[SOGo] Activesync stop syncing on iphone with underlying imap error

2021-12-24 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I have a couple iphone devices which Activesync can't sync after Apr
01 2021 (can't display messages after that date).
The only thing in common is that see this kind of error on sogo.log:

Dec 22 22:24:02 sogod [7639]: [ERROR]
<0x0x55c464e4a2f0[NGImap4Connection]> could not fetch url:
imap://USER@imap/INBOX/77538?tls=NO=default

I tried resetting the device sync with sogo-tool, rebuilding dovecot
indexes, but no luck.

Any suggestions?

Sorry,
found the smart reply.
Looks like a base64 string nesting.

Re: [SOGo] Gmail App Activesync reply Problem

2021-05-27 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
I put SOGo in debug mode, the issue is easily reproducible.

Below there's the entire payload logged. But the relevant part is:

div dir=autoCiao Max .div
dir=autoIgnora la mCIAO REDACTED, MI HA CHIAMATO
REDACTED PER SAPERE SE CI SONO SCONTI...br /br /NELLO
STORICO REDACTED NON NE VEDO...br /br /DAMMI TUE

Original message starts on "CIAO", reply is the part before. The reply
wa truncated. ("Ignora la m")

[SOGo] Gmail App Activesync reply Problem

2021-05-24 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hi,
some of our users (heavy mobile ones) are complaining that when
replying from gmail App with Activesync configured account the
received message arrives to recipient with truncated body.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug of gmail app and its smart reply.

Is there any workaround to prevent this?

Thanks

[SOGo] LDAP Migration

2020-11-04 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello!
We are about migrating our AD Domain, which is linked to SOGo via LDAP.
I'm wondering if is possible to migrate sogo profiles to new ldap source.
We mapped the username to Active Directory UPN, so now the user is user@domainA.
New user will be User@domainB.

I looked into the sogo database and figured out which step to take:
- rename c_uid field in sogo_user_profile table
- replace c_uid_field in sogo_acl table
- replace c_uid_field in sogo_quick_appointment table

Would it work? Or there's another supported way like backup/restore ?

Thanks,
Riccardo

Re: [SOGo] ActiveSync issues and configuration

2020-07-03 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
I'm running CentOS. In /etc/sysconfig/sogo I have PREFORK=46. So I
think the mystery of 48 workers is solved.
With 12G of RAM system load load is fine (stays on 0.7, 0.5, 0.4),
even there's very little free memory and some swap occupied.
Sometimes I see CPU spikes to 100% which increase load to 1 for
relatively little periods (5 minutes or so).

in sogo.log the only relevant informations i see are:

[ERROR] <0x0x55f5f3082f80[WOHttpTransaction]> client disconnected
during delivery of response for ...

ERROR(-[NGLdapSearchResultEnumerator nextObject]): does not support
result references yet ..

[WARN] <0x0x55f5e42982c0[WOWatchDogChild]> pid 1630 has been hanging
in the same request for 11 minutes

Re: [SOGo] ActiveSync issues and configuration

2020-07-02 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Thanks,
I re-followed the ActiveSync tuning guide, changed some values,
assigned more RAM (8 GB) to sogo VM and sync is running better.
The system is good until the memory utilization goes near 100%. From
there CPUs (4 at moment) start spiking (stay at 100% for long times),
load5 increases (from 0.05 to 3.00).

My new settings are

/* ActiveSync */
  WOWorkersCount = 60;
  WOWatchDogRequestTimeout = 59;
  SOGoMaximumPingInterval = 3540;
  SOGoMaximumSyncInterval = 3540;
  SOGoInternalSyncInterval = 60;

According to this I adjusted nginx/apache timeouts.

Currently I have 48 workers, 100% RAM used and and sogo is telling me
that there is no child to handle incoming requests!

Have I to increase the memory assigned to vm?

Is there a way to limit the amount of memory used per child without
cmpromising the activesync functionality and mantain the system
healthy?

What points I am missing?

[SOGo] ActiveSync issues and configuration

2020-06-30 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hi All,
I'm encountering some issues with ActiveSync.
Some clients (gmail app, ios app, outlook app) are losing the
synchronization with no apparent reason.

