RE: [vintagvw] Resilvering light reflectors
Andy (and all), Funny, I got that Leonard Plating advice just this morning from a local antique-car buff. I think that's my next stop. I understand they do a good job, and they're convenient for me. My resident guru tells me, though: for the demanding connoisseur for whom cost is no object, Uvira, in Merlin, Oregon, is unsurpassed. They're true pros. Bert, Supper mirror powder coating...cheap and might be worth a shot?..but if you think chrome is not good enough, then poweder coating may not be either. I, for certain do not have enough info...if you can do plastic vapor deposition on plastic and have it be bright and shiny enough to suit most people, then what is it that they are depositing on the plasticchrome?...or some sort of silvering? Re: [vintagvw] Resilvering light reflectors
Bert, I had some Model A reflectors done a few years ago locally. And it wasn't cheap. I think it was like 160 bucks for two. But they did a really nice job. Only other options I can see is silver paint, or mylar tape. But your results might vary. -Kirin On Mon, Apr 8, 2013 at 12:51 PM, Dave C.
