[SOGo] New Samba4/OpenChange/Sogo tutorial
Hi Everybody We are very pleased to announce the availibility of the first version of igestis-openchange. This beta module add the necessary attribute of an account for OpenChange. Basically, it's not necessary to type openchange_newuser command after the creation of the employee. I have also updated my documentation available at http://iabsis.com/EN/article/35/Samba4 -and-OpenChange-on-a-Debian-or-Ubuntu-server/ The update bring the following fixed : - Installation of igestis-openchange added. If you want to install the module on a existing machine, simply type apt-get install igestis-openchange. I've not yet updated the SOSI virtual machine, I'm working on a version with Dovecot but still endure issues. I will inform you as soon the virtual machine is updated. Let me comments on the website if something is not working (or if it does). Best regards. -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] Invoices based on calendar entries
Hi Hansjörg, We are the developper for igestis, and we just release today a new module to make commercial invoices. Unfortunately, you cannot generate invoice from calendar for the moment, but it's probably possible to make a script to do that automatically. I let you have a look on our commercial module on http://www.igestis.org/installer-commercial-pour-igestis/ (sorry page is in french, but we are currently translating the website). You can also have a demo on http://demo.igestis.org If you have a budget to do that, we could also make you an offer to make the script for you. Thanks. Olivier. 2013/7/29 Hansjörg Schwarz kont...@webseiten-fuer-menschen.de Hello list, for a small business i need to create invoices based on calendar entries. At the moment i plan to connect LibreOffice-Base directly to the SOGo-database. Before i start working: Has anybody done this before? Is there maybe a better way to do this? [SOGo] Use custom way to bind on LDAP
Hello all, I made several tries without success, but I would like to know if it's possible to bind by taking care of the following points : - Active Directory users can authenticate with cn=login,cn=Users,dc=domain, but it's also possible to bind with login@domain, is it possible to give this information to SOGo? (not only for the Administrator). - Actually, when a user authenticate, SOGo uses the Administrator account to search in LDAP then check the login exist, but I don't like to have clear password in my files, is it possible to bind directly with the user account then use the same login to get the other user information useful for SOGo (with the format login@domain explain before). - If both are not possible, is it possible to make a custom search to find user in LDAP with filter? I've not make some tries for the moment as I prefer to use the way with login@domain. Thanks in advance. Best regards. Olivier. -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] Re: New Samba4/OpenChange/Sogo tutorial
I suppose there is some good reasons to install or not install from package your server. That I tried to provide is a way to have a working server without to install a huge of developer package necessary to compile the system and have a fast way to install and deploy in case you have several server to install (samba4 take a little bit time to compile). I understand that the actual packages provided by Inverse for Samab4 are a little bit buggy (it seems there are some missing librairies), but it's already a good start in the wait that distro includes them natively in their distributions. Best regards. Olivier. 2013/3/4 Netwodist netwod...@gmail.com That's one of the reasons I don't like this solution install from packages. Tricks like that are no good for long term maintenance on production systems. I have my stuff working from sources, no tricks, plain stuff the way it should be and I do not break my packaging system by forcing some packages on top of others etc. Kind regards, Netwodist On 04/03/13 04:16, Tim Sutinen wrote: Thanks! Re: [SOGo] Re: New Samba4/OpenChange/Sogo tutorial
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions Davor, I will add the acl, user_xattr has this is very useful for fine tuning the folder rights from Samba4. I think that this way is not the cleaner way to install Samba4, but package version doesn't provide the smbd and some missing librairies. That why I used Samba3 (it seems this is the official way), but as mentioned, it's not working all time. I will thing about the next step, may be provide fixed packages with missing files. Thanks again and good luck for the next. Olivier. 2013/3/4 Davor Vusir davor.vu...@live.se ** Number 2 is of course: edit /etc/fstab. Add acl, user_xattr to root mountpoint. And iGestis looks really promising. Keep up the good work! I will for certain keep an eye open for your product. Regarding Tims error; I ran in to the same errors. And I think it is a product of installing both Samba3 and Samba4. As Ubuntu has chosen to start Samba3 with Upstart and so has Inverse, both packages seem to collide and Samba3 gets precedence. I think the errors originates from Samba3 not recognising certain Samba4 parameters. During my installation I skipped installing Samba3-packages and went for Samba4. No errors. The vfs acl_attr.so error during domain provision is not present after following your instructions regarding Impossible to access in Samba4 shares. Thank you! And the correction of /etc/init.d/sogo works like a charm. Thank you. In your tutorial, I think you can skip the part about Samba3 and replace it with: apt-get install samba4 winbind4 krb5-user. And stress the fact to reprovision the Samba4 AD. My steps: 1. Install acl and attr: apt-get install acl attr 2. Edit /etc/fstab: add acl,user_xattr to root mountpoint. Reboot. 