Sometimes for restore sync I have to reset device with

sogo-tool manage-eas resetdevice

or re-create the account on client device, which is very annoying.

Installation with approx 50 devices.
In this setup I'm using two sogo servers, one for internal network and
one for external. The two instances have some little differences in
configuration:

The external one has a different LDAP user filter
(memberOf=ExternalMailUsers...)
The external one is behind an nginx reverse proxy (client->nginx->apache->sogo)
The internal one is configured as usual (client->apache->sogo)

Both sogo servers have 4 GB of RAM.

On both SOGo servers ActiveSync settings are:

  WOWorkersCount = 42;
  WOWatchDogRequestTimeout = 12;
  SOGoMaximumPingInterval = 850;
  SOGoMaximumSyncInterval = 850;
  SOGoInternalSyncInterval = 30;
  SOGoMaximumSyncResponseSize = 10240;
  SOGoMaximumSyncWindowSize = 256;

  WOListenQueueSize = 52;

On nginx reverse proxy the configuration is:

location /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync{
access_log /var/log/nginx/activesync.log;
error_log  /var/log/nginx/activesync-error.log;
resolver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;

proxy_connect_timeout 75;
proxy_send_timeout 900;
proxy_read_timeout 900;

proxy_set_header Host $host;
proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;

proxy_pass
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync;
proxy_redirect
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync /;
}

On both apache servers:

ProxyPass /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync \

 retry=60 connectiontimeout=75 timeout=900

On external SOGo servers, which is the most loaded of two, I see lot
of errors like:

sogod [29139]: [ERROR] <0x0x5587ddd60480[WOWatchDog]> No child
available to handle incoming request!

and

[ERROR] <0x0x5587de41fc40[WOHttpTransaction]> client disconnected
during delivery of response for (len=63):
the socket was shutdown

It seems I do not have enough workers available on external SOGo server.
Sometimes it also happens the server goes swappy.

I tried to follow the documentation on setting worker numbers, sync
response size, listen queue but i feel a bit lost.

What are the correct guideline of Server capacity sizing regarding
number of clients?

thanks
Riccardo

Re: [SOGo] Enable ActiveSync to certain users

2019-07-04 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
assuming you are using ldap, for enabling activesync only for certain
users you could try to get a separate Activesync instance (See
https://sogo.nu/support/faq/dedicated-separate-sogo-instance-for-activesync.html)
and use a different ldap filter based on groups in its configuration
file.

Better you could create a dedicated install of SOGo only for activesync.

[SOGo] BCC not saved in message with Outlook 2016 Activesync

2019-02-13 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello, I have a strange issue with outlook 2016 (Activesync) and SOGo:
when a recipient is specified in BCC the message is correctly
delivered but if I look into Sent Items folder the message doesn't
have anything in BCC field.
In SOGO web UI recipient doesn't appear, even in source of message.
Tried the same with gmail app and it works like a charm.

[SOGo] Two instances of SOGo on same machine

2019-02-12 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello!
In my setup I have 2 sogo machines, one for clients in LAN and one for
clients outside LAN.
The only change in configuration in LDAP filter on user source of the
"External" machine.

Following this guide could I achieve my goal?
https://sogo.nu/support/faq/dedicated-separate-sogo-instance-for-activesync.html

Is it possible to use an alternative config file like
/etc/sogo/sogo-external.conf or have I to stick in XML Gnustep in the
home of newly created user?

Thanks

Re: [SOGo] ActiveSync: Search no longer shows more messages than "Sync Period" and inline images are not displayed

2018-11-23 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello Christian, thanks for your response.

Even with Solr indexing the situation is the same. On large (10 GB+)
mailboxes dovecot takes some time to build the response and if it takes
more than 30 secs the app goes timeout.

Cheers,
Riccardo

Re: [SOGo] ActiveSync: Search no longer shows more messages than "Sync Period" and inline images are not displayed

2018-11-22 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hi Thomas!
Sure I can identify the message. If you need it can provide the .eml file
from thunderbird.

