Re: [vchkpw] Error: Domain does not exist
Hmmm... but did you: ./vadddomain before you vadduser? this will create the domain and then when you use vadduser it will create the user directories for you (under the vpopmail domains directory). As an added benefit, it make it very easy to not use system passwords for user accounts. With this kind of a setup, you would only have localhost in /var/qmail/locals, something for your local domain in /var/qmail/rcpthosts and vadddomain and vadduser will take care of /var/qmail/virtualdomains and /var/qmail/users for you. I hope this is of some help. Re: [vchkpw] Error: Domain does not exist
Perhaps there is some problem with your qmail directory? normally vadddomain should add the domain to /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts /var/qmail/users/assign if it doesnt know the correct path? Vpopmail 5.0 gives Error: Domain does not exist
Hi, I have just downloaded the new 5.0 version and installed it! My qmail is installed in the /usr/local/qmail directory so my configure was something like: ./configure --enable-qmaildir=/usr/local/qmail --enable-qmail-newu=/usr/local/qmail/bin/qmail-newu --enable-qmail-inject=/usr/local/qmail/bin/qmail-inject --enable-qmail-newmrh=/usr/local/qmail/bin/qmail-newmrh It generates the config.h file, I have checked the paths and everything was ok correct. Everything configured and compiled without any problems, but when I try to add (vadddomain) a new domain or delete (vdeldomain) it, I receive the following error message: Error: Domain does not exist Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance, JoãoGet your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Re: Error: Domain does not exist
hello I finally found a solution, together with a friend. The mistake was that vpopmail had an old config.h from a previous qmail-installation. In the config.h, the paths to the qmail-binaries are defined, and these were different in the previous setup. On adding a domain, the vadddomain could not execute the qmail-newu tool and therefore quitted... The fact that there was no serious error-message was quite the problem, because we spent an hour with gdb for finding out that there a simple path-problem... well. I am not C-hacker, so I have no patch for this. I hope this information can help out some of you who have the same error-message... regards, paul kremer p.s.: I would never have had this trouble if I didn't start out with installing the unofficial debian-qmail packages... debian is OK, but in this case it took me hours, because of path-definitions !!! The domain directory is in vpopmails/domains, but there doesn't seem to be any data in the vpopmail database! here is the situation: - linux 2.2.20 - qmail 1.03 (patched with http://matt.simerson.net/computing/qmail/qmail-1.03-matt-toaster.patch) - tcpserver 0.88 (patched with http://matt.simerson.net/computing/qmail/ucspi-tcp-0.88-mysql.patch) - vpopmail 5.0 I want all authentication to go through mysql, the tables are all OK, I am 100% strict : the SQL-server is working OK, connect info is in /var/qmail/control/sql. files under /var/qmail/users/ are syntactically OK, since I finally copied assign, cdb from a different working server. Empty files (including a one-dotted line) did not work too. the entries in rcpthosts and virtualdomains is being made, all OK. the directory in /home/vpopmail/domains is also created, containing a .qmail-default file, but nothing for postmaster. the assign file also does not contain any info regarding the postmaster. the sql-tabel vpopmail seems to be left untouched after the vadddomain. Does anyone have any idea whats happening with this?? I added domains for a couple of test domains into bind and then tried with them. The same error was appearing. I get the error Error: Domain does not exist when using vadddomain... here is the situation: - linux 2.2.20 - qmail 1.03 (patched with http://matt.simerson.net/computing/qmail/qmail-1.03-matt-toaster.patch) - tcpserver 0.88 (patched with http://matt.simerson.net/computing/qmail/ucspi-tcp-0.88-mysql.patch) - vpopmail 5.0 I want all authentication to go through mysql, the tables are all OK, I am 100% strict : the SQL-server is working OK, connect info is in /var/qmail/control/sql. files under /var/qmail/users/ are syntactically OK, since I finally copied assign, cdb from a different working server.
