I don't understand the discussion about a picture
attached to email postings here.  I don't get any photos with posts.
Is that something my computer is automatically filtering out?  I'm using a
PC at the moment with XP and Outlook Express.

I like the term "gushy". Kunga was definitely gushy. Some good info, but
a lot in a short period of time. Like a new oil well -- you want it, but
under control. Thanks for shortening that sig, too, Taylor!

Like Stephanie said, even if it's not technically spam, it can seem
"spammy" to a lot of people because messages are perceived as overly
frequent.

I just don't see the point. Personally, I get really frustrated by
emails from a list that contain extraneous attachments. My preference is
that email lists should be text only, with attachments used because
they're passing along something necessary for the discussion. Especially
when a list is as busy as this one, it's just one less thing to wade
through or fill up your in-box.

Sometimes when someone posts frequently to a group, it's called
"spammy" or "spamming" even though it's not commercial spam and people
don't get as angry as they do about "real" spam. It's just that you're
excited and chatty.

> May I include a photograph once a day? I wish all of you would. I got
> mine down to 4k. I thought I was being creative.

Creative, yes. However.

Personally, I would prefer no photo in the email. Remember: we're all
capable of watching your feed and seeing what you look like. See, even
at 4KB, that's still four times larger than the average size of an
email. So every message you send with the picture takes up four times
as much space in everyone's email accounts as it would without the
picture. Plus, the pics show up as attachments if you don't have
HTML-enabled email, so people get prompted to download the attachment
or don't know if it's a good attachment or an evil virus-spreading
one, etc. etc. etc.

Netiquette-wise, I suggest sticking to text. My personal pet peeve is
that I wish everyone would compose their email messages in plain text
instead of using any formatting, because frequently the formatting
changes the font size so I can't even read it! But that's just me, and
I try to work around it as much as possible, knowing that many people
either don't know they can change those settings, or don't wish to for
their own reasons.

Just for the sake of clarity I think you mean one enclosure per post.
Feed refers more to the entire RSS file.

By the way I have a request. Could people try to cut out the yahoo
sponsorshipp stuff out of the emails when they reply to them?

The reason is that the sponsorship URLs are very long and if like me
you look at the group messages via yahoo website, it makes the page
too wide so the next button gets pushed off the screen, slows me down.

For example:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/videoblogging/message/20889

Cheers