Doing my tests I found that, regardless of what I set in sogo.conf or in
httpd config, if the search takes more than 30 seconds it throws error on
Gmail App but search continues on sogo process.
Isn't there a paged search option or a way to speedup search in dovecot
with large mailboxes?
Same behavior on IOS App.
On outlook Side no way to test it due to the CollectionID=0 problem.

Cheers!
Riccardo

Hi,
in outlook mail app collection ID is always 0, it seems you only can do
search in all folders.

I'm not very sure if this safety belt is tied to my Activesync session.

In Both cases I don't have CollectionID attribute in the request.

2018-11-16 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hi,
searching in Web UI is fine, below a transcript of IMAP session of web ui
search:

S[0x55c6babe5078]: 2 OK Capability completed.
S[0x55c6babe5078]: * ID ("name" "Dovecot")
S[0x55c6babe5078]: 3 OK ID completed.

S[0x55c6babe5078]: * LIST (\Noselect) "/" ""
S[0x55c6babe5078]: 5 OK List completed.
[And session goes on...]

Searching with Activesync (sogo 4.0.4.20181114-1.centos6 on CentOS 6.9):

S[0x55c6baefedb8]: 2 OK Capability completed.
S[0x55c6baefedb8]: * ID ("name" "Dovecot")
S[0x55c6baefedb8]: 3 OK ID completed.
S[0x55c6baefedb8]: * NAMESPACE (("" "/")) (("shared/DOMAIN/" "/"))

S[0x55c6baefedb8]: 6 NO Mailbox doesn't exist: (null)
S[0x55c6baefedb8]: * BYE Logging out
[And Session Stops]

And this is a session with a working Activesync installation (sogo
*4.0.1.20180806-1.el7.centos *on CentOS 7.5)
S[0x55c14c282830]: 2 OK Capability completed.

S[0x55c14c282830]: * NAMESPACE (("" "/")) (("shared/DOMAIN/" "/"))
(("Public/" "/"))
S[0x55c14c282830]: 6 OK Namespace completed.
S[0x55c14c282830]: 7 OK List completed.
[And Search goes on]

Since my sogo server are dedicated vm, could I solve my problem upgrading
my installation to CentOS 7.5?

Cheers!

[SOGo] SOGO Compile on CentOS

2018-11-15 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I'm trying to compile sogo in CentOS 7.5.
Which dependencies I have to install in order to successfully compile?

Now, when compiling sope, I have problems ffinding linked libraries:

./configure --with-gnustep --enable-debug --disable-strip
GNUstep environment:
  system: /usr/System
  local:  /usr/Local
  user:   /root/GNUstep
  path:   /usr/System:/usr/Network:/usr/Local:/root/GNUstep
  flat:   yes
  arch:   x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu
  combo:  gnu-gnu-gnu

Note: will install in GNUSTEP_LOCAL_ROOT: /usr/Local

Configuration:
  FHS:install in GNUstep tree
  debug:  yes
  strip:  no
  prefix: /usr/Local
  frameworks:
  gstep:  /usr/lib64/GNUstep/Makefiles
  config: /root/sope/config.make
  script: /usr/lib64/GNUstep/Makefiles/GNUstep.sh

creating: /root/sope/config.make
failed to link optional library: xml2
failed to link optional library: ldap
failed to link optional library: ssl
failed to link optional library: gnutls
failed to link optional library: pq
failed to link optional library: mysqlclient

And obiouvsly make fails.

Any hints?

Cheers!

2018-11-15 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
With sogo-tool everything seems ok.

On another system,same version, search is working fine. Are there settings
related to dovecot that I can play with?

Cheers

I tested search in another another system and it works.
Could it be the Mailbox doesn't exist: (null) part in the log?

[SOGo] ActiveSync: Search no longer shows more messages than "Sync Period" and inline images are not displayed

2018-11-07 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I'm aware that Activesync on mobile devices synchronizes 1 month max of
messages. But I remember that some time ago, when a I did a search, it
returned older messages also.
Am I remembering wrong? Is annoying for mobile users not haveing the
ability to access old messages.

I'm also facing a problem with Outlook for Android/iOS, gmail app and apple
mail: when a message has inline images, instead of image a placeholder is
displayed. If the image is attached it is ok to download and display it.

