[SOGo] Centos command

2023-01-12 Thread "Support FoxNet"

Hello

I am one of the creators of the integration project between SOGo and
Directadmin.

I will create tutorials from a blog that I will create about the different
installation of SOGo on different platforms, Debian, Ubuntu, Centos, etc ...

The question that I pause in the community of SOGo, is that when one has, a
panel already installed is configured in PHP / Mysql, on Centos, not to create
conflict with Mysql among other things, what is the exact command, on Debian, I
know that when I install SOGo, I execute this command:sudo apt-get install
--no-install-recommends sogo sogo-activesync
I have no conflict, I configure the rest and it's fine

But on Centos ?

Here is
Thanks for your help

This error message only tells you, that you have some empty or
nonexisting variable when ther should be some content.

When does it happen?

In order to narrow that down, you should enable some related debugging
in SOGo.

Did you upgrade from < 5.6.0?
If you did, drop the sessions table before starting SOGo to make sure it

Re: [SOGo] SOGO reusing Dovecot db password issue

2022-10-08 Thread Serveria Support
The passwords are not being stored in plain text in the db but they can
be visible in the logs. Disabling the logs won't help in my case as an
attacker can reenable logging if the system gets compromised and grab
all passwords from there. Dovecot docs describe it like this:

DO NOT use password directly. It can contain % which is interpreted as
variable expansion and can cause errors. Also, it might be visible in
debug logging. Suggested approaches are base64 encoding, hex encoding or
hashing the password. With hashing, you get the extra benefit that
password won’t be directly visible in logs.

So, how to perform this hashing? At which point it has to be done?

If you are storing passwords in plaintext in your DB, that's one thing
you should think about.
As regards your question, just disable all debugging from
10-logging.conf (dovecot).

But I think you're going the wrong way. Windows Mail and other

I am not going the wrong way actually. I wanted to be sure that the
right table is in place because SOGo uses specific column names.
In my setup, I created a VIEW to use with SOGo. (BTW, I'm curious
about the HOWTO that you followed for your installation).
Now that we know the right table columns exist, we can focus on
debugging.
1. I am assuming that your dovecot-sql.conf.ext also has:
default_pass_scheme = ssha512, because this is what you have specified
in sogo.conf.
2. I am assuming that in sogo.conf, you have set MySQL4DebugEnabled =
YES; (I mean you've removed the // from the line) and restarted sogod.
3. I am assuming that in dovecot's 10-logging.conf, you have set the
following params:

log_path = /var/log/dovecot-error.log
# Log file to use for informational messages. Defaults to log_path.
info_log_path = /var/log/dovecot-info.log
# Log file to use for debug messages. Defaults to info_log_path.
debug_log_path = /var/log/dovecot-debug.log

auth_verbose = yes
auth_verbose_passwords = yes
auth_debug = yes #Shows SQL queries
auth_debug_passwords = yes #Logs the passwords and the used scheme so
the problem can be debugged

and restarted dovecot!

Now just look at the logs and you will discover why sogo is
experiencing errors.

Re: [SOGo] SOGO reusing Dovecot db password issue

MySQL4DebugEnabled = YES; line is enabled in my sogo.conf

I'm not using any hashing atm, it's a test install, but if you mean
password algorithm I'm using ssha512 (used it as my Dovecot was using it
already and I was too lazy to change it). It seems to be supported:

Possible values are: none, plain, crypt, md5, md5-crypt, sha256-crypt
and sha512-crypt, smd5, cram-md5 and sha, sha256, sha512 and its ssha
(e.g. ssha or ssha256) variants

Any ideas?

Dovecot can only listen on the following ports by default: 110 (POP3),
143 (IMAP4), 993 (IMAPS), 995 (POP3S).
It can never listen to port 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS) which are only
used by a web server (Nginx, Apache, Lighttpd).

