Have you looked in '/etc/sogo/sogo.conf'?

  /* SQL authentication example */
  /* These database columns MUST be present in the view/table:
   *c_uid - will be used for authentication - it's the username or
usern...@domain.tld)
   *c_name - which can be identical to c_uid - will be used to
uniquely identify entries
   *c_password - password of the user, plain-text, md5 or sha
encoded for now

   *c_cn - the user's common name - such as "John Doe"
   *mail - the user's mail address
   * See the installation guide for more details
   */
  //SOGoUserSources =
  //  (
  //{
  //  type = sql;
  //  id = directory;
  //  viewURL = "mysql://sogo:$Isaiah53@127.0.0.1:3306/sogo/sogo_view";
  //  canAuthenticate = YES;
  //  isAddressBook = YES;

That plus the Installation guide should walk you through it.

Via RSAT the only possible way is to add user with minimal user information
first, then change it later. E.g. when adding user ‘jdoe’ you need to set this
as username / logon name/ and display name too. Once user is created, fill in
all required attributes (Name, Surname, Display Name, email) as you wish.

[SOGo] Some Questions regarding Contact Fields

2015-10-09 Thread Sebastian Pfohl
Hello. I'm planning to migrate to Sogo,if this is the right tool for me. But
before i must evaluate some things. I have tried the online demo and habe found
that there ate some limitations for contacts.

Is it correct that there are only 2 e-mail fields? It's it possible to sync
more than 2 fields with ActiveSync or with Outlook?

Is it possible to install Sogo on a Shared Webhost where I have only access via
FTP?

Are there Skins or Themes available to mimic a more modern look like
Outlook.com?

Can I use a external IMAP and SMTP Server? --

[SOGo] Calendar sharing to groups

2015-10-09 Thread dbet1
Calendars can shared to users. Can they be shared to groups also? I assume
yes, if I configure authentication against LDAP with groups. My problem: for
SOGo the group must have an email address, but I does not know a schema that
allows this. I am using posixGroups.

I installed such a setup a few months ago (using MySQL for authentication
for both Postfix/Dovecot and SOGo). I used this as a (german) guideline:

https://www.foteviken.de/?p=1247

It is not perfect but I was able to get my server up and running this way.

OK, but other open source products do not have this limit. I tried Tine 2.0

Hi Christian,

I don't think SOGo is demanding LDAP, you can also use SQL for example.
(see manual page 31).
But I wouldn't try to extend an existing database with the needed tables
as if there are sql updates in newer versions of SOGo

There is another thread [1] from 2012 regarding the similar issue and
Christian Mack mentioned creating a view which collects the data from
existing tables.

[SOGo] SOGo ZEG dovecot plaintext auth

2015-10-09 Thread Damon Hart
We're trying to evaluate SOGo via a ZEG-2.3.2.ova installation under
VirtualBox. Operations via the web interface (i.e. browsing to
http://192.168.15.225/SOGo, our local ZEG instance) work fine, but I
was unable to connect to the sample accounts using Thunderbird or
other IMAP clients because of authentication problems. This is
confirmed with a telnet session:

$ telnet 192.168.15.225 imap
Trying 192.168.15.225...
Connected to 192.168.15.225.
Escape character is '^]'.
* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE
LOGINDISABLED] Dovecot (Ubuntu) ready.
a1 LOGIN sogo1 sogo
* BAD [ALERT] Plaintext authentication not allowed without SSL/TLS, but your
client did it anyway. If anyone was listening, the password was exposed.
a1 NO [PRIVACYREQUIRED] Plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure
(SSL/TLS) connections.

Poking around on the ZEG host, I see the directive
'disable_plaintext_auth = yes' in /etc/dovecot.conf which is
consistent with the above error message. Changing this to 'no' and
restarting dovecot enables remote client connections. I'm leery of
changing anything on the ZEG server especially given this file's
timestamp coincides with ZEG-2.3.2.ova suggesting it was explicitly
edited for ZEG purposes.

Being new to SOGo (and OpenChange and dovecot for that matter) I'm
uncertain whether this represents a ZEG misconfiguration, though
http://www.openchange.org/cookbook/backends/sogo/dovecot.html
specifically suggests including 'disable_plaintext_auth =
no'. Additionally, the limitations listed under the ZEG Support tab
clearly state there's no SSL encryption support, presumably making
plain text authentication critical.

Is the 'disable_plaintext_auth = yes' directive an error in the ZEG
dovecot configuration? Is there a preferable/recommended work-around?
Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

thanks,

Damon

Migrate from where? What kind of functionality are you expecting to match /
supersede?

Make sure you test EAS with reasonable amount of data before you call it
working. I am talking GB’s and thousands of messages here.

I think not.

Zentyal has “nicer” theme and I believe that SOGov3 will have one.

I *think* this should be possible. All three should use the same user
authentication source though. (which is doable but kind of tricky).

[SOGo] Outlook 2003 connection oddities

2015-10-09 Thread Gerald Brandt

Hi,

Outlook 2003 seems to have some issues with SOGo/Samba. Things seem to
work for awhile, then things stop staying in sync with what I do with an
IMAP connection.

For example, new mail comes in. I can read it, and it gets marked as
read in Outlook. If I have a number of unread messages, and I 'mark all
as read' in thunderbird, the emails remain marked as unread in Outlook
2003. Also, 9 times out of 10, when I exit Outlook 2003, samba panics.

I don't seem to have the same issues with Outlook 2010. I haven't
tested 2007 or 2013 yet.

Does anyone have a similar experience?

Gerald
