[xwiki-users] Incorrect creation and modification dates after importing documents from xar

2014-07-21 Thread Valdis Vītoliņš
I've used
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Large+XAR+Import
snippet and
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/XWiki+Platform+-+WikiStream+-+UI
application to migrate XWiki to the new server.
In both cases they show incorrect document creation and last change dates.
E.g.:

Last modified by Administrator on 2011-06-06 17:12
Created by User on 2014-07-21 10:11

but it should be vice versa:

Last modified by Administrator on 2014-07-21 10:11
Created by User on 2011-06-06 17:12

History table shows following:
1.1 Administrator 2011-06-06 17:12 Imported from XAR Current version

Which is also misleading, because if XAR import is noted in history, it
should show last modification date (2014-07-21 10:11), not creation date
(2011-06-06 17:12).

I can register new bug if my thoughts seems reasonable, but I'm more
interested in workaround how to fix it in the way.

Thanks!

Could you print the XML located in the XAR file for the the example

Re: [xwiki-users] XWiki User/Dev meet up in France? Paris?

Hi Vincent,

I'm interested (as Xwiki user/admin). Keep me in touch if it's organized.

Subject: [xwiki-users] XWiki User/Dev meet up in France? Paris?

Hi XWiki users,

I’m wondering if we’d be enough to start organizing an XWiki users/dev meetup
in France.

Could you let me know in reply if you’d be interested in joining if I was to
organize such a meetup?

If we’re enough we could imagine organizing it in September or October for
example. XWiki SAS has an office located in Paris
(http://www.xwiki.com/lang/en/Company/Contact) and they could host us.

Note for those who’d be coming from afar, I’m sure that it would be possible to
have you sleep at some XWiki SAS employee’s place in Paris or even in the
office (there’s a shower and kitchen).

Interesting or not?

If you’re interested what would you be interested in doing/seeing during this
time? We could imagine a 3-4 hours meetup or even a 1 day meetup. We could also
imagine having a hackathon during the time, in this case probably 2 days would
be nicer.

WDYT?

Thanks
-Vincent

Re: [xwiki-users] help to migrate from xwiki 2.3

2014-07-21 Thread Marius Dumitru Florea
The condition used to display the link to the wiki administration in
the Home menu is this:

$xwiki.hasAccessLevel('admin', $xcontext.user,
${xcontext.mainWikiName}:XWiki.XWikiPreferences)

Put this in a wiki page, inside Velocity macro, and see if the output
for a simple user is 'true'. If so, then you need to check the Access
Rights configuration from the Administration. Check the rights given
to that user directly, then check the rights given to the groups the
user belongs to. You can also edit in object mode the
XWiki.XWikiPreferences page to see what rights objects it has.

Hope this helps,
Marius

Any idea how I can fix this?

Do I have to migrate to intermediate version before the 6.1?

Yes I know. I've added this example for 2 reasons:

1) It took me a while to understand the existing example. It didn’t say really
how to do it in practice and when I looked at the config wiki page I wondered
how to do it.
2) Using tags seems a pretty nice and common use case so it made sense to me to
add an example about it. Actually it could even make sense to have it by
default.

 To all,

Something strange is going on with one page in our Wiki. The page has been
created by importing a Word document (.docx), but after the import, the page
 seems to have two parents.

The page shows up in the WebHome of the space, but also under the parent
page where the document was created in the first place.

 Furthermore, when
editing the page and looking at the parent property, it seems to be empty
 (or refering to itself).

If the parent text input field is empty then it means the page has not
parent. As for what the space home page and the parent page are
displaying, you need to check those pages, see their code. They don't
use the parent field for sure. The space home page may simply list all
pages from that space. For the parent page, I've no idea.

 Has anyone encountered this before?

Also, when I delete the page it will be moved to the recycle bin, but
permanently deleting the page from the recycle bin creates a new blank page
 with the same name...

 Hi Marius and Vicent.
 Thank you for the reply.

After disabling the JS, it loaded correctly.
Then I rolled back the instalation and restored the last change I've made.
The problem ocurred due to a jquery-prototype compatibility.

I tried to put Jquery in no-conflict mode, as documented in
jquery.com(http://jquery.com). It was inside a Xwiki object, as well as the
Jquery plugin that I'm using. Now I will try to figure out how do I get it
to work without conflict with prototype.

Note that recent versions of XWiki have jQuery bundled but it isn't
loaded by default on any page. You need to load it using RequrieJS.
Here's an example
https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-platform/blob/master/xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-menu/xwiki-platform-menu-ui/src/main/resources/Menu/MenuMacro.xml#L154
(but you should use 'jquery' instead of 'jQueryNoConflict').

