A couple of irritating problems with my iPhone
Hi all, I have been facing a couple of issues with my iPhone lately.. First of all, the main problem is that sometimes some apps don't get opened on double tapping them.. The screen merely blinks on double tapping the app and then returns back to how it was before double tapping the app. I searched about this online and found a way of fixing this problem.. I tried that method according to which I had to delete and install any one of the apps and them the rest would somehow start working.. The method worked for me a couple of times.. However, since yesterday I have been facing the same issue and that method doesn't seem to work anymore.. I was asked by the people at apple to reset all settings but, far from solving this issue, it created another problem. After I reset all settings, the VoiceOver voice for U. S. English started sounding really strange and pathetic.. I thought that the compact voice had been enabled by mistake, but that was also not true.. So how should I deal with both these problems?. Shortening urls in the twitter app Hi all, Maybe I'm missing something, but for the life of me I can't find a url shortener button or any equivalent feature in the native twitter app. Perhaps this is the compelling reason I need to switch to some other platform for my treating needs, but if I've simply overlooked something obvious in this one, I'd be grateful if someone could set me straight. UVersion Bible question.
Hi Folks: When I open the UVersion Bible, it defaults to the today menu. Is it possible to have the program default to the Bible option? Hi! I think the voiceover speech issue is chaused by that if you reset all settings, it deletes the hq voice and you are on compact voice. Plug you phone in and leave it untill it starts speaking with the hq voice again. I'm not shure about the apps lounching issue, but if you know when it started, try to restore your phone to that point. Maybe that will help. I'm not aware of any settings for the screen curtain, but you can turn it on or off with a three finger triple tap. You can usually down load the same app with the same ID and password on up to 5 devices. Have you looked in settings or options for the app, either in the app or in the settings area of iOS? So, keep tapping one of these until you see 06 magnify. This will bring up a list with a search box on top. Just swipe right over and over to see each entry from newest to oldest. It will read it first and at the end will tell you the date and time. If you want to go to a specific one, just double tap the entry you want. If you use the 83 calendar instead, it's not as friendly. Basically this shows what entries you have for today, and near the upper part of the screen you can tap other days to bring those up. I like Daily Tracker best, because you can do more than just journal with it. Download the Bible app. You can get at least the amplified Bible on it. I'm not sure about the Message. I haven't looked to see if it is on there. Just go to the app store, and search for Bible. It should be the first choice. The developer is YouVersion. It will read it first and at the end will tell you the date and time. If you want to go to a specific one, just double tap the entry you want. If you use the 83 calendar instead, it's not as friendly. Basically this shows what entries you have for today, and near the upper part of the screen you can tap other days to bring those up. Along the bottom you will see things like 56 cloud, 18 envelope, 25 circle west, and 21 circle east. I'm not exactly what the west and east buttons mean, but they seem to scroll different options. So, keep tapping one of these until you see 06 magnify. This will bring up a list with a search box on top. Just swipe right over and over to see each entry from newest to oldest. It will read it first and at the end will tell you the date and time. If you want to go to a specific one, just double tap the entry you want. If you use the 83 calendar instead, it's not as friendly. Basically this shows what entries you have for today, and near the upper part of the screen you can tap other days to bring those up. iMessages VS text messages again
First, grin, I now think I know why my brother wasn't getting my iMessages timely, but was receiving the text messages okay. Apparently, although he doesn't know how it happened, he used more data than his purchased amount for the month. So, ATT charged him another fifteen dollars for more. Thus, not liking this at all, he went to the ATT store and had them help him turn off the data usage altogether. Therefore, he couldn't get my iMessages until he got back home and was using his WiFi connection. Second, then, am I thinking correctly that iMessages need the internet, meaning either WiFi or a data plan? You use the same app on your iPhone to read and send both iMsg's and text messages. They basically appear the same, but I think they are labelled differently, so you know when you're reading a text message versus an iMsg. I think this is configurable, but when sending a message, the iPhone will send an iMsg when it can, such as to another iPhone, and otherwise it'll send a text message. So if you're sending a message to someone who has a cell phone that is not an iPhone, you will be sending a text message and that's what the person will receive. Hello, iMessages are sent over either your WI-FI or your cell carrier, they are between iOS devices and OS X Mountain Lion. They do not go through normal texting channels, only through your Apple account and that of other Apple account holders using iOS devices and Mountain Lion. imsg for some clarification please
