The problem is: most of the Time I need address book and calendar only
(thunderbird), but every now and then I need the mail part as well.
And I don't want to install every part twice just to be able to login
with kerberos and without.

Sometimes I wonder that the user outside are not tired typing
different username/password combination all the time.

I use this just for my family and they want to type user name and
password only once. So I began to kerberize my environment but it is
harder than I thought (not technical wise, but from support in
different server/client software).

So may be sometimes kerberos is supported. Lets wait and see.

To get SPNEGO working you have to set a couple of preferences in
Firefox. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Integrated_Authentication
for details. And, yes, without the mail part, it isn't really that
useful unless you just need a calendar and address book.

Considering there has been no response to my bug report, I'd say not
in the immediate future. If I remember correctly, the current CAS and
WebAuth support was sponsored by a university. While those offer great
browser-SSO support, neither is a complete desktop solution that you
could integrate with say an Active Directory login. At some point that
might be really useful when the OpenChange MAPI stuff is production
ready.

Hello André,

I've asked the author and he says:
-
currently there is only a "free as in beer" version of CardDAV-Sync. The
DAViCal Wiki entry has been written by an user not by me.
As my website states I'm planning to make both of them open source once
they are worth it. I don't want to open the code right now because it is
just not ready to be published.
By "not ready" I mean that I'm still in the process of finding an
architecture and defining interfaces. My plan is to put some stuff in
separate libraries and publish them under GPL on Sourceforge as soon as
I think its interface (and most of its implementations) is good enough.

I like when it's OSS, for me it's not so important if it's freeware.

With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.

Subject: [SOGo] 3 domains with ldap

   Hi all,

We are trying to setup a SOGo test case with 3 domains.

Here is one (the last in the config file) of our 3 domains entries.

cloud-business-services.eu

   SOGoMailDomain
   cloud-business-services.eu
   SOGoSuperUsernames

   SOGoLanguage

  UIDFieldName

  baseDN

domainName=cloud-business-services.eu,o=domains,dc=freezbiz,dc=org
  bindDN
  cn=Manager,dc=freezbiz,dc=org
  bindFields
  mail
  bindPassword

  canAuthenticate
  YES
  displayName
  Carnet adresses Partagé
  hostname
  127.0.0.1
  id
  contact
  isAddressBook
  YES
  port
  389

We log in with an email address, say jm.ol...@cloud-business-services.eu

Ldap logs show that the user is queried in the first, then in the second
domain

but not in the third, which is the good one with that email address.
So, the login is failing.

Obviously (?), if we try to log in with a user belonging to the first, or
to

the second mail domain, login succeeds.

We tried to delete one of the two first domains: login succeeds with
the last domain (which is the last of two and fails when it was the last
of three).

I do not know if I am clear enough, but here is my stupid question: is
there any kind of limit in the domain number ? Something missing in the
domain configuration ?

Thanks,

I have disabled all keep alive between client and nginx, I have also made sure
that no keep alive headers are sent from nginx to sogo

Is there any option for this in SOGo?

Well, yes. But also not. I guess a birthday add-on that automatically
adds an ENDDATE to birthdays wouldn't be very welcome. We're all going
to die one day, but having an app tell you when...

[SOGo] A lot of TIME_WAIT connections

2011-05-02 Thread Marcel Asio
Hi,

I have just installed SOGo with a relativly small user base (<100) but noticed
a strange thing the number of connections is increasing over time

a small part of netstat output:

Active Internet connections (w/o servers)

they just keep increasing (current number of connections is 1097)

I'm using nginx as a proxy in front of sogod, don't know if that makes any
difference

anyone know why or how to resolve?

No. Securing access to the ZEG usually simply involves adding HTTPS support in

I would say that both software are buggy :)

The add-on doesn't specify an end date, which is bad.

SOGo was crashing when an event has no end date, which was bad.

SOGo will now define a duration of 1 day for an all-day event (no time
specified) with no end date and a duration of 1 hour for a regular event with
no end date.

I followed development closely and also did actively submit bug reports.

Would need a update in Sogo to get it working

Is somebody working on that? So far I see it's a bug in Sogo.
It's not realy a bug, it's more that Sogo implements some older versions
of the specs.

Open a bug/rfe for this...

Is only for contacts

Right, but so far I know the calendar-sync-apps are only for calendars.
So if you want contacts, you need another app. There seems to be even a
special app for editing a contact...
http://dmfs.org/carddav/?editor

You will have to try out.
It relay depends on the smartphone you use...

For CalDav nothing reliable is available for the moment,

OK, but you say calendar_sync_for_android is working partially. I am not
sure, but I think you are wrong when you say that it's no longer developed,.

See above

But the better choice is maybe Acal, because it's OSS.

Often "the best/better choice" is not the same for everybody... ;)
Of course a OSS version would be welcome, but someone has to invest time
into development

Hello,

I'm using SOGo 1.3.6, with Dovecot as IMAP server (and LDA), due to a mandatory

All other is bare installation. My auth rely on LDAP.

I can use SOGo WebUI flawessly, excep i can delete a directory with WebUI. I
have no troubles to create them !

It works fine with ThunderBird - i can create and delete what i want, or delete
folders creted with WebUI.

I'm out of ideas to find why it is not working. ZEG works as intented. I
troubleshooted the extended log fro Dovecot: all seems fine.

I have also enabled SOGo debug logs. The "POST
/path/to/maildepot/folderto/delete_command" is issued correctly. I'm not able
to track deeper changes.

Have anyone an idea to help me troubleshoot this problem ?

Thank you,

CF

Anybody got a precise idea of what debug traces i can enable for
troubleshooting this problem ? :)

[SOGo] Android: Tasks

2011-05-02 Thread Patrick Ben Koetter
I can sync calendar and contact, but not yet tasks to and from my Android
using the Funambol app. What I haven't gotten to work yet is syncing tasks.

>From following list posts I believe others have been able to sync tasks. What
did you do, to make it work? AFAIK the Astrid app should be involved, but I
don't know what else needs to be done.

Helping instructions welcome.