Cheers,
Riccardo

[SOGo] Web interface customization

I'm looking for hints in order to:

- customize the logo
- customize the color palette

I searched through the list but I cant't find nothing exhaustive.

[SOGo] SOGo Integrator via HTTP, Connector via HTTPS

2018-07-09 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I'm deploying sogo connector/integrator in my network, with updater script.

If I configure Integrator for installing extension via http everything
works fine, but if I try to move to HTTPS when thunderbird opens a window
appears sayning "updating extensions" but extension never update.

Server is running apache with HTTPS letsencrypt certificates.

Is it possible to tell integrator to download extensions via http and
configure integrator to bind calendars and address book via https?

Thanks,
Riccardo

[SOGo] More Activesync Issues

2018-07-02 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
When using Activesync, if I send a message to a wrong recipient the message
stay stuck in outbox.

Using thunderbird or sogo web UI a popup appears, telling the recipient is
wrong.

We are also encountering problems with outlook 2016: messages aren't copied
to Sent Items, even if specific option is flagged.

Cheers,
Riccardo

[SOGo] Gmail App and Activesync issues: truncated replies

2018-06-26 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I'm struggling with activesync: in gmail app if I reply to a mail the reply
is truncated or blank.

Content-Type header varies according to app used.

If I send with gmail app relevant headers are:

Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
boundary="=_=-_OpenGroupware_org_NGMime-25525-152290.004214-0--"

If I send using Outlook app

Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
boundary="=_Part_8518_1954500760.152107480"

[SOGo] Activesync Issues

2018-06-19 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I'm always facing Activesync issues.
I'm running sogo 4.0.0.20180612-1.centos6.

When searching through messages search work fine but message body is blank.
Attachments open fine.

This behavior happens on iOS, Android and even outlook.

Relevant Activesync settings are:

WOWorkersCount = 15;
 WOWatchDogRequestTimeout = 6;
 SOGoMaximumPingInterval = 600;
 SOGoMaximumSyncInterval = 600;
 SOGoInternalSyncInterval = 30;
 SOGoMaximumSyncResponseSize = 10240;
 SOGoMaximumSyncWindowSize = 256;

[SOGo] Activesync issues after update

2018-03-28 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
We updated sogo to the latest v4 nightly and we're facing a strange issue
with activesync: messages in draft folder keeps multiplicating, in my draft
folders I got 18K messages (same message!).

Removing account on device and recreating seems solving the issue.

This happens both on IOS and Android.

Regards,
Riccardo

So I downgraded the DC from Windows 2012 R2 to 2008 R2.
Now I'll try with migration operations...

[SOGo] Some pre-deployment questions

2016-08-05 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello,
I'm deploying SOGo in a small single organization and before going to
production I'd need to share with you my headaches...

SOGo auth database is a Windows 2012 AD LDAP.
We're moving from an Exchange Windows 2003 SBS.
Current domain name is "somedomain.local"

I'd need to accomplish these steps:
- Install SOGo
- Migrate Exchange imap
- Uninstall exchange
- Decommission Windows 2003
- Change domain name
- Install Openchange

My question are:
- Has anyone of you accomplished succesfully a migration scenario like this?
- Can i use as SOGo uid field the userPrincipalName or is better to use
sAMAccountName? (In a multi-tenant scenario I always used UPN, but never
used openchange)
- If I use UPN is still possible in a second time to change the uids into
database?

Thank you

[SOGo] Evaluate SOGo 2.0

2012-05-12 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hello!
Is it possible to have two simultanoeus SOGo installations (1.3 and 2.0),
obviously on different machines, that share same database backend?

Does update to 2.0 makes changes on mysql schema?

My setup has imap/SMTP, SOGo and mysql on separate hosts.

I wish to test SOG0 2.0 with native outlook compatibility but i don't want
to break my (pre)production environment.

[SOGo] Clarification about LDAP/IMAP/SMTP

2011-06-09 Thread Riccardo Bicelli
Hi everyone,
I need some clarification about installation.

I'm deploying SOGo in a small organization (20 users). I want it to work
with Active Directory using Thunderbird and SOGo integrator.

If I configure Active Directory as user source for SOGo, have I to do the
same with my IMAP (dovecot) and SMTP (postfix) servers?

Thanks!