Hi, Okay, I'm been reading some of the posts regarding the differences between imsg and smsg and just want to be totallly clear about one point. If you send an imsg to a user who isn't using an iphone and on a different network besides, will they get your message. This is wen you originate the message and not a reply. I've sent out a couple such imsgs and not certain if they really were received by the non-iphone users. If you can't send and imsg to a non-iphone user, I hope something can be done in ios6 or whatever to deal with this. Well, I haven't tested this exhaustively, and I'm no expert, but I don't think you'll get the option to send an iMsg from your iPhone to someone who doesn't have an Iphone. I think you'll just get dropped into a text message entry field. So you can send them a message but you won't be able to send them an iMsg. No this cannot be done. The iOS works out if you are going to send it as an iMessage or a plain text message. This is correct. iOS works out if iMessage can be used or not. I just sent an iMessage to a friend and my iPhone figured out that this person can receive iMessages. When I chose a person from my contact list that I know do not use a iOS device my iPhone figured out that this contact can only receive regular text messages. When I went to update my apps through the app store I found that my son changed my login details. Sync wit your iTouch (focus your cursor on your iTouch, then open context menu, then choose Sync). A Heads-Up On The Soon-To-Be-Released New Version of the TV Guide App for iOS
Hello Fellow Television Fans: A new version of the TV Guide app should be released within the next couple of either days or weeks. While the new version has a different look and feel, it includes several new features and added functionality that I will let you discover for yourself. The best part is that it is marvelously VoiceOver accessible. In fact, TV Guide has gone out of their way to make sure that we, as blind and low vision users, can enjoy the same functionality as our sighted counterparts. And for you pucker-butts, I am not violating any NDAs in posting to the list. The reason I am posting is to: 1. Inform you that the new version of the App is VoiceOver ready; including the setup and settings areas. 2. Let you know that the new app has a new look and feel that may take a little getting used to but is well worth the effort. 3. If you like reviewing programming via the Favorite channels list, don't worry, it's still there but in a slightly different location but with added functionality. 4. Thanks to the programmers, now VoiceOver users can double tap on any channel number in the general listings grid, to see only the day's listings for that one particular channel Without having to add the channel to the Favorites list. 5. Let you know that the new version of the app will now let you save your Favorite channels, shows, etc in the Cloud so you can access them on all your iOS devices and the TV Guide website. That's right. Select your Favorite channels and/or television shows complete with alerts, and have them synchronized across all your iOS devices. 6. app data saved to iCloud -- What's the synck category setting for this?
Hi It seems like lots of apps are saving data to the iCloud for a wide variety of user functionality and convenience. Do we have to have any general settings set so this happens, or do apps do this automatically? If auto app data synck isn't desired for a particular app, how does one turn it off? If we're talking about the same app, it was sorta like this, before they made the change that broke it for a while. Talking about the ability to tap a channel in the main list and see what was showing, I mean. After they fixed it to where you could use it again, some of the changes were sorta annoying, but, it did get way better. Glad to hear they are continuing to improve it. adding files from iCloud to Pages on iPad
Listers, I have Pages installed on my iPad. I want to add a document which I have saved into iCloud. I can find the add button but once activated, I gett a choice to add a document from iTunes or Webdav but not from iCloud. I looked in the settings Pages menu and iCloud is selected there. I thought maybe webdav was iCloud and tried to sign in with my credentials but it didn't work - silly idea of mine, I think. A sign of desperation. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