The logs you are showing are from Postfix and not dovecot!
Please enable debugging on dovecot and look at the dovecot logs. You
need to be seeing SQL queries on the logs.
Please re-read your 10-logging.conf from dovecot, enable debugging are

[SOGo] Encrypted emails not showing (greyed out)

Hi,

We have configured Sogo + Dovecot mailserver. Everything was working
fine out of the box. Then we added Dovecot mail_crypt encryption plugin
to the config. It seems to do the job - emails are getting encrypted,
stored etc. The only issue - emails are not being showed by Sogo (or to
be more precise sort of a greyed out silhouette is being shown). The
only possibly related error in Sogo logs was this: [ERROR]

In order to access the matching information from the "storage_keys"

Hope that helps a bit.

How can I make it work with SOGO? So far, at a first glance, there's a
table named 'users' in SOGO db
which contains usernames, passwords etc of SOGO users. However, it's
not very clear how Dovecot is communicating with SOGO?
Dovecot users = SOGO users? Or SOGO grabs Dovecot users and copies
them into this 'users' table?
Perhaps someone here can guide me on how it works and how to connect
SOGO with Dovecot crypt plugins properly?

How can I make it work with SOGO? So far, at a first glance, there's a
table named 'users' in SOGO db
which contains usernames, passwords etc of SOGO users. However, it's not
very clear how Dovecot is communicating with SOGO?
Dovecot users = SOGO users? Or SOGO grabs Dovecot users and copies them
into this 'users' table?
Perhaps someone here can guide me on how it works and how to connect
SOGO with Dovecot crypt plugins properly?

Re: [SOGo] Users can't configure clients to use ActiveSync

2019-11-09 Thread Support

Hello

3 things

First thing, what does Sogo's logs say?

Second thing, the Office version, is that the last one?

3rd thing, when you add the URL with the subdomain with
/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync, you add it without the "https", because if you
add it, was that my mistake, it actually adds an error message.

Have a good day

We've recently begun receiving reports from some of our students indicating
they can't configure their phones to access Sogo. I've verified this using
iOS and an encountering the problem as well. Users select to add a Microsoft

prompted, enter their password when prompted, then click next. iOS displays
"Verifying..." for a few seconds and then prompts for more information. They
enter the correct server, username, and password then click next. After a
pause of about a minute with "Verifying" displayed the error "Unable to verify

The nginx logs are showing a LOT of ActiveSync traffic. I believe this
problem is related to something in my configuration, not users ability to
access our server. It appears users who have preexisting configs are fine.
New users can’t seem to configure their devices. I am seeing the following
errors within my SOGo log:
Nov 06 10:05:45 sogod [32707]: [ERROR] <0x0x55720946ebf0[WOWatchDog]> No child

AW: [SOGo] Questions about SOGo

Hello,

thank you for your effort and the explaination!

I managed to get the Identities working in Thunderbird, but I think Thunderbird
is sadly not an Option for us. But I discovered that em Client does it fully
automatically (so it discovers these aliases on its own!).

The Plugin for Outlook doesn’t work for me, I guess it needs Microsoft Exchange
or Office 365 to work. It’s sad that Outlook cant choose the right address from
its own (it does this only if the address was added through a mailbox, not if
you added it manually).

One remaining Question is the Mobile Client – which one do you use to have this
functionality on mobile devices? I guess outlook wont do it; has anyone tried
nine, for example?

Hi Alwin,

we have quite a similar setup here. As most colleagues here have several
"identities" (which is, they work for both companies sharing this office space)
and mail should be sent with the corresponding signature, depending on the
original incoming address, the mail program must select the correct identity on
reply.

Luckily for us, Thunderbird does exactly this. As you noticed, the webmailer
also looks into the original mail and selects an appropriate "identity".

So this is obviously a mail user agent thing, in the first place at least. I am
aware of huge differences between Outlook versions out there, and at least that
Outlook 2016 that my PC has (and that is not opened more than once a year,
luckily) seems not to do a proper matching. I guess you should look into the
options that Outlook (+AddOns) might offer here, rather than on the server-side.

It seems that some people achieved to have Thunderbird-like "identities" in
Outlook by creating more that one account (and disabling all but the first
one). I did not read though wether the automatic choice of sender address came
with this.

You might want to have a look at https://www.ivasoft.com/smartreply2010.shtml
(not affiliated to it, just a google result), which seems to quite match your
request (add-on comes at 50$/workstation). So there seems to be a lack of
functionality in Outlook, and someone makes a living off this.

