[vdr] Problem with vdr-1.7.x and three DVB-T HD channels

2013-01-06 Thread kafifi
Hi,
Happy new year 2013 to Klaus and all vdr users !!

Under vdr-1.7.x and xineliboutput, I have some trouble with **tree** dvb-t
HD french channels (Eiffel Tower near Paris) :
- SD channels : OK
- HD channels : all OK except France2 HD, M6HD and 6ter (see below).

Channels KO
When I zap on one of them, image appears about one second, freezes, and then
I get a black screen. Sometimes it's impossible to zap to another channel,
vdr-sxfe can't drive vdr anymore, and I have to reload vdr. Sometimes, afert
about 10s, image appears for one second, and freezes again, and then I get
black screen.

Here is latest tests performed on a Wheezy x64 fresh install. Same issues
(signal strenght about 82%) :
- with NOVA-T-500 tuner
- with TBS6280 tuner
- alternating vdr-1.7.27 (+ patch ppid) and vdr-7.1.33.
- With parameter menu configuration DVB card update channels NO
- With parameter menu configuration DVB card update channels name and
pid

Installation is OK, no problem under Win7. Could you please help me to find
what's wrong ?
Could it be a bad setting of config_xineliboutput ?

Thanks a lot !
Karim

[vdr] Vdr-1.6.0 and mplayer 1.0rc2-4.3.2 : cpu usage ?

2009-02-02 Thread kafifi
Hello,

I am trying to view HD movies with vdr-1.6.0 and mplayer 1.0rc2-4.3.2.
Of course, because I am using Nexus output, vdr has to resample the files
to SD (720x576). Even if my vdrbox has a E4500 Core2Duo and 2GB RAM,
1080p movies are jerky (sound and image). After more tests, I noticed
a different behaviour, according I run mplayer alone, or from vdr :

mplayer alone
- the two cores were used at the same level.

mplayer via vdr
- one core is at 100% and the second is about 40%

Is there any way to tune vdr to run mplayer using hte 2 cores ?
Did I missed something ?

Thanks

When I try mplayer **without vdr**, DTS is working :

My mplayer.sh.conf has theses lines :

I'm not an expert in that since I didn't get to receiver connection yet, but
I think there is also hwdts codec.
I think the correct switch is -ac hwdts.

Thanks for the words of understanding several people have posted here.

I'm pretty amazed myself how fast time went by this summer, and how little
time I had to work on VDR. I do have a version 1.7.1 sitting here that's
almost ready, but there are some things I'd still like to go into it. I'll
do my best to come up with a reasonable version this weekend.

Hello,
Be carefull ! New CANAL cards will shortly not working on other demodulator

CANAL is doing that because they don't want that the susbscribers record any

[vdr] Weak TNT signal on vdr : how to mesure ?

2008-05-21 Thread kafifi
Hello,

I recently added a NOVA-T500 to my vdrbox. Unfortunately, even if the
picture is really nice,
I've some freezes because the TNT signal is weak (I am in 50km of the Eiffel
Tower...).I ordered
a 0.4 dB low noise preamplifier (ULNA 3036 from TGN-Technology) to improve
my installation.

Actually, Femon is mesuring only the strengh value (here about 60%), but not
the rate of error.
I need the two informations to fix my installation.

Do you know any patch for Femon, or any utilities under Linux which can
displays all TNT
signal informations ?

Thank you.

For the non-french speaking people, it may be useful to say that TNT
is the french acronym for DVB-T.

[vdr] vdr and 28.2E EPG ?

2007-06-04 Thread kafifi
Hi all,

I've just tuned my second dish on 28.2E, viewing many FTA channels.
Curiously, vdr doesn't display any EPG (just now next information).

Is there any special transponder I must tune to download EPG,
or SKY uses a non standard EPG ? In this case, could you give me a link ?

Thanks.

[vdr] Re: How to customize lcdproc for vdr ?

  I am using vdr-1.4.7, and vdr-lcdproc-0.0.10-jw2, to drive a 16x2
  characters imon VFD module.

The display is really nice, but 16x2 isn't enough to display all
datas. I would customize lcdproc to remove all EPG informations,
and display only time, channel number and channel name.

Could someone help me to do this customization ?

  Thanks a lot.

 Hi,
I have a 2x20 LC display and once made this patch. It introduces a
 new

 option show time

whice you can disable to have more useful information on your display.
 S.

I don't know why, the patch didn't applied without reject, then I made
all modifications manually. All is ok now, your customisation is great !

One more thing : I would like to disable EPG data. Do you plan to add
 such option ?

If you disable EPG data too, then what's left ? Only the channel name in the
top line ?

S.

I would like to do one of theses schemes :

Line 1 : Channel n° XXX
Line 2 : Channel name

or

Line 1 : date --- time
Line 2 : Channel number --- channel name

I should be great if theses profiles could be choosen by a setup option.

 Line 1 : date --- time
Line 2 : Channel number --- channel name

I should be great if theses profiles could be choosen by a setup option.

Hello,

maybe I could do this, but not in the next 4 weeks. Perhaps Joachim Wilke
could do this too, if you ask him.

S.

Because it's just a visual improvement, and not a critical feature, I am not
in a hurry. No problem to way several weeks. Anyway, I'll try to ask to
Joachim about this, and I will keep you informed.

Thanks a lot for your help.

[vdr] Re: How to customize lcdproc for vdr ?

2007-05-22 Thread kafifi
 Hello,

 I am using vdr-1.4.7, and vdr-lcdproc-0.0.10-jw2, to drive a 16x2
 characters imon VFD module.

The display is really nice, but 16x2 isn't enough to display all
datas. I would customize lcdproc to remove all EPG informations, and
display only time, channel number and channel name.

Could someone help me to do this customization ?

 Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I have a 2x20 LC display and once made this patch. It introduces a new
option show time
whice you can disable to have more useful information on your display.
S.

I don't know why, the patch didn't applied without reject, then I made all
modifications manually. All is ok now, your customisation is great !

One more thing : I would like to disable EPG data. Do you plan to add such
option ?

Thanks a lot.
