it seems unpredictable in my experience. I just double - check b4
exporting that all my audio extractions, so to speak, are lined up
where I want them, then it seems to export aok. Manual adjustments
may be required.

[videoblogging] Winnies: Not going? You can still play if you act fast

2007-11-26 Thread Roxanne Darling
So Irina has organized a grand partee in LA this weekend for
videobloggers. Lots of us ain't gonna be there. But we can still
play and be there in digital form./

It is a last minute idea so you must act fast. Really fast.

1) Email me (or the list) by Tuesday midnight your time zone
2) Give me the following 3 bits of data:
   -- your video blog URL
   -- your email address
   -- your name
3) Late Tues (I am way out in the pacific so I have the time zone
advantage) I will assign you a videblog to review
4) Wed AM, you will find an email from me in your InBox. (IF you gave
me your 3 bits of data)
5) Follow the instructions: Go watch a few episoides of so and so's
vlog, then give it an award for the "Best ___" = you get to
decide!
6) Film the 20 second award you are giving (MUST BE SHORTA TO BE INCLUDED)
7) Email me a link to the file by wed midnight your time zone.
8) I will assemble and deliver to the Winnies crew - DUE THURSDAY AM.
9) Email the host of the vlog and tell them what they won an award for.

Be nice. Of course, Right?

love,

Rox

I have a few names - but am missing the data. And I know there are far
more not going than going, so step right up and play!

Same thing happens to me. Generally, before extracting the audio, I do
all the splice and organization of the clips in order. Once that is

[videoblogging] A WebRing You May Wanna Check Out

2007-11-26 Thread Patrick Cook
Hi everyone:

Just on a whim as I was looking for more places to promote my audio &
video podcasts, I can across this webring from WebRing.com

http://q.webring.com/hub?ring=nntp

According to the hub page, it says this

"We welcome sites with press rooms, NNTP news servers, news feeds,
newsletters, blogs, video blogs, podcasts, chat rooms and discussion
groups in this high traffic ring!"

It's only got about 20 sites in it and it does have a few blogs in it,
but I think it's worth checking out IMO. I intend to add my sites
there.

I don't own the ring nor am I a co-ringmaster, so this isn't a
shameless plug or anything. :)

A more generalized list is at this URL

http://lb.webring.com/cgi-bin/hubsearch?search (Just type in the word
"podcast" if needed).

AnywayI'm gonna check out some of these places :)

Cheers :D

I am keeping the list of remoters - so far it seems small. IF I can
get people organized, can you play a clip I submit of the remoters
giving their winnies to each other?

1) I randomize the remoters and contact them
2) They each review and come up with an award.
3) They present it via a video clip (20 secs max!) and get me the footage
4) I will edit it into one clip, only a few mins long, for you to play
sometime during the evening.

Can we do this?

[videoblogging] iMovie audio keeps getting pushed forward out of sync.

2007-11-26 Thread Grace Piper
 Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help me with iMovie audio sync troubles.

Can anyone tell me why, even though I locked the audio to clip,
when I move or delete another clip the extracted audio for all the
clips behind that clip(the one I changed/deleted) gets pushed
forward/out of sync in the timeline? This is related only to audio
I've extracted from clips.
This is driving me nuts.

I'm using iMovie HD 6.0.3

thanks,
Grace

[videoblogging] Best sport ever

2007-11-26 Thread Adam Quirk
This has very little to do with videoblogging, so I'll keep it short.

When Hunter Thompson was still alive, one of his last paying gigs was a
(sometimes) weekly column for ESPN.com called "Hey Rube". He wrote an
article in early 2005 about a new sport he had invented with his friend, the
Sheriff. (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?id=1992213) The sport
is called Shotgun Golf, and I was determined to play it one day.

Over this Thanksgiving holiday the stars aligned, and I found myself back
home in Indiana with a bag full of golf balls, 200 shotgun shells, and some
willing friends.

I can finally mark this off my list of things to do before I die:

[videoblogging] Last Call

2007-11-26 Thread Irina
ok guys i just spent like a while randoming out names (yeah its a word
cuz i say so)
if you are coming and you are a video person and you did not get an
email from me (and u have not im'd or phoned with me this weekend)
PLEASE let me know
i would have for folks to be there and feel left out!
This is the Proletariat Awards with two former-Soviet kids hosting and
most sponsors giving 500 or less! OWN IT!
so if you have a friend and that friend has not been assigned a name,
do the right thing = friends dont let friends come to the Winnies to
not win!
