Hi, I like it too. But I am seeing a bizzare problem on IE (not firefox)
When I put a simple gridview in the one section of my existing webpage,
The cursor keep blinking with busy shape and stretch the gridview display
horizontally and never end. I saw many javascripts included so I'd think
some ajax updating occurring? but why it change the display width?
There could be some conflict of css but what updating the layout?
Can it be disabled?

Thanks

Hello, Matej:

I spent 3 hour trying to find out why. I still did not know why
but I found out how to avoid it. The problem occurred
as I put the grid component inside table td
once I move it out of the table, Everything works fine.
Never seen this kind of things. Perhaps some css/javascript tries
to recalculate the size of the cell?

Thanks

If I change wicket:extenddiv wickid:id=grid/
to span wicket:id=grid/ the problem goes away
even if I put it inside td
of course, the display loses style.
So looks like it is a css issue.

below is the what in the source html

td id=content
wicket:childwicket:extend
div class=imxt-grid imxt-vista wicket:id=grid
id=grid7wicket:panel

!-- This is used to size the data table properly in Internet explorer
--
div class=imxt-container1 id=main

div class=imxt-top-toolbar-container

/div

div class=imxt-head-container

Re: TreeGrid and DataGrid open source

2008-01-15 Thread Matej Knopp
Hi,

indeed there was a problem when the grid was put in a table. Mostly
because IE was trying to size the outer table accordingly to the grid
because the outer table didn't have table-layout fixed set.

I've commited a fix to SVN. You can test it by building the release
yourself (to build grid from svn you'll also need current wicket
snapshots).

Re: TreeGrid and DataGrid open source

2008-01-14 Thread jweekend

Matej,
As I wrote a few weeks ago when you kindly let me have a first play with
these great new components, I think you have done a high-quality piece of
work that shows off some of Wicket's power and presented it in a
professional way. Your gesture to now let people use it for free is a very
nice one too; I reckon that there is a lot of Javascript in there that was
not easy (or quick) to get right.
Looking ahead, I can imagine that as Wicket becomes ever more popular, there
will be many organisations who will see it as a big plus that there are
well-respected developers building, selling and maintaining well engineered,
reliable and high-quality components with interesting features that they
cannot or cannot afford to build and maintain themselves.
On the other hand, having such impressive components, and for free, says a
lot about the qualities of Wicket and the people that build and maintain it.

I strongly second this. I would love to have libraries of
sophisticated, well engineered, documented and supported components,
and also see the dev team get something back for all the hard work
they've put into the community. This benefits everyone. It would be a
no brainer to sell my boss on spending a few hundred or thousand on
such a library rather than spending an equivalent amount of time
building it ourselves.

Great looking stuff, Matej (as always)!