For emClient, I cannot tell, as I never used that one, sorry.

On the other hand you can do all kinds of smart or stupid things in rewriting
outgoing mails on the server. I would recommend against that approach, as the
reply mail does not necessarily bear the information of the original target
mail address. You would have to store this on the "way in", with the message
id, and in the outgoing mail, lookup the "Message-Reply-ID" (or similar header
field) and find the address to insert from your database. Yes this is possible,
and a rather ugly hack! E.g. in an Exim setup, you might add a "router" there
to pass your mail into some manipulation scripts, and probably insert some bad
bugs into mail handling while doing so. BTDT.

ActiveSync is a protocol from Microsoft which works over HTTP.
You can not simulate it with manual HTTP GET requests.

Get an ActiveSync client for testing.

Hi guys,

I wonder if there's a possibility to integrate some kind of a file

looked at OwnCloud but it my case that would be an overkill as we only
need file sharing functionality really. If you have some experience

https://lists.inverse.ca/sogo/arc/users/2013-04/msg00334.html).

I’ve tried ‘yum install sogo –skip-broken’, but there are a lot of dependency
issues (see attached screenshot).

Is there any way to work around this? Or should I go for a server without
DirectAdmin?

Kind regards,
Marco Visser

Dear all,

Currently, I'm investigating Sogo as an Exchange alternative. In understand
Sogo natively connects to Outlook up to 2013.

The current latest version of Outlook is Outlook 2016. Is 2016 supported as
well?

Kind regards,

[SOGo] DNS config

2015-05-22 Thread Foxnet Support
hello
Do you have a specific configuration for this?
thank you
Michel

Name Service Configuration for Web Services
The autodiscovery service must be made accessible in order to advertise the web
services provided by OpenChange. This can be done in two ways.

The first is to associate the FQDN autodiscover.example.com. with the machine
that hosts Samba 4 / OpenChange, by adding a CNAME entry in your DNS
configuration. Note that, instead or changing your DNS server configuration,
you can simply add a similar entry to the hosts file of the Windows machine
from where you’ll run Outlook, which is handy for testing purposes.

The second option is to add a SRV entry to your DNS configuration where the
_service value would be Autodiscover and the _protocol would be _tcp.

For example:

_autodiscover._tcp.example.com. IN SRV 0 0 443 sogo.example.com.
Again, the autodiscovery service must be accessible over HTTPS.

apt-get update

run the command:

the source will be created
Do not forget to install the libraries Mysql Postgresql, because if you do it
not, you will get errors when recompiling SOPE

run the command inside the folder you download previously, if you encounter an
error during launch, choose the 2nd ...

dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -D -us -uc

Or
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -D -us -uc -d

Then if all goes well, install the packages like this

cd ..
dpkg -i *.deb

For Sogo, remade the same stage with the installation of Sope

In the / usr / src
run the command:

apt-get source sogo

run the command inside the folder you download previously, if you encounter an
error during launch, choose the 2nd ...

dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -D -us -uc

Or
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -D -us -uc -d

Then if all goes well, install the packages like this

cd ..

dpkg -i sogo-activesync*.debsogo_2.2.*.deb

Apt-get install memcached rpl tmpreaper

At home, it works in Debian 8, and perfectly functional

Re: Re: [SOGo] Assistance with missing calendars - TB error

2013-04-05 Thread support
Yep - This happened with me, and appeared to be related to the automatic update
of Thunderbird. You do not lose any data, and indeed you can continue to add
data without it being lost, it just doesn't display.

SOLUTION IS:

1. In Thunderbird. Menu-Tools-Addons-Extensions and disable Inverse Sogo
Connector.
2. Restart Thunderbird
3. Menu-Tools-Addons-Extensions and re-enable Inverse Sogo Connector.
4. Restart Thunderbird

Problem solved.

Issue appears to have been something related to the automatic update of
Thunderbird messing up something in the way the extension interacted with the
display of the data. Hopefully this works for you.

