Again, it's a mixed bag for me - I'm not big on having stills taken of me, but I have no problem with yakking it up on video. Some detail: An introvert is someone who is re-energized by being alone, but when they spend a lot of time around people, they feel drained and maybe anxious afterwards. An extrovert is the opposite: energized in the presence of others, but drained after a weekend in isolation. Most people are somewhere in the middle. Note that this has nothing to do with shyness or stage fright/stage presence. I would like the lurkers to respond, too, if you all don't mind (since otherwise the results will naturally be skewed towards the extroverts, introverts being more likely to lurk on forums). Where do you put yourself in the introvert/extrovert spectrum? [If you've taken the Meiers-Brigg personality test, you pretty much know already]. And if you're willing to mention it, where is your videoblog? I'm interested to know if there's a higher percentage of one personality trait or the other, and I'm keenly interested in knowing if introverts and extroverts make different styles of videoblogs. Also, if you're the kind of person who adamantly hates labels like this, I guess I don't mind you not answering. --Stephanie PS: I'll answer, but I don't want to skew the first results. -- Stephanie Bryant [EMAIL PROTECTED] Blogs, vlogs, and audioblogs at: http://www.mortaine.com/blogs Yahoo! [videoblogging] Re: Introverts and Extroverts
INTP - I would prefer living in a library or with books but I can be social or appear extraverted for a limited time period. Don't mind preping or giving a speech but I want to run for the hills after (I don't but I feel that way sometimes.) I think because vlogging can allow those who are introverted to do what they do in private, it is a great medium for all persuasions. As for my vlogging style, I really don't want to be the focus. I want to record what I encounter and document the dissappearing world I once knew. Maybe in the future, when I'm ready and have something worthwhile to say. [videoblogging] Re: Introverts and Extroverts
I'd have to say I am in between, probably slightly leaning toward introvert. I get recharged from being on my own but also enjoy the company of others. In large groups where I don't know many people, I tend to feel a little anxious. On the other hand, I am a professional entertainer (a teacher), so I get my fill of groups of people all day long and sometimes catch myself expecting other people to be as menacing and dreary as my students are. So I think my introversion is more a factor of my demoralizing job than anything else. But like Steve G., I am a work in progress and way to young to label this way. [videoblogging] Re: Introverts and Extroverts
Well, it really depends. Usually, I'm fine with being with a large group of people who don't actually bore me. And once being with people like that, I can feel pretty energized and ah, recharged. But people who bore me will make me end up feeling empty, and I would probably just walk off after feeling rather uncomfortable. Er, although I do have to say that I do get bored rather easily. There are times when I would think of something like bah, why the hell am I wasting my time with them when I can just stay home and do something more productive Maybe that's just my massive ego speaking. Hmm. I guess I'm just kinda mercurial. How do you feel after being alone? Both introverts and extroverts can enjoy either activity (and everyone needs some alone time as well as time with people)-- it's a matter of which one makes you feel more energized and recharged emotionally, mentally, spiritually. My guess, based on what you said, is that you're close to the middle, more towards the introvert side, but that you're not shy, which makes a difference in how you perceive your own introvert/extrovert self. --Stephanie On 2/10/06, Edmund Yeo [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I think I'm an extroverted introvert. But despite thus, I am forced to be in front of the camera all the time, and the roles I have in my own short films usually end with me... dying. -- Stephanie Bryant [EMAIL PROTECTED] Blogs, vlogs, and audioblogs at: http://www.mortaine.com/blogs Yahoo!
