Re: [ovirt-users] VM Template Error

2017-05-03 Thread Shahar Havivi
According to the log the the storage domain (where the disk is stored is
not exists)
StorageDomainDoesNotExist: Storage domain does not exist:
(u'2de6ad97-1f33-41e5-b021-bacec14ce6e4',)

Does all the storage domain active in your data center?
Did you move the disk or remove and added a different storage domain?

OK, I'm in a place where I can try this, but am unsure as to how to do it.
Selecting the hosted engine SD, it won't allow me to place it in maintenance
("Error while executing action: Cannot deactivate Storage. The storage selected
contains the self hosted engine."). Poking around more the only related action
I can find that isn't disabled is Gluster stop, which, if it is allowed, would
seem likely to end badly - if the Gluster volume is stopped, the running
engine VM won't be accessible, and of course the engine auto-import process
wouldn't find anything.

So, how does one destroy the hosted engine volume from within the engine?

[ovirt-users] collectd, fluentd, ...

2017-05-03 Thread Troels Arvin
Hello,

Setup: RHV 4.1 with full RHEL 7 servers as hypervisor hosts.

I noticed an "Update available" symbol for all the hypervisor hosts.
Running "yum update" on the hosts themselves didn't list any pending
updates.

Running "check for available updates" on the hosts in the RHV web

Hello,

I've no direct experience, but i suppose that both modes are available, if
they are supported by a standard RHEL machine. In particular the
"Independent mode" should be like said before: you'll see the storage as FC
lun. In the other mode i think is a standard iSCSI setup, but requires the
driver for taking advantage of the offloading.

Re: [ovirt-users] Upgrade 4.0.6 to 4.1.1 -- How to Update oVirt Node (4.x) Hosts?

2017-05-03 Thread Yuval Turgeman
Hi, you can try the following:

1. Make sure you have a /etc/iscsi/initiatorname.iscsi file. If you
don't, create an empty one (to avoid a migration bug)
2.  Install the ovirt-release41 rpm (
http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/yum-repo/ovirt-release41.rpm)
3.  yum update ovirt-node-ng-image-update
4. Make sure only 2 rpms are about to be installed
(ovirt-node-ng-image-update and ovirt-node-ng-image) ~530M

Save /tmp/imgbased.log in case something fails so we could take a look :)

Thanks,
Yuval

You need to add a data domain, and after you do that, the hosted

Thanks. I do see a host hook defined for macspoof but I'm working
around the error by migrating VMs to a different cluster which has a
higher compatibility level set.

Re: [ovirt-users] [oVirt4.1] Does oVirt 4.1 support iSCSI offload?

2017-05-03 Thread wodel youchi
Hi again, and sorry for the delay, I was sick, actually I am still sick
:-(

Just to have more details, from what I have read about iSCSI offload, there
are two modes, depending on the hardware you have (the adapter), using
VMware terminology, no offense :-) , there is :

- Dependent mode : in this mode the adapter still need the software iSCSI
to use the network configuration of the nic port, so the discovery is done
on tcp, the rest on offload driver like bnxi2.

- Independent mode : in this mode the adapter takes all the work by itself,
the network part, it will have it's own IP address and so on, and it does
not need anything from the OS or the software iSCSI, the configuration is
made in the BIOS of the adapter, and the connection is made before the OS
is up.

Does the configuration on oVirt support the two modes? and is there any
differences when using them, I mean during the setup.

Regards.

[ovirt-users] terminating sessions

2017-05-03 Thread Fabrice Bacchella
In the UI, I see 73 open sessions, all open by me.

In ovirt logs, I see a lot of :
2017-05-03 18:49:31,483+02 INFO
[org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.aaa.SessionDataContainer] (DefaultQuartzScheduler3)

 session has running commands for user ''.

And indeed I can't close those sessions in the UI.

I have two questions:

Are those sessions accessible using the API ?
How to know what running command is waiting ?

[ovirt-users] Various issues trying to get a new 4.1 install up and running

2017-05-03 Thread Jason Ziemba
I'm utilizing the latest node ISO
(ovirt-node-ng-installer-ovirt-4.1-2017050204.iso), upon installing on a
system I utilize the Web Cockpit UI to install the 4.1 hosted engine
(successfully), resulting in the following engine version:
4.1.1.8-1.el7.centos.
The node is also running 4.1.1.1

After installing the engine and accessing the Engine Web Admin I'm
encountering the following issues:

   - I'm not seeing any storage domains in the console (though the engine
   is installed using NFS).
   - Attempts to import the NFS storage domain that the engine resides in
   (for other VMs to also reside in) fail due to inability to find host ID.
  - Attempts to add (import) the storage domain again once again fails,
  though this time it states that the Storage connection already
exists (yet
  it isn't listed in the storage domains).
   - The hosted engine doesn't show up in the console, though Bug 1269768
   states that was supposed to be corrected in 3.6.1
   - Installing (from the same ISO) subsequent hosts and then using the
   Engine to bring the node in to the cluster, the additional nodes don't have
   the ability to run the hosted engine (based on the lack of the crown icon),
   preventing the original node from entering maintenance mode as the engine
   (which can't be seen) isn't able to migrate to a different node.