[SOGo] Thunderbird Reminder Issue

2012-08-07 Thread support
SOGo Server:
CentOS 6
Sogo 1.3.17
Thunderbird 10.x
Lightning 1.2.3
SOGo Connector 10.0.3
SOGo Integrator 10.0.3
PostgreSQL 8.4.12

LDAP Server:
CentOS 6
OpenLDAP

I am running into an issue lately with Thunderbird. I don't know how long this
has been going on. This problem may have existed on previous versions of SOGo
or the Thunderbird extensions, but I didn't notice it until recently.

The problem occurs when a person (#1) is subscribed to another person's (#2)
calendar (view only). If person #2 has current alarms set for events, these
alarms will show up as reminders on person #1's Thunderbird. When person #1
attempts to dismiss these alarms he/she gets the following error:
An error occurred when writing to the calendar Bob Smith!
Error Code: MODIFICATION_FAILED
Description:
Status Code: 403, The user lacks the required permission to perform the
request.

?xml version=1.0 encoding=ISO-8859-1?
html xmlns=http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml;
bodyh3An error occurred during object publishing/h3ptried to access
private object (0x0x25ca428, SoClass=SOGoAppointmentObject)/p/body
/html

When person #1 attempts to set person #2's calendar to not show reminders, this
setting does not take effect. Upon restart of Thunderbird, the Show
Reminders box is once again checked. The only way to turn off the reminders
is to login to the SOGo web interface and uncheck the Show Alarms box for
that particular person's calendar.

This problem occurs on both Windows (XP and 7) and Linux (Ubuntu 10.04)
clients. Right now, using the web interface to disable alarms is a suitable
workaround. However, it would be nice to have this functionality working in
Thunderbird, as well. I don't know whether this is a SOGo (extension?) issue,
or a Thunderbird issue.

If anyone has some suggestions to solve this issue, I'm all ears!

Thanks!

Greg

This depends on the Protokoll used to synchronize.
If your IMAP server supports PUSH and your email client too, then you
_can_ use push for it.
CardDAV and CalDAV are only PULL capable in SOGo at the moment (don't
know if there are plans to change this).

Sorry, I don't know Funambol to answer this for it.

There is an ActiveSync port for SOGo named sogosync.
https://github.com/xbgmsharp/sogosync
It's really new and I had no time to test it yet.

But be aware that push needs a permanent connection between your client
and server. That's not what you want for a road warrior with changing
IPs and time based accounting.

2. Is there a way to segregate users or groups of users in their own

Do you only want an address book for a group or do you mean complete
separate them (e.g. also for autocompletion of emails)?

In order to create an Address book for a group, someone (e.g. a group
member) has to create a new address book in his account and share it
with the others. This can be read only or writable for them.

If you want to completely separate them, you need a multi-domain-setup.
I don't think that the additional configuration effort is reasonable for
5 people, but that decision is up to you.

Kind regards,
Christian Mack

Basically I was looking for a possible Exchange replacement with
multiple tenant support or at least an easy way to implement multiple

it comes close to replacing Exchange.

[SOGo] Address Book New/Subscribe/Delete Buttons Missing on Upgrade to 3.108

2011-12-15 Thread support
We have been running Thunderbird 3.1.x with SOGo Lightning 1.0b2.105i and both
Connector and Integrator 3.105 installed. We just upgraded to SOGo Lightning
1.0b2.108i and Connector/Integrator 3.108.

On the back end, we are running SOGo 1.3.8b-1 on CentOS6.

Previously, the Address Book in Thunderbird had three buttons (icons) just
above the list of address books on the left side of the screen. These buttons
allowed a user to create a new address book, subscribe to an address book, or
delete an address book. While similar buttons still exist in the calendar
screen, it seems these buttons are no longer available in the Address Book. I
tried wiping out the Thunderbird profile, and creating an entirely new profile
just to make sure that this wasn't some sort of profile corruption.

This isn't a show stopper, as we can still access these functions through the
SOGo webmail client. However, it would be nice to find a way to replace these
buttons.

Is this a bug, or is it by design?

Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, I need export a calendar to .ics

Or it must be done on SOGo-server side?

This is currently not possible.
You only could export this calendar, delete it and reimport it by the
other user.
But there is only one owner at any given Time for a calendar.