Hope this helps,
Marius

Vicent, here is the documentation I read. It says that:
The general strategy is to download the WAR distribution and to replace
your current installed WAR. Make sure you don't copy on top since this could
leave some old files around which would make XWiki fail (like if old JARs
 are lying around in WEB-INF/lib).
 Link: http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Upgrade

Actually I thought you mean the xwiki data directory and this directory must
absolutely not be removed. It needs to be kept so that the upgrade can
happen. BTW where did you put the xwiki data directory (it’s configured in
 xwiki.properties)?

Even so, I will try to update it to 6.1 and test it, as it features a new
 bootstrap skin.

Cool, let us know how it goes!

 Thanks

Note that recent versions of XWiki have jQuery bundled but it isn't
loaded by default on any page. You need to load it using RequrieJS.
 Here's an example
 https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-platform/blob/master/xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-menu/xwiki-platform-menu-ui/src/main/resources/Menu/MenuMacro.xml#L154

Already documented here

Vicent, here is the documentation I read. It says that:
The general strategy is to download the WAR distribution and to replace
your current installed WAR. Make sure you don't copy on top since this
could leave some old files around which would make XWiki fail (like if old
JARs are lying around in WEB-INF/lib).

Re: [xwiki-users] Parent Column in the Livetable

2014-07-21 Thread Marius Dumitru Florea
Parent column is not supported by default, but it's quite easy to implement it:

(1) $columnsProperties need to contain:

'doc.parent': {type:text,size:10,link:field},

(2) $columns needs to contain 'doc.parent' obviously

(3) Have a custom live table results page that calls the default
results page and then adjusts the JSON before it is serialized:

#set ($rowDoc = $xwiki.getDocument($row.doc_fullName))
#if ($!rowDoc.parent != '')
  #set ($parentDoc = $xwiki.getDocument($rowDoc.parent))
  #set ($row.doc_parent = $parentDoc.plainTitle)
  #set ($row.doc_parent_url = $parentDoc.getURL())
#end

Or, if you're lazy, you can edit XWiki.LiveTableResultsMacros, the
gridresult_buildRowJSON Velocity macro precisely.

Hope this helps,
Marius

Re: [xwiki-users] Searching on non-english documents

2014-07-21 Thread Marius Dumitru Florea

 Hi.

Is there a document describing prefetred settings to have xwiki and solr-based
search working well for non-multilingual, non-en documents?

No. I don't see anything related neither on
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Solr+Search+API
nor on
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Solr+Search+Application
.

I have a problem with solr search (xwiki 5.3). My language settings are:

I'd recommend you to upgrade to a more recent version, 5.4.5 is
probably the safest.

 multilingual: no

 supported languages: pl,en

If multilingual is set to No then the list of supported languages
should have only one language.

default language: - I'm testing with different values here

 and in xwiki.cfg:

 xwiki.language.preferDefault=1
 xwiki.language.forceSupported=1

 Test no 1:
 default language: pl

When I create new document, it has (in database) xwd_language = '' and
xwd_default_language = 'pl' - so it looks ok:

   xwd_fullname | xwd_language | xwd_default_language
 -+--+--
  Sandbox.SzukajWNazwieStronyTest | | pl

I try to search on 'SzukajWNazwie' - solr suggest does suggest this page, but
entering search result the result list is empty.

If i try searching by document content - both search suggest and search result
 list are empty.

 When I change

 default language: en
and create a document, it has properties:

  xwd_fullname | xwd_language | xwd_default_language
 --+--+--
  Sandbox.SearchInPageNameTest | | en

 Then:

 1. Suggest does find the document by its name, search does too
 2. Suggest does not find the document by its content, but search does.

Searching of polish document works as before the change

I'm a little bit confused, I cannot see any consistent rule in the behavior.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

By looking at the Solr schema for 5.3,
https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-platform/blob/xwiki-platform-5.3/xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-search/xwiki-platform-search-solr/xwiki-platform-search-solr-api/src/main/resources/solr/conf/schema.xml#L222
, I see that there is no special analyzer defined for the Polish
language. e.g.
https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-platform/blob/xwiki-platform-5.3/xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-search/xwiki-platform-search-solr/xwiki-platform-search-solr-api/src/main/resources/solr/conf/schema.xml#L728
. This means your Polish wiki pages will be indexed as plain strings,
no special treatment, which would explain the behaviour you are
encountering. Now, most of the Solr schema configuration file we have
in XWiki is taken from the Solr example schema distributed with Solr.
I see that even the latest version of Solr doesn't have an analyzer
for Polish defined by default, see
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/lucene/dev/trunk/solr/example/solr/collection1/conf/schema.xml?view=markup
.

