by the engine)
1. Create a new VM w/ virtio disk
2. VM runs normally
3. Power down VM
4. VM won't start, w/ error msg:
internal error unexpected address type for ide disk
5. Changing disk to IDE, removing and re-adding, VM still won't start
6. If created w/ IDE disk from the beginning, VM runs and restarts as
expected.
Is anyone else experiencing something like this? It appears to render the
Gluster FS domain type totally unusable. I wasn't having this problem last
week...

I'm trying to import oVirt 3.2 VM's from an export domain. The import is successful, to the point I can fire up the VM's. Restart ovirt-engine and the VM is gone. Prior to the latest ovirt-engine update, only the VM container was removed and the disk remained. Since updating to ovirt-engine-3.3.0-3.el6.noarch a few moments ago, the container still gets removed, but now the disk is gone too! This exact thing is happening to me. I'm trying to import oVirt 3.2 VM's from an export domain. The import is successful, to the point I can fire up the VM's. Restart ovirt-engine and the VM is gone. Prior to the latest ovirt-engine update, only the VM container was removed and the disk remained. Since updating to ovirt-engine-3.3.0-3.el6.noarch a few moments ago, the container still gets removed, but now the disk is gone too!
