Re: [videoblogging] 7D workflow for PC
Further to my post yesterday, I just saw this. Steve Jobs replied to an email from someone asking about the future of final cut. http://macsoda.com/2010/04/13/steve-jobs-next-final-cut-studio-will-be-awesome/ He said: Next release will be awesome. Um. That's it. Rupert http://twittervlog.tv On 15 Apr 2010, at 16:59, Rupert Howe wrote: I found myself tempted back to PC for the first time yesterday. Re: [videoblogging] 7D workflow for PC
I just said thanks Rupert out loud. Neoscene just made my life much easier. I'm kicking myself for sitting on it this whole time. Yeah I like Premiere, but it's a fickle mistress. It crashes every once in a while, as do all computer programs I suppose. I think it's about the same as Final Cut, but I've only used FCP a couple times. I really like the keyframe animation options built into Premiere, and it's pretty easy to switch back and forth between After Effects and Premiere on the same project. In my dreams, AE has audio editing and can import any codec. As I've mentioned in another post, I'm trialing Pinnacle Studio HD 14 and it works pretty well with my 1280x720 HD H.264 clips direct from my Sanyo Xacti, I don't convert first. No idea about the 7D, but it might be worth a trial. Dave. RE: [videoblogging] 7D workflow for PC
Adam, its Roger. I use a 7D and usually copy the EOS files to whatever machine I am using. I am able to import them into Final Cut Pro and Premiere on the Mac and Edius (Grass Valley) on the PC . I import them no problem, but have to render them one way or another to play back realtime smooth. That just seems to be a fact of life with most any of the HD files I use. ( ACHD as well.) On FCP, I work in a PRORES codec-- mixing various formats in there. The ultimate video quality is great. BYW though, the files import and render very nicely in IMovie. Once they are in, they have played fine and no other rendering is needed.I wind up using I movie alot . The 7D a great camera.( I would look into the Rebel T2i now.) It takes getting used to, but I love it. Check out the video P.F. Bentley posted on Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/9050517 Roger.