3. Install samba4 according to your known issues. 4. Stop Samba4. 5. Delete /etc/samba/smb.conf, rm -R /var/lib/samba/private/*, rm -R /var/lib/samba/sysvol/* 6. Provision a new AD: samba-tool domain provision --domain=EXAMPLE --adminpass=Pa$$w0rd --dns-backend=SAMBA_INTERNAL --server-role=dc --function-level=2008_R2 --use-xattr=yes --use-rfc2307 --realm=EXAMPLE.COM 7. Hi all, In order to have almost the perfect server, and updated again the tutorial available at : http://iabsis.com/EN/article/35/Samba4-and-OpenChange-on-a-Debian-or-Ubuntu-server/ The update bring the following tweak : - Less step to create a new user, ability to create from iGestis. - New iGestis update available today to version 2.3.3. For those that already have iGestis installed on their server, simply made apt-get update apt-get upgrade to have the latest version. Keep your configuration file if asked, and add the following line as is somewhere in /etc/igestis/ConfigIgestisGlobalVars.php (don't try to change %username% by something) : const LDAP_USER_RDN = cn=%username%; Don't hesitate to let me comments. Best regards and have a good weekend. Yes iGestis needs Mysql for it's own database, so dont worry, you can have Mysql in same time of postgresql. Note that igestis is optional but will offer a very easy way to manage employees . Re: [SOGo] [JOB] SOGo Expert or new SOGo installation in OpenVZ for 1 domain needed urgent
Hi, I think this could be very usefull to provide the logfile, but probably you got the same error than me. Are you using the latest git version like me? Olivier. 2013/1/6 eso...@newmidian.com First of all I apologize if this message should not be posted in this List. But I have a spanish client who need an urgent installation of SOGo. My work is select freelance teams or companies for IT clients outsourcing. We have a work of a SOGo installation in an OpenVZ VM for one domain and 90 accounts that has given lot of problems. The team working in it has given their best, but have been stuck with problems of Panic in Samba4 when in Outlook they try to login, synchronize and importing from Exchange 2007 .pst. My client need the SOGo running in two days, so, he need a real expert in SOGo that could take a look in the system, talk with the actual installer and find where is the problem... or... directly make a fresh install of SOGo. As my client had the prevention of installing OpenVZ in the server, if you have a 100% tested and working SOGo OpenVz image, it should be as easy as upload the image to the server and configure with the new domain. If the administrator of the list consider appropiate, I would like to ask all interested to contact me and I will put in contact with my client to further details. Work should start this Monday January 7th. So we'll take a very quick decision. Thanks for your attention, and hope SOGo continue evolving. [SOGo] Sogo cause Samba fault
Hi all, I have successfully compiled and packaged the lastest git of OpenChange and Sogo, but I endure an issue when I try to Open Outlook 2010. My configuration : * Debian Squeeze with some experimental packages enabled. * Samba4 installed from experimental. * OpenChange built from git (up to date the 2 jan 2013). * Sope, Sogo and OpenChange plugin built from git (up to date the 2 jan 2013). All the installation have been made with packaged done myself based on git://git.debian.org/pkg-samba/openchange.git. I don't use OpenLDAP but Samba4 has main directory. I can login without any issue on SOGo web interface and all is working has expected. The issue is coming from Outlook 2010. The first assistant is working fine and detects my user. But when Outlook try to configure the first time opening, it give an error that it's impossible to open folder because the there is network issue. In the same time, Samba process crashes with the attached log files. I now there is a problem actually with the trust between my server and the imap server, so I'm not able to login on IMAP server, but I'm not sure this issue is related to this settings. I will try to fix this trust now. Thanks all, samba version 4.0.0 started. My thoughts is to have a simplest server as possible and the easiest way to create users. Starting scripts missing I'm not sure, but it seems that if I restart the server installed like provided, the differents services are not starting up automatically. Ready for real life Does couple Samba4/OpenChange/Sogo are ready for the real life? I mean is it possible to use in a corporate environnement? Type 'make print-gnustep-make-help' for help. Python executable: /usr/bin/python Making all in subprojects of bundle SOGoBackend... Making all for subproject unrtf... make[4]: Nothing to be done for `internal-subproject-compile'. Making all for bundle SOGoBackend... Compiling file MAPIStoreTypes.m ... Also, does anybody already tried to make deb packages for Debian Squeeze? Thanks all. Olivier. -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