I would ask on the Solr mailing lists for the recommended
configuration for the Polish language. Then you can add that
configuration to the Solr schema file used by XWiki (should be found
somewhere in the solr folder inside your configured permanent
directory).

Hope this helps,
Marius

Why are you doing this manually?

If you pass $NULL to the wikilanguage parameter of $xwiki.copyDocument, all

 Hi,

Do you mean I must launch on query by langage?

Yes I agree with you about this $item then I can use id of document like
 this:

 {{velocity}}
  #set ($items = $xwiki.search(select doc.id from XWikiDocument as doc
 where doc.space='Sandbox' and doc.name != 'WebPreferences'))

Should select doc.fullName instead of doc.id I believe.

You could also call $xwiki.wrapDocs to convert search result to a list of
 xwiki documents directly.

#foreach($item in $items)
  #set($itemDoc = $xwiki.getDocument($item))

You could check if $itemDoc is not null and an existing document before
trying to further access it ;-)

  * //[$itemDoc] ID in Sandbox space with language : $itemDoc.language
#end
  {{/velocity}}
but after I don't know how to retrieve all field from wikidoc table from
 $items. :-(

$itemDoc.language and $itemDoc.name return nothing. Are there a magic
 functions?

Just print $item and you'll see it's just the name of the document so
there's no way getDocument would return something other than the default
translation, which has the language field empty because it's the default
language (check the defaultLanguage field). If you want to get the
translations then you can use the 'language' query filter which adds the
 language to the query results.

Marius, that's a nice feature. I will test it here.

  Vincent, my data directory is
  under environment.permanentDirectory=../Tomcat/webapps/xwiki/data.

BTW since this is a relative directory you need to be very very careful to
always start xwiki from the same directory as otherwise you’ll find
yourself with an empty directory. We recommend using an absolute path.

 From xwiki.properties:

 #-# You can set:
#-# * an absolute path (recommended)
#-# * a relative path (not recommended at all)but in this case the
directory will be relative to where the XWiki server
#-# is started and thus the user under which XWiki is started will need
write permissions for the current directory

 Thanks

I have successfully updated xwiki to 6.1(although I have some minor

Hi Marius and Vicent.
Thank you for the reply.

After disabling the JS, it loaded correctly.
Then I rolled back the instalation and restored the last change
 I've
made. The problem ocurred due to a jquery-prototype compatibility.

I tried to put Jquery in no-conflict mode, as documented in
 jquery.com
(http://jquery.com). It was inside a Xwiki object, as well as the
 Jquery
plugin that I'm using. Now I will try to figure out how do I get it to
 work
   without conflict with prototype.

Note that recent versions of XWiki have jQuery bundled but it isn't
loaded by default on any page. You need to load it using RequrieJS.
Here's an example

 https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-platform/blob/master/xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-menu/xwiki-platform-menu-ui/src/main/resources/Menu/MenuMacro.xml#L154
(but you should use 'jquery' instead of 'jQueryNoConflict').

   Already documented here

 http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/JavaScriptAPI#HRequireJSandjQueryAPIs
   .

Hope this helps,
Marius

Vicent, here is the documentation I read. It says that:
The general strategy is to download the WAR distribution and to
replace your current installed WAR. Make sure you don't copy on top
 since
this could leave some old files around which would make XWiki fail
 (like if
old JARs are lying around in WEB-INF/lib).
Link: http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Upgrade

Actually I thought you mean the xwiki data directory and this
 directory
must absolutely not be removed. It needs to be kept so that the
 upgrade can
happen. BTW where did you put the xwiki data directory (it’s
 configured in
   xwiki.properties)?

Even so, I will try to update it to 6.1 and test it, as it
 features a
   new bootstrap skin.

Cool, let us know how it goes!

Thanks

I don't think there's any UI for this, but it could be scripted. I
would use the new Mail Sender API (
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Mail+Sender+API
). Iterating the list of users from a group and getting their email
address shouldn't be that hard.

Re: [xwiki-users] copyDocument method: copy without attachments?

2014-07-21 Thread Pascal BASTIEN
I use Xwiki 6.1 and copyDocument method doesn't copy document attachments:

 #set ($items = $xwiki.search(select doc.fullName from XWikiDocument as doc
where doc.space='SandBoxTemplate' and doc.name != 'WebPreferences' and doc.name
!= 'ReinitSandboxMacro'))
  #foreach($item in $items)
    #set($itemDoc = $xwiki.getDocument($item))
    #if ($request.debug != 'true')
  #set ($discard = $xwiki.copyDocument($item,
BacASable.$itemDoc.name,fr,true,true))
((I will try to replace fr by $NULL as you suggest)
Cf.: http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Reinit_Sandbox

I will recheck with your parameter thank you.
