Hi Ziggy,

You might want to check with Firebug what page is called by the auto
suggest widget and the rights for that page.
Your issue could be related to: http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XE-539.

On 1/17/10 8:18 PM, Ziggy wrote:

Does anyone know why this happens?

This appears to only be an issue in the tagcloud, as the URL

  appended to it.

So, should I raise the jira issue wrt the tagcloud alone or is this

You could raise an issue on the tagcloud I think copying what you've
 experienced above in the issue.

I already reported the issue a couple weeks ago. See
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XATAG-7 . It is marked as fixed though,
maybe only in XWiki Enterprise 1.9 or on a more recent version of XWiki
Enterprise 1.8 (it was Fixed in rev 18753. , which looks more recent than
yours) .

[xwiki-users] Tags in virtual wikis

2009-03-17 Thread PERINAUD Christophe
Hello all,

I saw in the list that Vincent said in the past that to make tags working in
virtual wikis, you have to set programming rights to users in the main wiki (if
i got right ...)
I changed rights in the main wiki but it still works in the main wiki but not
in virtuals ones.

Can you tell me how to do ?
(Users are checked and updated from LDAP - In case of it's important)

Thank you

I copied paste the content I had for the tags page from my local wiki.
2 things could have happened (still checking):
 1) the page had the wrong content
 2) when I saved I saved using programming rights and that page is
using some private api that requires programming rights (which you
 don't have)

 2) is most likely.

I've checked and indeed it uses a private api which requires programming rights:

#set ($tags = $xwiki.search($sql))

On wiki farms only users from the master wiki have programming rights (provided
they are given programming rights there). This is to prevent subwikis to do
dangerous things.

Thus if you modify this page (or any other page requiring programming
rights) and you save it, it'll not execute correctly since the private apis
won't execute. Hence on myxwiki.org you need to ask here on this list if you
need someone to save some page with programming rights.

Also is there a list of all Hibernate Object names that relate to

I've checked and indeed it uses a private api which requires
programming rights:

#set ($tags = $xwiki.search($sql))

On wiki farms only users from the master wiki have programming rights
(provided they are given programming rights there). This is to prevent
subwikis to do dangerous things.

Thus if you modify this page (or any other page requiring programming
rights) and you save it, it'll not execute correctly since the private
apis won't execute. Hence on myxwiki.org you need to ask here on this
list if you need someone to save some page with programming rights.

[xwiki-users] tags

2008-09-19 Thread angel Vilardell Perez

hello everyone.
I've been trying, without doing it, to order tags. I mean, I want all the tags
to be saved in upper case, even if the user writes it in lower case. I don't
want ta have games, Games or GAMES tag, I only want to have GAMES tag,
and the respective pages inside of it (this is automatic). Is there any way of
doing this? I've been looking the code of the page (tagedit.vm) but It's hard
to me, I understand a litte what it does but i can't find the way to do what I
explained. I would like to know wich code and where I have to write it to save
the tags in upper case. I suppose i would only have to write the code in the
creation template because when you modify a page i request the tag wich is in
upper case I think.
Thank you so much!

syntax):
jQuery:

});
JavaScript:

Hi Mihails,

You can find them in the table XWIKILISTITEMS (select XWL_VALUE where
XWL_NAME='tags').

There are also references to the tables XWIKILISTS, XWIKIPROPERTIES:
XWIKILISTITEMS - XWIKILISTS
 FOREIGN KEY (XWL_ID, XWL_NAME)
 REFERENCES XWIKILISTS (XWL_ID, XWL_NAME));

XWIKILISTS - XWIKIPROPERTIES

Re: [xwiki-users] Tags in XWki Watch

2008-04-16 Thread Guillaume Lerouge
Hi Dean,

I would like the employees to be able to choose from a predefined list
of tags, that someone would have to be able to edit. This keeps the tags
consistent and avoids the inevitable case/spelling/mistypes that could
  result in orphaned tags.

I guess that this is not the pure intended use of tagging I know but I
can se how it would be very useful, at least to me :-)

You are completely right, I think the situation you present is quite often
actually, but, as you mentioned, it is some sort of hijacking tags and
 using them as categories.
If it's only about case/spelling/mistypes, then the new tags suggest
feature in XWatch M4 can help you avoid the situation in a more elegant
manner than restricting the tag list.

Another thing that might interest you is that in XWiki Enterprise you can
set tags to work either as tags or categories. You've got both the free tags
with autosuggest list of categories to pick from option, cf
http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Applications/TagApplication .

As for XWiki Watch, nother use case I can see is that if a tag becomes
deprecated : let's say you had documents tagged Yahoo!, but since they've
been bought you want to turn them all into Microsoft tags - that's not so
much a technical issuer as a semantic one to me : the Yahoo! tags were added
at a moment when it made sense to call them this way, thus they convey an
element of information.

What you might want to do is to automatically add a microsoft tag to all
the articles already tagged Yahoo! - heavier, but you keep more
information... WDYT ?

Another direction we might to go in is to improve the way filters work in
Watch : instead of displaying all the articles matching both tag A tag B ,
we could add a modifier that would let people display all articles for Tag A
or Tag B or both. Same for keywords, etc...

Re: [xwiki-users] Tags in XWki Watch

2008-04-15 Thread ancapaula . luca
Hi Xavier,

editing the list of tags is a quite strange concept because by definition
a list of tags generated by a community of users, so it makes almost no
sense editing the list itself.

The means to edit a list of tags are to edit the content that generates
it, i.e. the articles from which the list is generated.

Just click the tag to change so that you filter out all articles tags with
that tag and edit the tags of the articles in order to remove / change the
undesired tag.
There is no 'bulk tag' or 'bulk change' for the moment in watch and I'm
not really sure this could be used for tag editing or tag removing.

Have fun,
Anca Luca

 Hi there,

how can I edit the list of tags in XWiki Watch?

I have twice the same word, once with a capital letter, once without it,
 and
I'd like to straighten this ...

 Thanks,

Re: [xwiki-users] Tags in XWki Watch

2008-04-15 Thread Dean Sellers
Hi Everyone,
I could find a use for tag 'editing', I don't think it is a strange as
it seems. Consider the following for instance;

I have an application where users (we will call them employees) can
publish documents relating to a certain subject, or group of subjects.
They are product and application based. Other users (lets call them
customers) can then watch the subjects that concern them to be made
aware of updates/bug fixes/application notes etc...

You are completely right, I think the situation you present is quite often
actually, but, as you mentioned, it is some sort of hijacking tags and
using them as categories.
If it's only about case/spelling/mistypes, then the new tags suggest
feature in XWatch M4 can help you avoid the situation in a more elegant
manner than restricting the tag list.

We are looking into implementing the tags list in watch: giving the
possibility to the administrator to configure the usage of a tags list.

Thanks for your interest and feedback on xwiki watch,
Have fun!

[xwiki-users] Tags per space

2007-10-26 Thread Marie Sauvage - EBM WebSourcing

Hi all !

I'm new to XWiki and trying to configure it to ours needs.
I've configured a private space for registered users only. My problem
is that the tag page (http://myserver/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Tags)
is public and include all tags of the wiki. Is there a way to make this
page only reference tags from the main space and to have another page
(like myserver/xwiki/bin/view/Private/Tags) referencing only
tags from this space ?
I'm trying to have a look at the content of the tags page but don't
know if something can be reproduce/modified to create a similar page
only for private space...

thanks in advance for you help !
Marie Sauvage.
