[videoblogging] Re: First Vlog

2006-04-06 Thread gottadiva
Hi Michael,

Great concept. I'm interested in seeing what is coming next. Are you
only handling local poets? Or will poets from around the nation send
in videos that you will post?

Cheers

hey gena,
indeed, we are already planning to showcase many of our very unknown
and yet very talented friends bands etcetc. we will also be at the
IMVF in LA tomorrow night to interview indie music vid makers.
trust me.we will not be interviewing the 'stars' of ANY
labels. like you said, leave that to the big shots.
of course, that's not to say...we can't make fun of them, right?
ha ha!
cheers.

Hi Gena,

Thanks for the feedback. I encoded the vide in h.264 and didn't realize it is
only
compatible with QT 7. I'm going to try a differnt codec the works QT 6 which
hopefully will
solve this problem.

What do you use to export the .wmv file?

Thanks again

Will

What I do is make a video for the .wvm and include a 160x120 .mov link
version for dial-up/QT users. You don't have to do that it is just
what I chose to do. It is more work and making sure that I don't link
 to the wrong thing.

Many folks have decided that they want to render in QT 7.0, again that
is a choice. I think it does help to have a line that says QT 7.0 or
 higher required to view videos.

 Just my 0.02 cents

[videoblogging] Re: First vLog launch

2005-11-06 Thread Gena
I have a couple of options:

#1 I use Ulead VideoStudio 9 for editing - I have a memory camcorder
that shoots .avi and a digital still camera that shoots .mov video.

When I am ready for the master copy I export to a good quality .avi
file.

I then take that over to QT6.3 and make a small .mov version. This
allows me to add my personal info, video information and copyright
intfo inside of the video.

Next I open Windows Movie Maker 2 and export out a .wmv version. I do
the same thing under preferences, add my name, blog info and title.

#2 I could export out of Ulead a straight 320x240 .wmv but I can see a
difference in the video quality.

#3. I could also us QT to export MP-4 but I still have a issue with
video quality.

There are a few .mov to .wvm video converters around but I'm not
familiar enough with the Mac side to recomend any. They have been
discussed in the group.