I'm not sure where to begin reviewing/troubleshooting based on these
items. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

you need to define the custom property for the new version as well, if you want
keep using it. Or remove it from all VMs. It’s not in GUI, check engine-config
parameters, you likely have the custom property for macspoof defined for <=4.0
only.

[ovirt-users] cannot change cluster compatibility level

2017-05-03 Thread Michael Watters
I have a cluster of hosts that have just been upgraded to oVirt 4.1
however I am receiving an error from the engine when I attempt to
upgrade the cluster compatibility level.

Error while executing action: Cannot edit Cluster if some of the
specified custom properties are not configured by the system. The keys
are: macspoof

Does anybody know how to resolve this? I don't see any settings related
to MAC spoofing in the cluster configuration options.

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt Node 4.1.1.1 installation, engine on gluster, existing disk sdb not found or filtered, deployment fails

2017-05-03 Thread Oliver Dietzel
Worked as described in the blog entry:

"The installer will ask if you want to configure your host and cluster for
Gluster. Again, click "Next" to proceed. In some of my tests, the installer
failed at this point, with an error message of Failed to execute stage
'Environment customization'. When I encountered this, I clicked "Restart
Setup", repeated the above steps, and was able to proceed normally."

https://www.ovirt.org/blog/2017/04/up-and-running-with-ovirt-4-1-and-gluster-storage/

After a setup restart this error went away.

The last error i had was in the last stage of the setup process.

The installer was unable to connect to the engine vm after creation and timed
out after about the 10th retry.
Postinstall failed, but the vm itself was up and running and i was able to ssh
to it and to connect to the web ui.

Log attached.

Thx Oli

Hi Alan,

One way is to move the host to maintenance which will move all of
your vms to another host and reinstall it from UI. Another way is to
confirm host has been rebooted and please make sure that there are no
vms or vms are migrated.

Hi Oliver,

   I see that multipath is enabled on your system and for the device sdb it creates
mpath and once this is created system will identify sdb as
"3600508b1001c350a2c1748b0a0ff3860". To make this work perform the steps below.

1) multipath -l (to list all multipath devices)

[ovirt-users] problems with events.list

2017-05-03 Thread Fabrice Bacchella
I'm looking for some specific events with the following code:

last_event = int(events_service.list(max=1)[0].id)
print "last_event %d" % last_event

start an check upgrade

print "search %s" % search
while True:
founds = events_service.list(
from_= last_event + 1,
search=search,
)
if len(founds) > 0:
break
time.sleep(wait)

If search is host.name=..., it works.
With search host.id=..., it can't find any events.

I was unable to find a filter for the events :
host.name=XXX and (type=885 or type=839 or type=886 or type=887)
host.name=XXX and (code=885 or code=839 or code=886 or code=887)
host.name=XXX and type=885 or type=839 or type=886 or type=887
host.name=XXX and code=885 or code=839 or code=886 or code=887

What should be the right search string ?

Re: [ovirt-users] Ovirt Node 4.1.1.1 installation, engine on gluster, existing disk sdb not found or filtered, deployment fails

2017-05-03 Thread Oliver Dietzel
Actual size as displayed by lsblk is 558,9G , a combined size of 530 GB worked
(engine 100, data 180, vmstore 250),
but only without thin provisioning. Deployment failed with thin provisioning
enabled, but worked with fixed sizes.

Now i hang in hosted engine deployment (having set installation with gluster to
yes when asked) with error:

"Failed to execute stage 'Environment customization': Invalid value provided to
'ENABLE_HC_GLUSTER_SERVICE' "

I think you should input the size as 500GB if your actual disk size is 530 ?

Hi Oliver,

  I see that multipath is enabled on your system and for the device sdb it creates
mpath and once this is created system will identify sdb as
"3600508b1001c350a2c1748b0a0ff3860". To make this work perform the steps below.

1) multipath -l (to list all multipath devices)

2) black list devices in /etc/multipath.conf by adding the lines below, if you
do not see this file run the command 'vdsm-tool configure --force' which will
create the file for you.

blacklist {
  devnode "*"
}

3) mutipath -F which flushes all the mpath devices.

4) Restart mutipathd by running the command 'systemctl restart multipathd'

This should solve the issue.

Thanks
kasturi.

Is it possible to test against a running 4.1.1 or changes are too much?

[ovirt-users] Move direct LUN?

2017-05-03 Thread gflwqs gflwqs
Hi list!
I need to move a direct LUN from ISCSI storage to FC storage.
I have one ISCSI SAN and one FC SAN connected to my ovirt environment.
I need to migrate all my data from the ISCSI SAN to the FC SAN.
It is no problem to move the images from ISCSI to FC however i also have
direct LUN:s attached from the ISCSI SAN that i need to move to FC however
when i mark the direct LUN the "move" button is greyed out? How do i move
the direct LUN?

sure that its exists and accessible).

if all good please attach the full vdsm and engine log.
